Upon entry owners were so welcoming! i was greeted like a regular :) The store has pretty much everything you can think of. Pricing is super reasonable too. i forgot my cell car charger cord thingy at home and my cell was on seriously 1 bar :( dying -Luckily i saw them from across street frm Starbucks. I was able to pick and choose the cord -different colors and lengths- i wasn't at their mercy either on buying it for $15 bucks or more like at a gas station. Just $ 4.99!! :) novelties food household beach stuff- etc. i'll be back when i have more time to browse. if you're in the area come support this mom & pop. i'm sure you'll find some amazing deals. read more

I always came here before work to grab a quick drink or just look at the stuff they have, but after today I am just not going back. The service was subpar, I got yelled at by the cashier on shift that accused me of not paying for a drink even though my card transaction clearly went through but according to the employee it didn't, she started asking me to enter my card info and that's just sketchy. It sucks because all the other people here were nice. Don't come here unless you want to want to be yelled at like you just stole. And stop asking for everyone to leave their bag In the front, nobody wants to steal from this store anyway. read more

An ecclectic variety of stuff, loosely organized in aisles and priced to sell. This is the stuff that Big Lots won't carry. Strange, cheap, fragile, disposable, roto-molded, remanded, pot metal, easily-broken... words that describe a lot of the merchandise here. --and I loved every moment of my time here. Our purchase list included: 1. Four metal clips haphazardly coated in rubber tool dip. Certainly toxic and carcinogenic. 2. An Indiana Jones coloring book. 3. Glitter glue. 4. A 99¢ visor for Mrs. since she forgot hers for kayaking. It was so ugly, she threw it away after our paddling adventure on the bay. There were other treasures here-- like ladies unmentionables for the morbidly obese, and Justin Bieber-themed duct tape. You don't need anything in this store... but like me, you know you love walking through, sifting through things that are practically free, and totally disposable. Finally, the antique "security camera" on the wall inside makes a visit worth the effort. Bonus points awarded if you have whiskey shots at the bar next door before heading to the store. I just bought a night stand from them and it is literally missing every single piece of hardware needed to assemble it. Items that you can't even buy that are custom made for this night stand so there's no way for me to assemble it even if I was willing to go buy the hardware myself. Very poor business. He knew it was useless and missing everything and still let me buy it without saying a word. I've spent so much money in this store to be treated like this and ripped off. I shop there for my work, for myself, and for other people and have always referred people to them and they ripped me off as if they didn't even know me. read more

Like the PB store a decent selection with some items priced fairly some not so much. I have had a couple issues with this location, one, several times pulled into the parking lot at 8:40, another at 8:45, just in time to see the doors being locked. If you post hours, abide by them. I only needed a few items and knew where they were would have been out of there in 3 minutes. Secondly have been overcharged a couple of times. Many items are 99 cents those that are not are clearly marked. Sometimes they charge 1.99 or 2.99 for 99 cent items if there are other items in your basket at those higher prices. So just pay attention and make sure you get a receipt. read more

As the other Yelpers have noted-this 99 cent store is Not for the squeamish or faint of-heart. Terminally messy and with a lot to be desired regarding cleanliness, still it beckons me with it's vast array of cheap hair products and cleaning supplies. The poor put-upon people that work there are not very friendly and helpful. I don' think it's cause they're mean necessarily-perhaps just over-worked and stressed out. However it might behoove them to hire a few extra people to get the boxes full of stuff out of their aisles and straighten up the pet food area. I would never buy any food items here. It's true that they are nasty-looking and probably no where near their appropriate-usage dates. Wait-I take that back-they have that great PAM-like olive oil spray and a good canola-pan spray too. That's it for me & their food items. But heck yeah with all the great variety of skin and hair care stuff. All kinds of boxed hair coloring, straighteners, weird cremes and gels. Today I found a box 0f 3 Queen Helene Jojoba Oil treatments for $1.99. Always interesting skin cremes and lots of vitamins with good expiration dates on them. A load of candles and really cool picture frames. Always a selection of flip-flops in a variety of sizes. If you're looking for cheap clothing-they got that here also. Great selection of school supplies although a very messy area. Bags of cheap bird seed and cat food that my turtle adores! Hit or miss on the make-up-some of it looks like it might be a health hazard-but the nail polish selection is nice and the clear base coats are of good quality. I guess since they closed that good 99 Cent Store on Garnet Avenue in Pacific Beach, this V-Outlet has become the go-to store for the beach crowd. Not too far away is the REAL .99 Cent store on Clairemont Mesa Blvd. by the Krispy Kreme Donuts-that's where everything is 99 Cents-unlike this V-Outlet where the prices are all over the place. So my Yelp advice is to go check this one out and see what you think. It usually is busy so don't go expecting lots of personalized attention-not that THAT is ever offered at stores like this. You'd be lucky to have the cashier some where near when it's time for you to check out.. There is a good-sized parking lot out front that overlooks Mission Bay and the beach-so as you empty your wallet here, the view is priceless! read more

