I've been to close to 60 casinos, and this is the smallest casino I've ever been to. But you know what -- it does the trick. Low limit gaming, Craps, Blackjack, Roulette, 3 Card Poker, and Texas Hold'em are all offered, and its right on the main drag at Hampton Beach. Max bet is $4, so $20 or $50 will last you awhile. Its not Foxwoods, Mohegan Sun, but its simple and nice. I guess the one negative is that low-limits equals "wild" gaming. People hitting on 16's at blackjack when the dealer is showing a 6. This is a small casino on the Hampton Beach strip. They have slots however the slot games aren't the same ones as you'll find in Vegas and casinos in other states. They have table games like poker and blackjack. The blackjack minimum bet is $2. The max is $4 so the good thing is you can't really go overboard here and lose a lot of money. I always have a great time at ocean gaming. I try to make the trip up from Boston at least once a month. The staff is very friendly and Anthony does a great job checking on all the tables and making sure we are set for drinks. I have stopped going to Foxwoods for now because I can enjoy the same games here. It's also a great place for newer players because the dealers are patient when explaining the rules and you can't bet more than 10 bucks on blackjack. Food and drinks are good too! I've gone to this place frequently and haven't really had any complaints, when you first go in they do ID and it is 18 plus, the slots are nice where they are touch screen and you can choose what kind of game you want to play on them, what I didn't like was that they close at 11:00 pm even though the whole casino closes at 1:00 am. I am usually just a slots gambler but I do think the employees are very nice, unfortunately the drinks are not free, but I would say overall good casino for Hampton NH. When we arrived there was no waitstaff on the deck so I went in to find someone. Went in with a friend today to play. I went to use the bathroom before we played. As I was using bathroom, my friend was asked to leave because he had a backpack (for beach). My friend was not allowed to put backpack someone safe at the casino but instead they asked him to leave on the ground unattended. We had no choice but to leave. As I was walking downstairs a man who worked there pursued us and said to not use his bathroom ever again if we are not staying to play. I have been here a couple times with my girlfriend and we both agree this is a great night out. It is a small time place so you do not win or lose a lot. You come here strictly for the love of casino games. I am going to give a thumbs up to Julie, who deals here and drives 2 hours to work here. She remembers our names the minute we walk in. I will also give kudos to the management staff who warmly greeted us the second we entered. Beers are served in those cold, aluminum bottles. As a suggestion to management, it would be nice if there was a $2 beer night, that place would fill up. There are always lot of open tables. The atmosphere feels like a real casino unlike other NH charitable gambling venues where they pour little money into the venues and has a basement feel to it. We will be back! read more

Spent 4 hrs here and this is my review. First, bartenders and dealers are friendly and helpful with the exception of one dealer who was more like a robot. If you are looking to play blackjack you must be patient as they only have one table open early. There were 4 of us and the female owner didn't care that we wanted to play blackjack despite that 2 others tables were not used and dealers were standing around bored. We finally got on a blackjack table and were having fun, cheering when winning, etc and the female owner told us we were too loud! It was weird, the place was very quiet most of all and she hovered and was quick to let people know if they were out of line lol. It was like she was running a library. Ocean Gaming (a.k.a. Oceanfront Gaming) is a "charitable gaming establishment" (a.k.a. low-stakes casino that profit shares with local charities in order to legally operate in the state of New Hampshire). Apparently, NH law allows for "casino nights" to be operated for the benefit of charitable organizations with certain other limitations involved. One of the limitations, or so I've been told, is that these casino nights are not supposed to be a full-time enterprise for any particular charitable organization, so to get around that these enterprising folks have a rotating list of charities that take something like 30% of all profits from any given night: the charity of the night is displayed at the top of the stairs as you enter (think The Hampton Beach Historical Society or the Southern New Hampshire Arts Council type groups). The great thing about this is, when you lose you can say "Hey, it's for charity" and not exactly feel like an idiot. Another limitation is that it's $4 MAX bets. If you sit at a black jack table you can play 2 hands at $4 each (and play that little "Match the dealer" side bet at $1-4 each) for a total of $16 bucks and that is literally the highest initial bet you can put down on any given hand of black jack (you can double down/split etc. beyond opening bet too). Similar rules apply to the other table games (let it ride, 3-card poker), and $4 max on any given number on the roulette table, though you can bet multiple numbers. They also have craps, but I have no idea how to play that so I won't comment. As far as I can tell, only 25% of the people who play craps actually know what is going on- the rest simply play the pass line and yell a lot. (BTW: Saw a guy get hit in the eye with a dice at a craps table in Foxwoods, even though the guy was nearly blinded the casino was more concerned with whether it was a legal roll or not due to interference- nice.) The staff are all super friendly and if you