The people I spoke to were very nice. My complaint is that it took them until 3:00pm to let me know that I needed a starter. They would be happy to do that for me for $800.00. Today was an extra special encounter with Vince, who, when informed by myself that my loaner car had a lower fuel level than the document stated it had, blurted out, "Seriously?! How is that not at 3/4 of a tank??", and proceded to talk down to my father, who bought his car new from Ocean, sarcastically about the issue. Are you kidding me? The loaner car was also a filthy, dirty mess on the inside. Just a short review to match the short and rude call with Kyle. I was looking to buy a specific car, had already done my homework and found dealer inventories online. I saw that Ocean Honda had the one I wanted, so I called them up (first mistake). I got Kyle and immediately he went into the tired old car sales guy pitch. I asked him to confirm the car was in stock. The site showed a blue car, but he said it was white (second mistake). I usually email around for quotes, but since I had him on the phone I asked them what their pricing was. He refused to give me a price (third strike). I said I didn't want to waste time with these typical games (When can you come in?). I'm not driving all the way down there to get a worse price than my local Honda dealer. He said he couldn't sell a car if I wasn't at the dealership. Tell that to the many dealers I've bought cars from (one in LA!) that was more than happy to take my money. I bought my car in December of 2016 and have literally had nothing but problems. When I was at the dealership Jeremy, who assured me that car doc took care of everything "bumper to bumper" for 5 years I thought great! My car will always be taken care of. SIKE! I just went to bring my car in the other day because the check engine light came on and was told I would have to go to a chevy dealership. Car doc basically only overs oil changes and stuff like that. Not actual problems your car has. So beware! Car doc is another $500 they scam off you on top of pushing cars. read more

Salesman Chris was friendly and service department was fine when took my old Element in for a recall service. But,.. I wanted to buy a new car (08/2017), test drove one and they were friendly, but wouldn't give me a price on my trade-in or estimate APR even after I gave them my credit score. They only want you to come into the dealership to work a deal, not over the phone, text, or email. I came back again to talk price and they ran my credit when they assured me it wouldn't change my credit score (It most definitely did) and they were pushy. They wanted me to call my wife and make a deal instead of leaving and talking it over. I left. I got a call from Chris, who was nice and I came back in to discuss price. Well, they ran my credit for a second time in four days. The sales manager tried to get me to buy a car in the showroom with the Ivory cloth that I did not want, then suggested that I buy seat covers if I didn't like the color. They act like they are the only Honda dealer in California. Sorry, I'm not even taking my new CR-V (bought today at Sam Linder in Salinas) into Ocean Honda for service. read more