So I was chased out of here very aggressively for some kind of miscommunication and was told not to come back however I paid for everything and the poor guy who was running the cash register came running after me saying that his boss needed to talk to me and I was willing to speak with him until I got on the phone with him and he could not have been any more rude. How dare you accuse somebody of stealing when I had a receipt to show all that I bought. Plus they get all of their inventory from people a.k.a. drug addicts who steal from other companies and these outlet buys them and marks down the price. Not sure if this place is a front for some kind of laundering or just a shady place to begin with. I wouldn't recommend bringing your kids in here considering half of their inventory is once again stolen property actually all of the inventory I believe is stolen property and behind the front counter is nothing but drug paraphernalia and not for the legal kind there's nothing to do with marijuana it is all what seems to be oil burners which I remember were banned due to people using them for drugs. Talk about shady. I am still just in shock at how I was treated but to be honest it's OK because I don't ever plan on stepping foot in there I would rather go to the dollar store or the 99 Cents store because I know at least that things aren't stolen and I'm not gonna be caught up with any police because of stolen items. I am halfway tempted to report them to the police if I could I would give them zero stars but unfortunately that's not possible al. I'm sure every math head and hard drug addict will defend them since it's probably one of the only places that accept stolen goods and get paid out for them but that's not saying much. Okay, that's enough. This little puke isn't getting away with it anymore. This store's a little shitheap V-Outlet even shittier than the rest of the chain (and if you've ever been in a V-Outlet, you know they're dismal), that routinely closes 10 to 15 minutes before their posted closing time. I'm guessing this is for the convenience of the rude Russian snot who's the clerk at closing time. A couple of weeks ago I tried to go in there at about a quarter 'til 9 for one stupid little item. What I wanted was behind the counter, and I wanted to see their selection, but he got really testy with me and the other half dozen people in there who had the absolute nerve to be shopping in an OPEN store when he wanted to go home. If he'd just shut up, let me see their merchandise and rung everyone up, instead of huffing and bitching at everyone, he'd have been closed up by 9, no problem. Incidentally, on that occasion, I left and took my business to another store that also closes at 9. It was just about closing time when I got to the other store, so I politely asked if I could still come in, and not only did the clerk welcome me in, she helped me get what I wanted so we could all get out faster. It took maybe 3 minutes, if that. Tonight I went in for another small item. I knew right where it was, what it cost, and what I wanted. (Black shimmer eyeliner. $1.99. Makeup counter, twelve feet to the left of the front door, by the register.) I was paying cash. I walked in with about 10 minutes until closing. This time, I wasn't even allowed to come in. They had already shut down the register. I understand that when people come in at 8:58 and want to buy a cart full, it's rude and a huge pain in the butt for the employees. I would never do that, I always ask if it's okay to make a small purchase if I'm on the cusp of the store closing. It's okay to say, "Just to let you know, we close in a few minutes," so I can explain I just came in for something quick. But if your store is supposed to be open, and there's plenty of time between when I walk in and when the store closes to get done what I came in to get done, but you won't let me, I'm taking names. read more

