I thought this place was just ok. I got a shellac manicure. The manicure was itself was about $30, which I thought was pretty standard for downtown seattle. The manicure was okay, slightly uneven as the polish pooled in certain places. Not sure if that is normal when getting shellac as it was my first time. Otherwise it was an okay place. read more

This was my first time here, I was in the area and wanted a manicure and pedicure. They offered a combo for $45 that involved a little hot stone foot massage - done, I was in. The setting was bright and sunny, great polish selection, clean, friendly faces. The pedicure felt great and I enjoyed the massage chair. All was going well when a second employee came over and started on my manicure when I was still in the pedicure chair. Yes! This would save me time and I was already relaxing, could this get any better? Well, no. It turns out, not sitting at a proper manicure station with better light led to what I'd call a "bang up job" by the manicurist. I had a dark polish put on and when I moved to the drying station I finally got a good look; uneven along the cuticles, didn't cover my whole nail bed, polish on the skin around my nails, and the top coat didn't go to the tip of the nail. The result was bumpy, lumpy looking steps and ridges. Meh. The manager, or owner, noticed me noticing this and I told her what I saw. She called the manicurist over to touch them up which made me feel good. At least they were acknowledging and fixing the issue. The problem is, she only went over the bad parts, creating more bumps and more steps. I understand that other types of manicures, like acrylics or french manicures perhaps cost more and so they're given more attention, but I would expect at least a decent job on a straight forward polish. I could have done a better job while driving during rush hour. I hate to leave a bad review, and I wanted to like this place since I was in town celebrating my anniversary, but I've looked at terrible nails for 5 days and have to finally write this. They started chipping on day 2, like other reviews said, and this is because the top coat wasn't applied thoroughly. I'm not much of a nail salon girl, so I I'm disappointed my one time to get pampered went so poorly. read more

Since I bartend and serve tables 40+ hours a week, my nails tend to be in terrible condition from always being in soapy water or sanitizing solutions. Regular manis don't cut it for me, polish chips too easily and then my nails are just no good. Thankfully, the ladies at Oceans are great with the shellac manicures. Generally I've been going every two weeks, maybe three. They're a ten minute walk from where I live and work, and they do a great job. With a wide selection of colors, im able to switch upon my mood or current events, like Seahawks colors for the NFC championship game. My nails haven't chipped any more than what's expected from normal wear and year, but most importantly the shellac prevents harsh solutions from making my nails peel, allowing them to grow again. Also, the hand massage they do is amazing. It's always nice and clean in there, all the ladies are super nice but speak very little English. Oh and I've gotten a pedi there. It was awesome! Hot stones, wax, warm towels and massage. And of course pretty polish. read more

The team here is phenomenal! I'm in from Chicago and had a few hours to kill after long days of meetings and the girls here did a paraffin pedicure, gel manicure and mini back/neck massage.. Second time coming here and I recommend Ocean highly Though it is not my usual salon. I generally go to a place on the East side near my house, but sometimes, nail emergencies happen. Ocean is convenient to Pioneer Square and the Pike Place and Financial districts, and I have always had good luck popping in on my lunch. Both times I have walked in straight away and got a fill with a glitter ombre and they have turned out beautifully. Everyone here is friendly and do excellent work. It costs a little more than my usual place, but for a spa downtown I can walk into without an appointment and get beautiful work done I am more than happy to pay the difference (which isn't much anyway, I might add). Definitely worth a visit! read more

I was hoping the mediocre reviews were wrong so I took a chance and got a shellac mani here ($30). They were extremely friendly and pleasant which is why I gave them 2 stars instead of one. The service felt very rushed, my cuticles are poorly trimmed, they didn't cure the shellac long enough (it's already kind of peeling and tacky 2 hours later) and the massage was extemely short for the price. I don't have time to go back there to ask them to fix it, c'est la vie. I haven't tried many other walk-in nail salons downtown but not impressed with this one! read more

Of all the things I thought I would miss leaving San Francisco, never did I imagine that top among them would be my nail salon. Who knew I wouldn't be able to find one on every corner in Seattle. Evidently people in the PNW only get nails done in the summer? Ah well...I tried a few (truly horrid) places in the Seattle metro area. While on a trip to downtown Seattle I happened past Ocean Nail's. They weren't busy, the place looked nice, I had a bit of time, and so I gave them a try. So glad I did! I was the only customer, which aligns with the comment on PNW and summer nails only (really ladies...cute toes are good year round!)...and it might explain the great service....but regardless, it was a pleasure. They handed us colors to choose form, they didn't have the colors we wanted in stock. They missed up on nails multiply times. We felt like she was rushing and didn't take her time. It's over priced and the quality isn't good. Definitely not coming back. read more

