This hidden Hingham gem is just over the Quincy Shipyard bridge on 3A, right on the main strip. It a local bar and Chinese food restaurant. Old school in the sense that you can order those crispy chicken fingers and egg foo young from a friendly and accommodating server. The bar is to the left and wraps around to the dining room. You can sit in the comfortable booths and enjoy the your favorite spots on the large TV and sip on drinks from Truly to gin & tonic. The atmosphere is like sitting at home. I was pleasantly surprised! We got the ocean Kai platter and veggie fried rice and it was yummy!

No one at the door to greet me. Stood there over 5 min til I decided to knock on kitchen door. She. came out with can I help you. No hello just go sit any where . I asked if she served tea and water and said yes. Got my drinks had to ask for sugar oops only 2 packets gotta ask for more but no spoons I'll deal. Should my you automatically serve these things with tea? Food came rice tasted like soy sauce and must have loads of msg cause my head was spinning. Loaded with pork chunks but nothing else and quite just there and not tasty. The ribs fortunately had some not moist but not dried out either meat on one side of each rib. Chicken fingers perfect but sweet and sour sauce was a glob of corn syrup with 2 cherries. Waitress was a br tender so no interested in me in the dining room. Never said enjoy or do you need anything. Bill came got charged $2 for tea but never told it wasn't free. I brought that up she was argumentative and said they have charged for years well if I never came there how would I know. Not paying it sh grabbed check and rolled it in a ball and then proceeded to tell me that they usually charge for sauces and didn't . She gave me a small container of duck sauce and sweet and sour sauce for my chicken. I said that was not extra it came with my meal and I paid for it . She stomped away, threw a new check on the table and walked away . If you don't drink you are not worth their efforts should I have still tipped her 30 0/0 ? read more

I came here unexpectedly after leaving a doctors appointment and craving a mai tai and some Chinese food. When I came in and sat down the server was very nice and grabbed me a Mai tai and menu very shortly after I sat down. I will say I was a little disappointed in the food... came out in about 10 minutes after ordering, wings and chicken fingers were a little underdone, but of course I still ate it all lol because I was hungry. I will say this is a good place to definitely get a drink and maybe an appetizer or 2, but not sure about getting anything more as even review wise many have spoke about the food just not being the best. To be fair I will try it again as sometimes a restaurant isn't consistent and could just be having an off day. read more

the food was ok. The kitchen is very very Americanized chinese (probably canonteese crossed with Indiana). It was better than chinese food in Ireland (what a bad idea) and rural MN. The food is at best slightly greasy. The poo-poo platter was greasy but good value. The boneless spareribs are good, but can be a bit overdone. the chicken wings are plain, but nice. The Mushu was ok. the pancakes were good. hoisin amount was stingy. the general gau's was warned to be spicy, it was in the end ok and only spicy if you are from rural Minnesota and think that black pepper must be used sparingly. not enough sauce. The H&S soup was bland and grossly overpriced (but, see poo-poo platter, which was good value), but perhaps spicy in a rural MN way. Next time, I would spice it up. The green beans with minced pork had a lot of pork, which IMHO is not the point of that dish. The portions were generally good enough and it was done fairly rapidly. If you like this food, you might like Chinese food. If you like chinese food, you might like this. The service is friendly enough. they have been helpful on the phone. I will probably go back, and will try some of what people think are good. But, geez. if you think this is the best food ever or even excellent you need to get out more. It is marginally acceptable. If you think it is "unremarkable", and then comment on it, now, that is amusing. read more

From the food to the decor to the staff to the dishware, the whole place feels stuck in 1966. Cracked vinyl booths and chipped-paint walls. Hostess couldn't have cared less when we walked in, and our waitress was frazzled the entire time with that far away look that screams, "please get me the hell out of here.." I stepped back in time and went here for a late hungover lunch on a Sunday a couple of weeks ago. We were going to get takeout but decided at the last minute to just eat there. I think I ate here once before with my uncle for my 13th birthday. I don't think anything in this place has changed since then - not even the oil. Greasy egg rolls. Check. First off, I just popped in for a little take-out, so this isn't an extensive review. I got chicken fingers and chicken lo mein. The lo mein noodles were not the kind I have had in other restaurants. It was a chicken soup noodle. Sauce was ok, chicken was good and bad. The chicken fingers were perfect. The setup is strange. You come through front door to small vestibule, go left there is a reception area and maybe a dozen tables? Is there another room? Otherwise it's small. The door on the right is labelled "cocktail lounge". The door is hollow panel. Seems cheap. I wouldn't go to eat, but I might see how the do on a fancy drink. I will try chow mein since the fingers were good. I'm open to trying it one more time because it is directly on my route home. Also this was a Tuesday night so it might be more impressive on the weekend. read more

Food was about three stars. Decent, hot, fast and good price. Pad thai was ok, mushi beef and boneless spareribs as well. Service was a zero whereas the waitress was horrible. We had to ask for water and tea three times. Everyone we said thank you she did not respond. She was not interested or helpful in refilling soda, water or duck sauce.