You should read this all the way through to see the games they are playing and lies they are telling. Just a little ironic that they say they are do gooders in the community on their phone message but they scam vulnerable clients at the same time. A car purchased from them by a friend of mine (disabled female) was taken in for service and they found that there was a leak in the axel and that the rear shocks needed to be replaced...at a cost of $2250. They said they weren't sure if it would be covered under the warranty but that they would call her later in the day. They never called her even though she made three attempts to reach them to get an answer. I called that evening and reached someone in the sales department as the service department was closed. I told him that I was calling to cancel a parts order as we needed to know if the repair was covered or not before we made the decision to move forward. He said that there's no guarantee that it would be covered if they determined that the damage was caused by the driver! WHAT??? So what's to keep them from making that determination on every damaged part? It's your word against theirs! THEN... The car has 34,xxx miles on the odometer but the service technician recorded 38,xxxx miles on the paperwork so that it would be out of warranty (36,000 miles). I called the service department for my friend and a woman in the department answered the phone. I told her what happened and she said they would change it but that it wouldn't matter as the repair would not be covered by the warranty since it was only good up to 30,000 miles! That is just a boldface LIE! Car warranties are good to 36,000 miles. God bless my mechanics (SPECIALIZED AUTO) who looked at the car at no cost and found no need for rear shocks and have taken the car to Ocean Honda themselves and are getting the axel work done under the warranty...oh, and no rear shocks necessary! The service manager knew he was now dealing with someone that he couldn't scam and was as helpful and agreeable as could be. The first take away is to beware of this dealership. I'm mad because I really feel scammed by Ocean Honda. The folks there don't care about their customers. They are not transparent about how much their services will cost. I bought a car there and decided to return for services cause I had a relatively good experience buying the car. But, last time I went in there it took me two days before they would be honest with me about what the pricing for everything was. I was down a car but I wasn't too bothered by it because their courtesy shuttle took me there and back so I wasn't struggling with that aspect. Nor did I have much to do, so it was fine for me. The services they performed were definitely sufficient. But I felt like they were trying to play me. This time I wanted to know how much I was paying for before I came in. I asked the woman who I had scheduled the service with to have someone call me and give me an estimate for the cost of the ultimate detail. They never got back to me. I figure, whatever it'll be fine, and show up for my appointment without getting a quote. I arrive for my appointment and give them my car for the service. At that moment is when I'm told that there's not a courtesy shuttle to go back home. They had cars for loan but I didn't have everything necessary with me to rent one of these cars because I hadn't planned on needing to do so. No one had told me there's no courtesy shuttle nor asked if I might need a ride home. Not everyone has multiple cars so to assume that I would be ok, was not very thoughtful. So, I get an uber home and figure my car will be done at least by the end of the day (8pm is when they close), as I dropped it off at 10:45 am and all I got was the ultimate detail and an oil change. A service expert calls me around 4 and ask if it's ok that they work on it till tomorrow. I told the guy that it wasn't cool, because I had no other car. This individual then said that was fine and he'd let the guys who are working on it know this and give me a call back shortly. It's now 9 pm and I don't have my car nor did they call me with an update. I have stuff to do! I don't have another car and I'm not trying to pay a ton of money on Uber. THESE PEOPLE DO NOT CARE ABOUT THEIR CUSTOMERS. THEY'RE TRYING TO SCAM YOU OUT OF YOUR MONEY AND WASTE YOUR TIME. Never going back. read more

WASTE OF TIME .. still fuming..Looks like the sales Narrative is the same and they have done nothing to address the issues. Read through the reviews and had the same encounter. Ocean Honda gets on Yelp and comments that they are sorry and working on it which is clear they haven't since our experience just occurred . Chris a sales manager called me and said they have all the inventory and resources to fit a deal within our parameters to meet our make and model.They had all our info and stats . I Said "I don't want to waste your or our time" so please ensure we can make something work. No exaggeration , we told them everything prior to our arrival and he mentions we can make something work. We get there , identify and drive a car that was exactly what we had discussed (not an upgraded model or make) . Sit around while they punch in the same information that was given to them to only have them run our credit which is excellent and they come back with ..... "We are miles apart". So then wtf did we come here for?There was not one reason for being so far off on the numbers. Not bad credit or junk trade in. So what was the reason for wanting us to spend another 200 per month than agreed? Now , we wanted something that was unreasonable for our budget. We weren't 20 or 50 dollars a month off. We were 200 dollars per month off of our target budget. This is a horrible business practice. Like the other review on here you are left feeling inadequate even if your a qualified buyer with cash down. They put it back on "you" as if you're the issue or problem. There is no issue or problems with us. Just a used car salesmen tactic of get you on the lot and convince you to spend allot more and that you can't do any better anywhere else. I was in with my car on Tuesday and again on Saturday; Dustin was there both days. So I asked him if he works 6 days a week! No, he has Sunday and Wednesday off (between you and I, I would vote for such an excellent performer to get two days off in a row!). Don't believe in the email quote and go there! Its their fake (F A K E) quote! John K, Chris O'Connell etc - You guys are so rude and careless that you really need to attend classes to learn how to treat a customer. You guys are totally unprofessional. Dealership Management - If you are not aware about what generally happens in your dealership, first make efforts to know and rectify that. If you already know and did nothing to rectify it, you should simply close the dealership and lookout for another business. Yelpers - I was helping a close friend of mine in shopping for cars. We requested quotes from various Honda dealerships in the Bay and these guys gave the least quote. My friend lives in San Francisco, so before we plan to drive all the way from SF to this dealership, we called them to make sure the quote is still valid and the car is available. Btw, if I haven't mentioned already, they were really rude on phone and I almost thought of not going at all, but happened to go there for my friend. We then drove for like 3 hrs on peak 101/1 South traffic and reached this place. There we met John K (not sure of his last name that I can't even pronounce) and he asked us to wait, wait and wait. He initially met with other person who said that they both are trying to get some information on the computer and working on our deal. It was after waiting for 30 minutes I went to ask what's happening. John said that they are busy and I have to wait. When I said that its been almost 30 minutes and when I bought my car from other dealership in like 1.3 hrs, and asked why do these guys make us wait for so long without any information and without even working on our business - John K responded that "how much did you buy your car for? if you are getting this car for lesser price, you have to wait". Strike 1, guys! I would simply walkout, but I mentioned "its the process not the price that should decide the wait time.." Some other person came and said that they will be ready in 10 minutes with numbers for us. We waited for another 30 minutes and this time they didn't even pretend to work on our business, it seems they worked on someone else's business and when I asked them this time, they said "We all are busy, if you want to wait you can, or else you...." That's it! This is not how they should treat a customer who was there with a checkbook to buy the car. They are totally unprofessional and I should have at least read their yelp reviews before driving to their dealership. I have been to ocean honda many times for repair for my honda civic. I got a scammy promotion from Ocean Honda that was very misleading and unethical. They inform that you've won a prize and suggest that you've won anything from a car to a flat screen tv (at least). Really, in small letters in a bottom disclaimer, they indicate that more than 99% of everyone (all of the winners) win a simple lottery ticket. It's a shame that a local company has to sink this low to just get customers to come in. Totally not cool for a local company to scam the community! Hope they don't do this again or hope it doesn't set a precedent for other local companies to do the same thing. read more

