Heard a couple boasting about this restaurant while on the beach and knew it was our next stop. Erwin our waiter was fantastic from beginning to end. Super friendly, energetic and on the ball with his recommendations. Started off with an espresso martini which was tasteful. Then to be greeted with fresh warm bread and everything bread crisps with the delicious balsamic Parmesan oil to dip in, YUM! After taking a bite of the bread and oil I knew we were in for a treat. Decided on the Prime Ribeye and Wagyu Hanger Steak. Every single bite of the ribeye was flavorful and had a beautiful char. The wagyu hanger was melt in your mouth but had a different seasoning than the ribeye but a tasty dish. We were stuffed but didn't want to stop! We both ordered our steaks rare and they came out perfect. Ordered the asparagus and garlic whipped potatoes, perfect for two to share. Never hit a hard part of the asparagus and demolished the garlic potatoes. We went on a Thursday night and it wasn't busy and got to sit in the dining area. My girlfriend and I recently dined at this steakhouse the day before Valentine's Day with a reservation. We had an overall outstanding meal with just one unfortunate miss. The star of the evening was undoubtedly my tomahawk steak cooked to a perfect medium-rare--beautifully seared on the outside with a tender, juicy pink center that showcased the quality of the meat. The truffle cream sauce I paired with it was absolutely delicious and packed with rich, earthy flavor that complemented the steak wonderfully. The steak tips appetizer set a great tone for the meal. The meat was incredibly tender and came with a fantastic sauce that elevated every bite. We also enjoyed the complimentary bread service with the oil and balsamic vinegar combo, which was so good we kept going back for more. The creamed corn was a solid side with good flavor and texture. However, the broccolini fell flat and lacked the seasoning or flavor we expected from a steakhouse of this caliber. Unfortunately, my girlfriend's scallop and lobster risotto was a letdown. It had a distinctly fishy taste that made it inedible. We eat a lot of seafood and know it's not supposed to be like that for these items. To the restaurant's credit, the staff handled the situation professionally and removed the dish from our bill without hesitation, which we really appreciated and speaks to their commitment to customer satisfaction. Despite the risotto issue, I'd still recommend this steakhouse primarily for their beef. The tomahawk was executed flawlessly, the steak tips were delicious, and their willingness to make things right when a dish missed the mark shows they care about the dining experience. Celebrated New Year's Eve at Mandalay Bay Steakhouse, and overall it was a wonderful experience especially considering how busy NYE can be. Hospitality really stood out from the moment we arrived. The staff was warm, attentive, and impressively composed despite a packed dining room. We never felt rushed, and service stayed consistent throughout the night, which is no small feat on a holiday like this. We indulged a bit (okay, a lot): multiple rounds of caviar, king crab legs, lobster, and the tomahawk steak. The seafood was excellent...fresh, rich, and well-prepared. The caviar service in particular felt indulgent and well done, making the night feel appropriately celebratory. We had a few caviar bumps to celebrate The only downside of the evening was the tomahawk. While beautifully cooked and visually impressive, it was overly salty, to the point where it masked the natural flavor of the steak itself. For a cut of that quality, I really wanted the beef to shine on its own. That said, between the standout service, festive atmosphere, and strong seafood offerings, Mandalay Bay Steakhouse still delivered a memorable NYE dinner. read more

I will be thinking about the lobster & scallop risotto for months. The best scallops I've ever had. Our group of 5 had great drinks & appetizers. French onion soup, house salad & ceaser salad were all good! French onion soup could have used some salt but that was the only major feedback. Main meals were also great with the risotto, New York strip with mushrooms & the sea bass. The server was so knowledgeable of drinks and recommended some amazing wine. The food here was amazing! We came with a big group and ordered a lot of appetizers. All the food was delicious and the crab cakes were my favorite followed by the calamari. The shrimp were huge! The wagyu steak tips were also tasty. For my entree I had the salmon and the potatoes were so good with this. My husband had the prime rib eye and it was perfectly cooked. For the accompaniments, the garlic mushrooms and truffle fries were some of our favorites! We'd definitely come back here again and service was super friendly even with our big group! read more

So we only came here because we wanted dessert. We say an old menu on Google that mentioned they have banana bread au jus and we were really craving some good banana bread dessert. So the lady at the host was super nice. She was very welcoming. But we were a bit disappointed that they didn't have the dessert we wanted but they had cheesecake eggroll that was somewhat similar so they basically made up the dessert they cook for us. It was disappointing but it was still delicious that they made it when really it wasn't what it was. I did appreciate their efforts. The drink was good but it was strong. Ambiance, it's a fancy restaurant compared to all the other casual dining place on the beach. So definitely come here if you want to spend a little more. read more

