The views were beautiful, the vibe was fun and lively, and it's definitely a great place for photos. The food and cocktails were absolutely amazing. I love a good espresso martini and they did not disappoint. The oysters were fresh and delicious, and the Florida grouper sandwich tasted incredibly fresh and flavorful. You can tell the ingredients are high quality. For dessert, we had the flourless chocolate cake and the caramel custard flan. Both were beautifully plated and tasted incredible... so good that you really don't want to stop at just one bite. Between the great food, amazing desserts, gorgeous views, and attentive service, Ocean Seven really delivered. It's a perfect spot for brunch, celebrations, girls' outings, or special occasions. I ordered the 8 oz lobster tail with lyonnaise potatoes and Keylime pie for dessert. Everything was delicious I had no leftovers. They gave us a complimentary glass of champagne for a sunset toast. I had the empanadas as an appetizer ($19.00). They were good but a small order. My main was the 8oz Filet Mignon ($58.00). It was good but it was al-la-carte! From the moment we arrived at the valet stand everything was just amazing. We had reservations inside but asked about being seated outside and the hostess was very accommodating, even showing us the tables and allowing us to select. A beautiful view of the bay from the terrace and in sight of pier 60 that is all lit up at night. Gabby was a perfect server and quickly arrived with expertly crafted cocktails. The wait staff will heavily affect your experience at this restaurant. At dinner, our waitress, Cory, was attentive and helpful with navigating the menu. The food was tasty and the drinks were incredible. However, our brunch experience was very different. We were seated with waters at 9 AM, and then forgotten about. The waiter, Chris, did not approach our table until 9:30. Food arrived at 10:05, and our order was wrong. The ocean views from the outdoor balcony was lovely, and shaded during the morning hours. Thankfully, the hostess gave us an indoor spot where we could still see the sunset, which I appreciated! Now, let's talk about the menu... definitely check it before you go. It's really small, and honestly, my boyfriend and I weren't crazy about the options. We went with the Valentine's Day 3-course menu, which was fine, but we left hungry. The portions were ridiculously small--our appetizer came with just three chips to share between two people, and the cheese portion was tiny. Our entrées tasted good, but for the price, it just wasn't worth it. I'm not about to pay $95 for a steak and still leave hungry. The one thing I'll rave about? The drinks. They were fabulous--but again, very expensive. Next time, I'd come back for one drink, enjoy the sunset, and call it a night. I wouldn't get the food again. read more

The bar is also understaffed resulting in long wait times and inefficiency both times. We made a last minute reservation to celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary here yesterday. We couldn't have made a better choice. We made a reservation at Ocean Restaurant inside The Hiatus Hotel specifically for a sunset-view table. That was the entire reason we chose this place. When we arrived, we were told a large group had taken the whole area, and they sat us behind a pillar, literally one of the worst spots in the restaurant. What made the situation worse was the complete lack of service recovery -- just a quick "sorry," and no attempt to offer a solution, alternative seating, or anything to make it right. We didn't know what to expect on our first night in Clearwater and we were blown away by the service, the view, and the food! We really enjoyed the shrimp bisque and coconut shrimp sushi roll for our appetizers. For the main course I enjoyed the coriander crusted tuna which was light on the coriander so not overpowering and the tuna was fresh. My wife had the fettuccine which she enjoyed as well.
