This place closed for Covid and thought it was a change to go there as they recently reopened. The place was very clean and spacious. Cloth table cloths in white and looked new. We had the party for four and sweet and sour beef. I got to say it was very very good. All came hot and we dug in right away. The party for four consisted of 4 egg rolls that were done perfectly and hot, prawns with hot vegetables, lemon chicken, special chow main and special fried rice. Service was a bit slow for me and in traditional style, the food came dish by dish as it was cooked up in the kitchen. It is the next best thing for Chinese food south of the river. read more

We always enjoy our meals at the Ocean Palace. It's a no-brainer when we wanna go out for a reasonable priced dinner.

We had a delicious meal here. Large menu with several vegetarian/vegan options. Vegetable egg rolls were fresh and nicely crisped. Complementary jasmine tea was hot and tasty. Ordered the 3-item dinner special (sweet & sour boneless pork, special fried rice and chow mein). Every single piece of "pork" was inedible gristle. The rice had only 2 pieces of shrimp. We are always very happy with the food and delivery service from Ocean Palace. We have ordered from them for many years and it has been consistently good. When dining in their restaurant, there is one waiter that could use an attitude adjustment i.e. smile and let the customer feel welcome. We go for the food though, not the waiter :-) read more

Yesterday, couldn't get through by phone, so drove there and ordered in person. Was told it would be one and a half hour wait. I prepaid my order of $130. My number was taken for them to call me I waited an hour and a quarter and no call so tried calling them couldn't get through the first time. Did get through after a few tries and was put on hold only to be disconnected. Drove there to pick it up and was told there would be another half hour wait. If you're looking for a Chinese restaurant that puts blame on the customer when they get your order wrong then you've come to the right place! We called and told them they gave us the wrong soup but they insisted we ordered it, they refused to change it out for the right dish , argued over the phone and refused to get the owner on the phone to resolve it. My wife and I went down there to take back the soup and told them how ridiculous it is to fight over a tub of soup. The only thing they did was tell us we're wrong and fought tooth and nail over the order insisting they're right . What kind of restaurant treats customers like this? Oceans palace apparently! When you run a restaurant and you're too cheap to replace an order such as soup you know you've got problems!! Any respectable restaurant would gladly replace it and treat you as a valued customer. Well we moved to Tsawwassen from Ladner where Ladner Ming Crt was our go to place. Thought we would try something new. Worst chicken balls we have ever had. Even kids would not eat them. Doughy and almost undercooked. To their credit the sweet and sour pork was good and the fried rice also tasty. But when you actually cannot eat one of the main entrees!!! This is probably the best Chinese Food south of Richmond! Authentic, not greasy, fresh and hot, great service, clean and inviting! We had and recommend the boneless honey garlic pork, bbq pork fried rice, veggie crispy chow mein and spicy kung pow chicken(chicken with veggies and peanuts in a spicy hot chilli sauce) and egg rolls. Comes with Jasmine tea and fortune cookies to finish! Very excellent service too! Recommend reservations if after 530. Fills up fast, especially on a Sunday! Large portions too, four dishes is lots for dinner and leftovers for 2 lunches the next day. Total cost around $55 including tax plus tip ran just over $60. read more

My folks and I have been going to this restaurant since I was a young girl.. up until now our experience was always good.. even though they got our orders wrong a number of times they always made up for it.. however, last night we found out just how poorly these people are lacking in customer service and care now.. we ordered our food and my husband and myself went to pick it up.. soon as we got it home we realized they didn't give us our sweet and sour pork and instead of hot and sour soup we got wonton.. we have never in all the years we've gone here ever ordered wonton soup.. my folks were pissed as they should be.. my father called this place and the teenage girl which illegally is working at this place answered the phone and argued with my father saying we ordered wonton when he told her that he knows for a fact he said hot and sour.. not only did this little girl argue however also said that she wouldn't replace the soup for us either.. my mother even got on the phone with her and she also had to deal with this teen arguing her! My mother asked her to have the owner contact her.. instead the teen talked to the owner and never had her contact my mother.. so my folks ordered a hot and sour soup and told her we wanted the pork we had ordered. Now ready for an argument, myself and my husband angrily went down to the restaurant however I told my husband not to take the credit card out unless needed.. walking into the place I slammed the wonton on the counter and angrily told them we did not order this.. these people argued with us claiming they repeat the orders back to us and that it said wonton on the screen.. ARGUED WITH A CUSTOMER!! I told the manager that although it was put in the machine like that it was repeated back to my father as hot and sour soup! THESE PEOPLE WILL ARGUE WITH YOU OVER A $4 BOWL OF SOUP!! Now after informing these people I used to work in the restaurant industry I asked for the owner.. manager informs me that she's busy cooking.. THE OWNER DOESN'T CARE ABOUT HER CUSTOMERS ENOUGH TO FIND A WAY TO TALK TO YOU ABOUT YOUR ISSUES!! While screaming and arguing with these people the entire time the owner was in the back cooking!! This rude, lanky male Chinese man working at this place decides while on the phone to ask me to be quiet.. he obviously has no idea how to work efficiently in the restaurant industry and thinks the CUSTOMER should be quiet when he's doing something!! Even if that customer is angry!! Finally I told them we aren't having to pay for the hot and sour soup or pork since we already ordered the pork and returned the wonton soup.. after the manager explained to the teenager how they'll work it out, they let us take the food.. thanking the manager for her level head, the same lanky Chinese man comes over and starts to pick a fight!! Telling us to talk to the owner!! #1, we asked for the owner at the beginning and was denied to talk to her and #2, he had no right to step in!! So once my husband basically told him to mind his business, we were informed the owner would call my folks to settle things.. The restaurant was only 1/3 full but the service was "SLOW" after 35 minutes I had to ask for our soup which came lukewarm. When the other dishes finally came they were also lukewarm and the Shanghai noodles were tough. Went for dinner on a Monday evening, place was dead, maybe 4 tables on the go. Our server, Jacky, was not very personable, we seemed to be an imposition for even being there. One small pot of tea was brought to the table, and never refilled, dinner was about what you expect when you go to a fast food place at the mall??? We were very disappointed, as we were told how good it was???? Possibly an off night, but won't be going back and would highly not recommend this place to anyone else. Atrocious delays on getting our food. Other tables were filled later and served earlier. Wait staff was apologetic but completely unable to provide any meaningful information about when we could expect food. It took over 90 minutes to get chicken chow mein and the food only arrived after it was pointed out, firmly, that medical complications made food an absolute necessity. The food, when delivered, was good. But, the meal was an intensely frustrating dining experience. Nobody in my family will be dining here again. read more

Brutal! Saw two rats running in the restaurant. We ordered take out. We're told one hour for pick up. After an hour and a half we called. We're told it would be longer. Asked to talked to a restaurant manager was told they were busy and refused to talk to me. Finally got a manager and when I said something about the long wait he looked at me shrugged his shoulders and walked away mid sentence. This place in unhealthy and beyond rude!!!! We used to be regular customers and really liked the food even though the service is usually lacking. The last time we went we ordered our favorite item, the stuffed chicken wings. They were terrible. They tasted moldy. They come 8 to an order and we each tried 1 full one and a 1/2 of another. When we told the server (who has zero personality or people skills) she argued and said they are prepared and frozen right away. We said that is fine but they taste moldy. She then took the plate away and didn't come back until we were finished our other food. Our left overs were dropped off with the bill. They charged for 1/2 of the order of chicken wings. We have been regular customers for years and always order these wings. It wasn't like we were trying to get them for free. They were terrible and tasted bad.