The shuttle was running behind and he made sure I would be on time to pick up my kids from school. He explained the process to me to make sure I would get a rental next time. I had a terrible experience with the manager at Ocean Honda. My family has boughten several cars from them over the years and, after speaking with their manager, I will never recommend this dealer to anyone. I had a simple question regarding the model of the car my Dad had purchased and they would not tell me the answer for privacy. This is great that they protect their customers however, he literally laughed at me when I asked the question. When I told him he was being rude, he simply became more curt and hung up on me. This is an example of the poor customer service that drives locals to buy over the hill. I am deeply disappointed at the lack of professionalism and customer care that the biggest dealer in town demonstrated today. A little courtesy can go a long way. read more

These guys are a joke the sales managers and the GM seriously need to pull their heads out of their asses. I found a used 2009 Lexus listed online with a a rare manual transmission, went to the lot to find it was an automatic and was listed wrong in the add. The wife still liked it and we test drove the car. She wanted it . Our salesman Rodney was great and we were ready to buy, he sat us down inside and then things started to get stupid. I thought we were waiting to get handed off to some guy named Aldo , who was sitting about 6 feet away from us, but this guy just kept handing notes to our sales man and ignoring us. After a few minutes of this crap I told Rodney to bring him over so I could talk to him directly, which he did, this guy was rude, the first thing he tells me is that there is no negotiation on price at all anymore when you buy a car, the price is firm and I just have to pay that price. he shows me a few adds for other cars with less miles and full warranties and his is priced higher , I make a reasonable offer on the car and he laughs and tells me I am crazy and there is no negotiations in car buying anymore. I get pissed and I walk. the next day I check the add online to see if they have corrected the listing, and I notice there is a button I can click to get the "special internet price" I figure what can it hurt and click the link, enter some info and the phone rings, it's Chris the internet sales guy. Chris is a manager and seems like a team player and I keep asking for the special price , he tells me to come down and see the car and how great it is, and then I tell him I was in last night and left pissed off, so he goes into this whole " you talked to the wrong guy , and it's the GM's wifes car and he wants it gone , come down and I will take you into my office, bring in the GM, and we will make you a great deal and make this happen, and to bring my trade in because that will make the deal happen. So I head back over thinking I am on the fast track and that we are going to make this happen, I pull up and Chris is there waiting for us, walks us inside and hands us off to the GM and our nice sales guy from the day before .....and then he leaves. the GM hands me a printout for the car and tells me the same price from yesterday , and that they do not negotiate at all and how great the deal is and the price is fair and offers me 1000 for the trade in. the car is still thousands over list and they even added 500 in Misc. fees that he didn't feel like explaining further than "DMV and stuff". I walk again, and swear that I will never go back. Drove to Stevens Creek BMW bought a 2011 BMW with a 100k warranty the color I wanted a way nicer car .9 financing and free repair for the next 5 years. And guess what, they sold me the car for thousands below "list" and they even let me talk them down a little more. So I guess I should say thanks to Ocean for pissing me off enough to go to BMW and get a way better deal on a better car. read more