SCARY... this place scared me. I was in the area and thought I would try out this place instead of the 99 Cents Only store in Clairemont Town Square. BIG MISTAKE. This place was super ghetto. I gave it a chance and purchased a few things. But it was a total mess being poorly lit and product all over the floors. Prices weren't clearly marked and it didn't feel like a great deal on the majority of things. You know it's a bad experience when you feel bad for the employees... The guy behind me in line didn't want to wait, so he just put money on the counter and took his drink. WTF?! We all have to wait in line. Why does this dude think he's so special? The poor cashier looked scared and helpless. I felt bad for her. Serves me right for not reading Yelp reviews first... They carry a lot of items including everything from gift wrap to moisturizer to food to costumes. It's a mish mash of everything under one roof. I didn't look at everything but I did walk up and down quite a few of the aisles. I went there for fly swatters. I thought it was an awesome deal since they were only a dollar or so, but one broke as soon as I got home and swatted a fly. So I guess you get what you pay for. Tips: If you get food, I'd check the expiration dates. Also, the parking lot is small and sketchy looking. read more

i can't find an address for this place anywhere, but if you're interested it's in clairemont right across from keil's food stores. it smells like cinnamon in here. that's a nice change from other 99 cent stores that smell like the cheap plastic used in fake flowers and dust. standard 99 cent store type merchandise but with a huge selection of pickled carrots. i almost got some pickled carrots and jalapenos (in the same jar!) for my boyfriend but he said he didn't want any. i left with an ashtray and an umbrella. both are actually kind of cute. 99 cent pregnancy tests! read more

The man working Jay was so helpful and pointed out a lot of name brand products for soooo cheap! For example i got a huge bottle of dove body wash half the price of what they charge at cvs or target. I love shopping at this store, It offers a wide selection of general merchandise and brand names overstocks items. Since it opened they have been stocking up on great holiday buys, Tools, Toys, Accessories, Healthy and Beauty Products, and lots of goodies. I can guarantee that you will find something you need and more. This is the Original V-Outlet store, It's been around since early 90's when people in San diego dident even know about dollar stores. Please Beware: On Monday 2/20/17 I made a purchase with my debit card totaling a bit over $20. I checked by bank and found that they charged me twice. I came to the store just now and the employee said he didn't know what to do and that maybe his boss can help when he comes in. I asked when that would be and he said "I don't know." I said what is your policy when you make a mistake like this? He said they didn't have one. I said I wanted the money that they basically stole from me back and he said he could not do that even after I showed him the bank statement. Please do NOT shop here. You are at risk for having your money stolen from you bank account. He had a very nonchalant attitude and said "maybe it's just your bank making a mistake." Very dismissive and giving me no options. V- outlet is the best Dollar store outlet i been to so far! I have been a commited customer for the past 13 years, since there store in Pacific Beach. They have a large selection of Health and Beauty, Foods, Cleaning, Tools, Toys, and Gift items. At any dollar store you go to ypu will find close to date expiration items and damaged boxes and cans, That is why its called closeouts and why its available for so cheap. This doesnt mean its bad, its just taht department stores and supermarkets have an image of how there shelves and store look like. V outlet is one of the only stores that has such a large variety of department store and major pharmacies items I recommend that everyone comes by and shops at this great establishment. read more

I drove all the way in from Ramona to get a specific item that I had called about and verified they had. I told them I was on my way and arrived at 8:43 notice the time of this post is 9:15. I got here and she literally slammed the door in my face, laughed at me, and said "closing!" I relayed the information to her the same as I just wrote here, and she again laughed at me and refused to open the door. I told her "it's a quarter to 9, I'm not even late!" She said "too bad! Closing!" I was out here in the parking lot on the phone, trying to find somewhere else that might have what had taken me months to find, and instead of apologizing or remaining polite and business-like, and tactful... she LITERALLY LAUGHED in my face and flipped me off and told me "f*** you" as she got in her car RIGHT NEXT TO MINE! As she pulled away I told her "I'm calling your boss to complain about you!" she laughed at me again and repeated "f*** you" several times as she flipped me off, driving away. This was the tallish woman, rather new, with long straight black hair down past her hips. Unbelievably unprofessional! I was livid! I will never come back to this store, NEVER!
