    Clean up your streets.

Stayed at the Ocean Manor on 11th street. Had a balcony view. Ocean view was blocked by 7 story building and infested with sea gulls. I don't know how this is a three star hotel? The original building is a bit run down. It was like staying at grandmas house from the era of the 50s to the 70s. All other guests were over 65 years old. Bibles got a bit excessive all over the place like that would make me feel guilty for writing an honest review. Reminds me of the Adams Family with all the sculptures and old peeling wall paper. Seems like they put their profits into the newer buildings and just let go of the original. See pic of old pay phone out front on side walk. Old rusted bicycles chained to poles across the street. See my review on the island itself. Ocean City, NJ They make their money and walk away. South side taken over by the rich.

Pros: Friendly Staff, charming but dated decor in the Main common parts of the Inn. We stayed in the family suite and it was updated, airy, bright, and was decorated nicely. Beds were comfy. 1 block from the beach was a score at the rate we got on booking.com. The balconies were cozy to sit , have a cup of coffee and enjoy the view. Cons: No linens were left for the sofa bed, half a roll of toilet paper left upon our arrival with no spares in the suite for a family of 5. Every window in our room had some issue. They either wouldn't stay open, had holes in the screens, or had no screens at all. I will say they noise above us at 7:30am was awful. It literally sounded like people moving for furniture across the floor for over 2 hours.

Wires hanging freely behind the t.v. cable cuts out too.

This place is more than fraudulent with the pics and room description. Electrical outlets not working, bathroom fan falling out of the ceiling. I damaged my hand on the rusted out chair on the balcony. The toilet doesn't work properly, the sink doesn't drain. A cluster of electrical cords hanging from the t v., Cable cuts out,the air-conditioning only services one bedroom. I wouldn't seek refuge here, there is no refuge to be had. Politely called the front desk about all the noise from up stairs. The reply was "It's okay, they have slot of small children". And that is where the concern ended. We left a day early. We were only supposed to be here for 3. Please don't waste your families time or money. House keeping supposed to be done by 1, waited until 2 to come back from the beach so we had clean towels, nope...the first night we stayed my daughter found sand in the other bed. Good thing we had our own sheets as a precaution.

We meet with Lisa and did a walk around the ballroom and garden room. Lisa made us feel so welcomed and explained our options and answered our questions. We immediately booked our destination wedding which occurred on May 23,2026. All our family and friend reside in Brooklyn, Queens, Staten Island, Manhattan, Long Island, and New Jersey. Lisa and Molly began to help us find vendors by providing us with a vendor list. We chose everything from their list, and we were very happy with their vendor list. We booked a block of rooms for our family and friends. Lisa and Molly kept in contact with us the entire time. We went down for a food tasting, and we knew this wedding was going to be amazing. We meet the chef and maître d who will be taking care of us. The food was amazing. The room was set up perfectly. Our cocktail hour was great. There was plenty of staff on hand to make out wedding amazing. Lisa and Molly were both honest, professional, caring, and overall friendly. They answered the million emails I sent them, took my phone calls, and helped us from day one till the ending of our wedding weekend with the brunch. The wedding party went on without any hitches or issues. Our guests spoke about how wonderful and attentive the staff was, how beautiful and clean the ballroom was, how clean the bathrooms were, and how amazing the food was. We had plenty of space for dancing, a photobooth, rolling bar, coffee station, and seating for our guests. The food was served at a good pace and served hot. I did not feel rushed at all. When the night was over, the staff packed everything up for us and transported it to our room. The next morning, we hosted a brunch. The staff was so attentive at the brunch. All the breakfast food was so good. They cleared plates and continued to bring out more breakfast items during the whole time. Lisa was with us on the night of the wedding and at the brunch the next day. I have to say, we were so pleased with Lisa and her staff and the Flanders. If you're looking for a nice, easy going, fun wedding, you need to book here.

Booking this hotel was a nightmare. I called to get a rate and ask questions. I called 4x and no one picked up. Out of desperation, I finally sent an email. I got a call the next day with a rate. However, when I tried to book that rate online, it was different. So, now I am trying to call the hotel again. Again, called 3x and no one picks up so I leave a message. I get a returned call and am told the online booking "includes a resort fee, but we can put that back on your credit card or I can take your card over the phone with the lower rate." I opted to pay over the phone (for the record, it's one of those hotels that charges you for using a credit card.). I was told to call the day before our arrival and advise when I'd like to check in because they would try to accommodate. This is a nice gesture and I appreciate it, but it's not nice when you call and guess what? No one picks up! We called the morning of our arrival and they did accommodate an early check in which was nice. You should know that you check in in 1 building and walk to another where you are actually staying. There is no security. Anyone can walk into the hotel (no lobby). You are literally walking into a hall with an elevator and there are no safeguards like needing a room key to make the elevator work. (They use old fashioned keys.) Room was cheerful, clean and looked like the photos. Our bathroom had a window that the view was a hallway. You had to put a screen down or people walking bay could see into your bathroom/shower. Odd. I would also say the walls are very thin. You can hear everyone and anyone walking past your door, etc. We went to OC for First Night and spend NYE having a wonderful time there, but when got back at midnight, there was no hot water. None. We were all freezing and none of us could take a shower. Sadly, I called the "front desk" and surprise! No one picked up. I called 3x. When I checked out, they said "The envelope with the keys had an emergency phone number on it. You should have called that. This makes no sense. The info on the phone in the room gives you a front desk number. I explained my frustration. The desk person said he'd try to get some compensation. 2 days later I got an email that $30 was taken off the room. I called to confirm this was for the lack of hot water. The same man who was at check out is who I spoke to. "I was able to discount the room rate, but I need to discuss with the owners anything else. I will call you on Tuesday and let you know what happens." Today is Wednesday and never heard from them. I am rating them "poor" because they never followed up. I had no expectations about further compensation, but please please please don't say you will follow and then not do so. Poor form.

My only complaint is that the futon in the living room as ridiculously uncomfortable. But thankfully the beds were super comfy! The pool at the hotel is really nice and there are plenty of chairs, so you don't have to get up at dawn and throw your beach towels down! It's heated too. The beach and boardwalk are in walking distance as well so there's always something to do. My family and I have been staying here for years and will continue to do so! Highly recommended.

Considering what it used to be it looks horrendous and just terrible. It used to be a landmark and a famous hotel on OC with beautiful plants, facade, a cool waterfall and looked like a nice little tropical escape. Yeah 4 years ago were the rooms looking a little worn and needing renovation but it was still cleaner than any other hotel I was ever in and noting broken. The pool was so much fun, plenty of shade a really cool waterfall, nice tropical plants. The office was warm and welcoming. Now it's just a hunk of "modernization" if that makes sense. The office looks like a dentist office. All white, no character. The famous exterior lava rock , plants, and waterfall... gone. Plain old wood panels with the "modern" white wood tile things. All the plants are gone in the front and replaced with grass. Everything is white, gray, and blue gray. For lack of better words it looks like crap. Worst thing tho is the pool looks sad and empty, no more waterfall. ITS GONE!!! It looks like how the pool used to look in the 60's and 70's. The fun welcoming atmosphere is gone. And it's sad to see it go. Ocean city lost a gem, hopefully to be one day restored to its former glory. The new owners made a promise to continue the legacy of the hotel and keep the name. LIARS!!!! It's now named "Ocean's Edge" and are quickly killing (if they haven't already) the legacy.