Bunch of cheaters and rude people posing as Honda sales people - Do not believe them and avoid dealing with them I echo the negative sentiments of some of the reviewers here. Wish I had read them before before going there. So I had set up a price for Honda Accord of $20100 before going there. I called up multiple times before going from San Jose to all the way to Santa Cruz just to make sure that would honor what we agreed upon. They said they would honor the price, otherwise would not waste my time. when we reached there, they said forget about what we promised, the price is 21400. This is pretty much everyone else was offering to me in bay area. When I said I had a deal of 20500 from other dealer (btw we bought the car today from the other dealer in 20500), all of them started shouting bye-bye at the top of their lungs. They said some pretty mean things in end when it was clear that I was not going to deal with them and were very disrespectful. Stay away from them. read more

Cliff Notes: For mechanical work, go else where. Ocean Honda is nothing less than extremely disorganized and possibly swindlers. The long version: My Grandma took her 2003 Honda van in for "free" recall work that had to be done. She was originally quoted 3 hours of work time, which was perfect because she's from Santa Clara and came in to town to visit me for the day. When the dealership dropped her off at my house she received a call within 30 mins or so claiming she needed to have her tires rotated, new brakes installed, a new timing belt, and a handful of other things. The recall had to do with the neutral mode on the car, why in the meantime did the mechanic notice all these other things? She even specifically said she did not want to do any other work outside of the recall. Furthermore, my Grandma just had her tires rotated last month, brakes replaced within the last year, and she replaced her timing belt at 50k miles and the van was only at 67k miles now. After the person on the other end of the line explained all this work that had to be done, they quoted my Grandma $2,300! This was genuinely the most expensive "free" fix that I have ever heard of. She takes good care of her car and agreed to do the work because she trusted the dealership. The car was not going to be ready until Monday, which is not a problem because it gave us an excuse to go shopping for new clothes for her and hang out longer. My Grandma cannot get in my car because it's too low to the ground for her, so the dealership agreed to bring her a loaner car at 3pm. Hours went by, she kept calling asking for the car and they kept saying, "we're on our way". We live about 4 miles from the dealership, after 6pm they dropped the car off. In the meantime, my Grandma called them and explained how she did not like to be lied to about times and "just leaving" means "leaving in 0-5 mins". She was so tired of this run-around that she asked for her car back. They said there was no way to do this because everything was taken apart. She told them to put it back together and she would go to her mechanic in Santa Clara. She asked of this after waiting for the loaner car for an hour. If it took the mechanics 30 mins to tear her car apart, why would it take more than 3 horus to put it back together? The dealership told her that they would put it back together and she could pick it up the next day at noon. The next day we rolled in to pick up the car, it was put back together and washed (thanks!). She was charged $1,500 (for what? we're not sure). She and I then started heading down to Moss Landing for an early dinner (known fact: All Grandmas eat early dinners). Right before I hit Watsonville 2 lights came on her dash. I pulled over, read what they were in the owners manual. One was an emissions problem, I cranked the living day lights out of the cap and it remained on. The other was Traction Control, I pushed the button to turn it off, on, etc, nothing ... the light remained on. My Grandma called the dealership, they said the gas cap light won't go off unless you go back to the dealership to have it reset (what the hell), then the guy said it was my Grandma's fault the light came on because when she last got gas it was not tightened enough. Dear goodness, she got gas a few days before driving over to see me and in the meantime drove well over 100 miles .... yet the light did not come on until after she took the car into the dealership. I don't know how this story ends, she is at the dealership right now having the computer in her car reset so that the lights go off. The only ending that I know, is she will not be revising Ocean Honda any time soon. read more