go more than once you'll start to recognize the dealers, waitresses, etc. A lot of the dealers are kids in college (you only have to be 18 to play here by the way, so I assume same goes for dealing) and one of them told me they're mostly friends with a kid whose mom got them all the job. Even the ones who aren't college age tend to be new dealers and aren't exactly the honed caliber you might find in Vegas or down in CT so pay attention. There's one dealer (no names because I like him/her) who has tried to take my money 7 times now (keeping count) when I either push or actually win and had to correct him/her. Similarly, I've been paid on losing hands (yes I correct that too, karma baby). Just keep track because sometimes a dealer's 23 beats your 21 some how. They also serve fairly cheap beers ($4.50 pints of Harpoon, $2.50/$3.50 pints of Miller/Coors depending on special). I tend to walk out of this place with a couple extra bucks in my pocket after tipping the dealer (again, karma baby) so I feel like it's a lucky spot. In reality it's probably just because I'm not betting $15 minimum/hand and can play longer. With the being said, you can play something like black jack for hours and even if you're doing badly, depending on your bets ($1 minimum) you might only walk out down $20. On that last note: The betting minimums/maximums and the atmosphere tend to lead this place to feel much more laid back than your standard, legit casino. I like that feel a lot better cause you don't get the dummies who bet $100/hand, hit on 16 and then bitch at you for NOT hitting a soft 19. Sorry, I'm good at 19, really rather not turn it into a 13-16. If you're one of those people, don't come here. There are a lot of people who don't fully understand the game and you have to put up with it, but at least they aren't going to cost you too much $$. Bottom line: If you want to play some table games (no slots) at low stakes for a couple hours after a day at the beach come here. If you're looking to be the next Rain Man or whatever and make a killing I'd suggest driving a couple hours south to one of the Native American owned and operated joints. I myself am astonished about these "positive" reviews. While the place is clean and new, I cant say the same about the staff and the service. As a place where the max bet is $4, you can assume I am not writing this review solely on the fact that I lost a lot of money. This place is run by absolute scum bags. While by law they are required to pay into a charitable fund, they could care less. The owners are extremely rude and look down on people in a very unprofessional way. I sat at the bar for 15 minutes waiting to be served, and when the waitress finally stopped jibberjabbering to the bouncer, I asked for a manager, at which I got the very rude reply "why would you need a manager? You didn't even ordered yet." And when the owner came over, I told him about the issue and said "what do you want, a comp in my luxurious hotel?, or how about a free buffet voucher? come on buddy, my girls wouldn't do that" I immediately got up and left. My husband and I went here this past weekend and enjoyed it so much we regret not learning about it until now. It is a small, laid back and low key "casino" that has a bar and outside deck as well. There were about 6-7 tables open on a Sunday night and it was not crowded at all so you could easily get it on any game you wanted too. The employees are so inviting, helpful and down to earth. They actually root for you to win which I really liked because at big casinos the employees act like its a crime if you win. The only thing I was disappointed about was the roulette table. This place has been mine and my boyfriends favorite during our entire vacation. We found ourselves throwing out terrible food from other places and walking back here for more- the bartender, Alfie was our favorite. He remembered us after just one visit so we kept coming back for more. We've been coming to Hampton Beach for many years and this Casino for the past 4-5. We've always enjoyed ourselves, the owner and the majority of the staff has been nothing but great! Had an issue with the blond day bartender in the past (totally ignored me while waiting for a drink) but I just finally got my drinks and went on my way. Same bartender this Sunday afternoon was there, my girlfriend and I stood at the bar for at least 20 minutes while she ran around like she was so busy. Loud & obnoxious and even at one point telling a local that the other girls that were waiting before us "will just have to wait." All this time making drinks first for any "friends" that walked over. Finally I asked her if we could order a few drinks and her comment was "just a minute, " while she did nothing but run her mouth to anyone who would listen. We FINALLY got our drinks and went on the deck. My husband said "geeze I thought you forgot about me." I told him how bad she is (TERRIBLE bartender). Well someone went in and told her we were "bad mouthing" her. I repeated to her exactly what I said to my husband! She cut US off and they asked US to leave! Sorry Tony but how can you allow this? I own a bar and I would NEVER allow my bartender to walk away from the bar to confront someone that has a bad opinion about her. I usually do not do these types of things, but while at Hampton Beach today I decided to stop in for lunch. it was a beautiful day and I decided to sit outside. there were two staff members outside. One offered me a drink and both proceeded inside after. Nobody came back. I sat out there for 10-15 minutes and nobody offered me a menu or asked for my order. There were only 4 - 5 blackjack tables open, that may be the only tables that hey have? We played blackjack, when we sat down there were 5 of us but quickly it got down to 3 of us, which means you loose your money even faster.