I just got my first shellac mani here and am quite impressed. It is clean and very well decorated in there. I was so pleasantly surprised by how quick they were, granted it was a Monday morning, but they got me in right away and then I was in and out of there in 35 minutes. I have never had anyone go over my nails so well AFTER the manicure to make sure they all looked great. I would not recommend going here if you want a wonderfully relaxing manicure but I liked he quick efficiency. read more

Ocean Nail & Spa is the prettiest, cleanest and most relaxing nail salon in downtown Seattle. The staff is always very kind, gracious and will chat with you until they understand exactly what you want. Today Helen did my acrylic nails and I am so impressed with her perfectionism and the care that she put into my nails. I always wear french tips and a clear coat and she made my nails look beautiful. Two words. Toenail fungus. I just took my polish off, and I have a white toenail fungus on most of my toenails. This is the only place I've had a pedicure, and I've never had a toenail fungus. I'm totally disgusted. I should have known better, as I noticed they don't clean out the foot soaking tubs. They just refill them after draining them after the previous client. Shouldn't they spray some cleanser in the tubs after each use? I was new to pedicures, so I thought it was ok. Apparently not. Now I have to get rid of a toe fungus. This place looks clean from the outside, but to not clean out the tubs is gross. I'm guessing their files are not clean either. I'd pass on this place. read more

One of the best experiences I've ever had a nail salon. The ladies were very nice, speak English well and nice spa chairs. They have really great prices and large color selection. They're open until 7:30 which is also very nice. I like my nails super short ans super square and she did exactly what I asked and the best I've had them. I live in Harbor Steps apartments and went there for the first. I received a pedicure that was alright. The technician caused my toe to bleed whiling picking at it, but the worst thing that happen is they charged $10 to my debit card without my permission! I tipped the technician with cash, but when the charge with through a few days later, my card was charged for $10 more than I authorized or signed for. I do not suggest that anyone goes there unless you paying cash! read more

I waited months for my thick embarrassing eyebrows to grow out just so that I could have them cleaned and shaped into great looking eyebrows. I came to this place for the first time ever and was hoping for the best. I was SEVERELY let down. First of all, when she applied the wax, it felt like she put hot wax on a broken pencil because of how roughly she was applying it, second, she obviously was in a hurry as if she had to go back to another client. The results: one eyebrow missing an end and was obviously shorter than the other, the shape was different on both eyebrows and barely was in the shape of an eyebrow, and there was still hair left in between my eyebrows. I was so furious I just payed and walked out. Now I will have to wait another dreadful three months for my eyebrows to grow out again so that this damage can be fixed. I will never go back to this place for an eyebrow wax again. read more

I like this place quite a bit. It is much more expensive than the Queen Bee salon just a block away, but it is a higher quality experience. You can choose your level of pedi ($25-45, I believe) and then a manicure is added for $10 if you like. It was a good quality mani/pedi, and the polish lasted quite a bit longer than it usually does, without chipping. You get what you pay for, and it is still a good value. A super fancy mani/pedi is $60 and includes massages and treatments and all sorts of goodies. read more

When I spend money and go to get my nails done, I expect it to look better than if I did them myself! My nails were so sloppy and uneven that I could of done a better job. Not to mention, she made my finger bleed and made all of my nails have a different shape and length. I had to watch her the whole time and tell her what to do. Very unpleasant experience! read more

The nail techs were polite and gentle. Overall this was a fun experience. We were doing some shopping, and wanted to get off our feet for a bit. So, we decided to get a pedicure done before heading to the Pike Place Market. The ladies working there were very sweet, and were able to take us right away. But, I didn't like how my lady rushed the pedicure. She barely cleaned up my cuticles, and when she grabbed the nail clippers, she looked at them and got up to grab new ones. I'm glad she got a different pair, but they were from the other lady's station. I began to worry that these clippers had just been used on the girl next to me. Oh well, try not to think about it. I was looking forward to the massage, and even that was underwhelming. I like massages to be slower paced, and more relaxed. She just kept digging her knuckle into my legs and feet, which made me worry about getting bruises on my legs (she was quite rough). She did a good job with the polish, and my nails still look good with no chips 3 days later. But, I just did not like how rushed the experience was. I felt like she wanted me to leave as soon as possible. Well actually, shortly after she finished with me, her daughter came in, so that's probably why she was rushing. They took me in for a pedicure right away and were friendly, courteous, etc. The woman was a little rough with my feet--cut my nails a bit short, so they hurt; and while massaging my legs, kept going over a bruise that was painful. In her defense, I had not pointed out the bruise and asked her to avoid it. The overall product looks good and I'm happy with it. read more