First of all, this is about "buying a new car (accord)" but nothing else. I am in no position in judging other matter, but I just want to share what happened to me. Well, as a "internet" shopper, before buying a car, I already got quote from at least 10 dealers and one of them give me a very decent quote X for a new honda accord. The guy, Chris, called me and told me he really really want to do a business with me and he will call the owner to beat the deal. Also, he replied my email almost instantly six times. We chatted over the phone three times and he told me that he can't promise nothing til I show up to show I'm a true buyer, wanting a car immediately. Well, driving to the beautiful santa cruz is not that painful and the traffic is light, but it still take 30-40 mins. I promise to arrive at 3PM but actually I arrive at 3:10pm, and for some reason Chris NEVER talk to me even I keep asking for Chris over and over again. Don't get me wrong, I did not insist to do business with Chris, anyone is fine. A co-worker show me the car, and you know what happens, do the test drive, and then we start negotiating the price. The funny thing now starts, I 100% emailed the quote to Chris and somehow he is gone and none testify it. No problem, I got a print-copy with me. By that moment I were still thinking Chris were helping other customer... so I don't really bother. Guess what, the first quote I got before showing the print-copy is X+2500, you are right... so you are 2500 more expensive for a Accord LX and you say you can beat the quote? Well, I walk out the door without even bother to negotiate and guess what, well, the manager show up, then his manager. They keep showing me proof (which I doubt) saying that the quote I got is a trick/scam or what so ever. Let's face it, I'm not fool and I know the reason I got cheap price is because the dealer who gave me the best quote reside in the middle of nowhere, and it takes 1 hour drive and that's why. I show than "another" quote, a "quote" from a dealer I bought car before and I know they are not scam. It's about X+500. Honestly, I rather trade 500 for 1 (or 2 hour round-trip) because I got a toddler traveling with me, and since I'm already in this deal, I just want to close a deal, so I don't want to even to bother asking them to match the price. As I said, I'm not that nit-picking on price, 500 more seems to be a very reasonable deal. It's a "slightly below 33%" price everyone can see in any "truecar" dot com website. Well, general manager show up (but where is chris, the guy who promise to do his best to beat the quote X), the general manager show me his "cost" is higher than X, and told me that he is willing to lose money, and the final offer is about X+1000 I walk out again, and the salesman is waiting there. I know there's a room for further negotiating, probably somewhere between X+500 ~ X+1000. But you know what, suddenly I realize it's all about car-buying-game. I have been helping people buy car many time and read article over and over. I know what is going to happen. Don't get me wrong, they do every trick old-school dealer would do. I don't blame them for any of those trick or strategy. It's a game everyone know and everyone is in play. But guess what, I'm tired of such a stupid game. I make a phone call to anderson honda and they are willing to make me X+500. Will they play the game again? Hope not., because this time I got a confirmation from not only a guy but also the sales manager over the phone. I write this review, and give it one star, simply because (1) they waste me the whole afternoon (2) the Chris never show up and apologize (let's face it, I can't force you to sell me a car and loss money, but bottom line, if you make an appointment with me and ask me to come for 40 mins drive. Please show up and say hello. ) I know the good-bad-cop game, but this is just way over. It's simply a scam to having someone show up. (3) they "happened" to have and to show me a car sticker from the dealer who offer me quote X and on that sticker it comes with lot's of lo-jack, 3m, blabla accessary and told me that's why the price is low. They try to sell me a story that the other dealer is "trick-player". Let's face it. I know X is probably not true or the color choice is very limiter or what's so ever. But please, this is very simple, just tell me the out-the-door-price and "yes"/"no". (4) I was expecting to come, write a check, and drive a car away in 10 mins, and it take me more than 1 hour with nothing left with me. Again, the above review is very subjective and likely biased. It contains perception on my end, and probably not the "entire" story from all angles. Anyway, the review only reflect my feeling about enduring an unhappy shopping experience. Stupid me, I lost my keys and had to get my car towed to Ocean Honda. Before towing, I called to let them know I was coming, and was either put on hold, or forgot about at least three times. When I arrived at the dealership, I walked into the service department, and the two Service Reps were busy. I finally got ushered to the parts departement where someone named Manuel made the situation less bad. He was great. After he told me about the parts I needed and cost, he sent me back to the service representative. i waited--again. Finally he has time for me, barely pays attention to what I'm saying and tells me my car would be ready until the next morning. Ok. Also since it's there, I had my passenger seat belt replaced and an SRS light that was on looked into. The next day, I never hear from them. I end up calling and he tells me my car is done, but they need to order the seat belt and I will need to come back. When I arrive to get my car, a good 20 minutes goes by before I am even helped. I make a second appointment and leave. When i bring my car back in to get the seat belt replaced, no one greets me. I walk in, and they usher me back outside and tell me to wait by my car for the service representative. 10-15-20 minutes go by. Im just standing there outside. He finally comes out, and says "you dont need a ride do you?"---come on, sorry for the inconvenience. My car was supposed to be done at 2, dont hear from them, and call end up calling at 430. It's done. I go to pick it up, wait, again... a good 30 min later I'm finally out of there. An hour later, a passenger tries to buckle, and THEY DIDNT EVEN FIX IT. What was my car doing there for 9 hours?!! I call him back and he's full of excuses. I end up making a THIRD appointment. Just like before, stand outside for 20 minutes in the cold to be greeted, never called to me my car is ready, and took another 20-30 minutes to get the hell out of there. After that long ass rant---Stay away. I will. They should really listen and respect their customers time. read more

I've been back and forth with Chris O'Connel of Ocean Honda for the better part of my day. I wanted a price in email before coming down to the dealership. The quote I received was based on a lease that added $2k to the price he gave me verbally. He then explained I would have to come in to speak with the owner of the dealership and directly negotiate the price. When I asked why I would have to do this he ended the conversation by hanging upon me. Now that I've seen the other reviews, I'm glad I didn't waste my day. read more

I am very happy with my experience with Ocean Honda and Clay in particular! Nice guy, I made him drive with me to my home twice to try out a couple of different cars, I ended up getting a 2018 Honda CR-V, 2WD EX w/leather. After owning the same car for almost 17 years, I went for it and got all the bells and whistles at a great rate. Though I was tempted to drive to Salinas or San Jose, I was happy to stay local and they worked with me to ensure an amazing deal. Clay helped me program the car and synced it to my iphone, amazing what this car can do! I just want to drive all day, everyday! read more

This review is of the service department only, and and this particular experience occurred at the new location. I had a 1994 Accord that I needed 200K mile service on. The car was running great, I'd had no problems with it in several years. Yes, it was an old car with a ton of miles, but I kept the maintenance up on the car and planned on keeping it for a few more years. Well, as you may be able to tell from the past tense "had" and "planned", the car no longer runs. And I blame it on Ocean Honda. I dropped my car off the night before for the "early bird" appointment and planned on it being there for the day and I'd pick it up that evening. Well, that did not happen. I received a phone call that I needed a new radiator (again, my car was running FINE, no overheating, no fluid loss, nothing). I am always skeptical when it comes to car repairs because I am young and female and feel like I'm being taken advantage of. I questioned the guy on the phone and told him I hadn't been having any problems with the car, and had not been losing fluid, to which he explained there was a crack on the top of the radiator, so the fluid was being lost, but evaporating rather than dripping on the ground. Ok, sounds reasonable. I told him, however, that I wanted to get a second opinion before putting that much money into this car, especially considering the age and miles on it. He told me he could look into the cost of an after-market radiator to save me some money, and call me back. I agreed. About 2 hours later, I received a call back stating that he had some bad news (GREAT). He took another tech out there to take a look at the radiator, and when he was "diagnosing" the radiator problem, he broke off something on the top of the radiator, which meant the car wasn't drive-able whatsoever now. Needless to say, I was pissed. My dad ended up taking over and the service manager sold me an after-market radiator at cost and didn't charge me for labor. I was still upset because I wasn't planning on replacing the radiator at all, but didn't feel like I had a choice. It gets worse. I drove the car home to San Jose (my parents live in Santa Cruz, and had taken it there because I was staying with my parents for the weekend), and didn't have any problems with it until the following weekend. I was driving over Hwy 17 to Santa Cruz and had the AC on. I had driven a little over 5 miles when I noticed my engine heat gage quickly rising up toward the red zone. I had to get off the freeway and pull on to the side of the road because the gage was getting up to the red zone & I was now having steam pour out from under the hood. I had to call AAA and wait over an hour for them to come tow me to South Bay Honda. Turns out Ocean Honda "forgot" to connect the fan when they replaced the radiator. Ocean Honda reimbursed me for the cost of the South Bay Honda bill (after a not-so-nice letter from my father). And it continues...a few days later, I'm driving home from work and there's steam and the smell of coolant coming from under the hood. My roommates and I detect a pin sized hole in one of the radiator hoses. I am convinced someone at Ocean Honda was upset they didn't get paid for any labor charges when they replaced my radiator, and "accidentally" forgot to connect the fan and also "accidentally" poked a hole in the hose. Of course I cannot prove any of it, but I can definitely spread the word to all my friends and anyone who's considering taking their car here for repairs! I'll never step foot in their service center ever again, and neither will any of my family members who also drive Hondas. read more

I had the misfortune of calling Ocean Honda's Service Dept. for help in retrieving my 5 digit radio code after a dead battery killed my stereo system. I was told that the stereo would have to be pulled out in order to get the serial number which would then allow me to get the code needed to turn stereo back on. They would do this for minimum $100.00 or it was suggested that I could purchase a new stereo. What they didn't tell me is that Honda has a web site that will give you the code for free with vin # and serial # which is located in the glove box. Thanks alot Ocean Honda for trying to rip me off!!!!! read more

I was undecided on what I wanted and went to Ocean to look at a certified used accord they had on the lot. I dove it and it was OK, but for a minor price difference I could get new. They did not have the particular accord I wanted ready for test drive so I left. The next day, I get a call that they have a car I could drive - that was fast. I was told to come in the owner is there an loves to make deals. OK, maybe I will get a new car if I can get a great deal. I drive the new car and like it better than the used one. They did not have the color I want and they insist on having me meet the owner. OK fine, I don't have time for this and really only was there to test drive the car. So I meet him and he wants to make a deal. Sure, give me a great deal and we'll talk. He offers me a sports model on the lot that was definitely not the one I wanted. He leaves to work numbers. When he returns, his 'great deal' is MSRP. Wait, who pays MSRP for a new, a model they really didn't want, that's on the lot? Well, I said it's not really the Accord I want and still tries to convince me he is offering a great deal. He tells me if we cannot do a deal on this car, it's unlikely we'll do a deal on another one. That comment was all that resonated with me when I left. I realized, he was right, we would never do a deal if the deal is MSRP for cars on his lot. You don't have to look far to find better deals without even trying hard. If you are in the Soquel area and 1) don't want to drive the hill and 2) don't mind paying MSRP, then you may find Ocean to be a fantastic dealership - especially if you get to meet the dealership owner and get his great offer which will likely be MSRP. This is one of the worst places I have been. I bought a car here in 2011 (HA) and there has been a clicking annoying noise that has not gone off 4 years later. I don't trust the people here. Two weeks ago I went to get an oil change and I was left outside waiting for almost an hour because they "couldn't find my keys". When I began to complain, the manager said, "We'll probably have to make you a new key". Well, my apartment key, work keys, etc... were one there...so...??? Then the manager tried to get me to relax by smiling and asking me, "Hey...have you ever in your life made a mistake?" Very Smug. Very impolite. Very bad service. read more

I bought my previous Honda at Ocean Honda 3 years ago. When I decided it was time to buy a new one I went back to Ocean Honda. The salesmen were rude, condescending, and disrespectful. They advertised 125 percent of cash value on your trade and offered me 75 percent. After owning Honda's for the past 15 years ( 9 different cars). I will never ever go to this dealer again. Scum of the Earth! Avoid this dealership at all costs. They are dishonest, blatant liars. I arranged to purchase a vehicle at another dealership, but these jokers kept calling and guaranteed they could honor my price. Before driving over to their hell hole I asked 3 separate times for a confirmation of the price. Despite their reassurances when I arrived they told me there was no way they could ever offer the vehicle at our agreed upon price. There is nothing but lies and deception at this place. Supposedly the vehicle was sitting right there on the lot waiting for a test drive. When I arrived there was no vehicle. They didn't even have the color that was supposedly waiting anywhere in their dealer network. If you are accidentally driving on Soquel Avenue and see this place, step on the gas and get out of there as fast as you can! read more