Super disappointing. Botched at least one component of each of my parties meal. Most notably, they forgot one of the kids meals which were ordered at the beginning of our seating. It then didn't come out until all of the adult meals (which defeated the purpose of ordering the kids meals first). Most importantly, three out of the five steaks were over cooked; one T-bone, a fillet, and a ribeye. Other two were cooked nicely. Was disappointed that one of those steaks- which happened to be mine- was the t-bone, as it was cut in front of the table by management. The presentation was fun and appreciated. I had the lobster bisque which i thought came as a hit warm portion, but hoped for more flavor and a fleck or two of lobster. My son passed on the chicken fingers, and after tasting one, we decided to not take them to go. Two of my party got the sea bass, with distinctively different portions (one being very small). Service was good for the party size, but I thought things came out in weird order. Server did a great job and there was a quick turnaround for needed items after food arrived. I was greeted pleasantly when I arrived, but ignored by three staff members as I said good bye, one seeming to be the GM. I do not recommend. read more

This place was Blinkers Beachside before the hurricane rolled through in 2024. That down time gave them a chance to remodel and open with a slightly new experience while bringing forward some old favorites. My previous review of Blinkers mostly still applies: It is too bad to hear about the mixed reviews. Coming for dinner on a Friday night in April, everything was perfect. Having a reservation, there was a choice to wait a little while for the table to be cleared in the main dining area or to sit near the bar. Sitting by the bar was nice and the high-top tables there offered an experience almost as peaceful as the main dining room. Service was outstanding from start to finish. It was nice to see a couple of local brews on the menu. For me, starting with the Caesar Salad - Romaine Hearts, Garlic Crouton, Shaved Parmesan, House Made Caesar Dressing, was great. I did have a taste of the Ahi Tuna Tartar - Avocado, Orange, Sweet Soy Sauce, Fried Wontons that was at the table too and it was super fresh. Seeing the Cab Tuscan Style Tomahawks come out of the kitchen made the choice for the main easy. The presentation table-side is a great touch, and it was cooked to perfection as well. Having the chef come out to say hello for a brief moment was another nice touch, capping off an overall wonderful experience. So what has changed? Well the Cab Tuscan Style Tomahawk is now a Prime instead of a CAB. Otherwise, literally just as good as before. The CAESAR SALAD - Romaine Hearts, Garlic Croutons, Shaved Parmigiano, House Made Caesar Dressing was just as good. Going this time around with a larger gorup I was able to taste the WAGYU STEAK TIPS GF - Lightly Blackened American Wagyu Tenderloin, Chimichurri, Bordelaise Sauce and the BRUSCHETTA TRIO - Tomato Concasse', Burrata,Olive Tapenade. WOW! Obviously, with this being possibly the first review for the reopen I do not know if those old reviews will continue to be mixed going forward. The food was just okay, but definitely not worth the price. For how expensive it is, you'd expect a nicer ambiance. They advertise themselves as high-end, but the experience did not match that at all. We ordered a steak that came out much more raw than expected. When we sent it back, they seemed to just reheat the same steak longer, and it ended up burnt. The staff was okay overall, but our waiter kept coming over to clear plates while we were still actively eating, which made us feel rushed the entire time. read more

Save your money for a decent restaurant and don't go here. For being a steakhouse, it was the worst service and worst quality that I have ever experienced. We had a group on a work trip. To start the night, half of our group decided not to come because of how people in our hotel lobby had said it was such a bad experience and not to waste their time. I wasn't expecting the Taj Mahal of restaurants, but it wasn't even the service and quality that I get at the TGI FRIDAYS in the Atlanta airport. First off, we were on a boat tour and two hours before our reservation time, the host was nonstop calling to confirm after I had already confirmed online. We just wanted to enjoy the boat ride, but my phone was ringing nonstop. The manager was at the host stand when we arrived at the restaurant and held the worst tone and made us feel so unvalued as customers. He just kept belittling us with any jab possible. We realized we wanted to just grab our food and run so no one ended up getting steaks like the plan was since we didn't want to be there any longer. Our table ordered appetizers and a lobster roll. For the tuna tartar, one of the guests asked for no citrus because she can't eat it. The order came out and was 75% oranges and very little meat. Clearly, the waiter had not listened when she told him that she could not eat it. The lobster roll had barely any meat on the sandwich and was all bread for the price it cost. And then the lobster meat that was there was filled with pieces of shell. It was as if they had taken a hammer and smashed both lobster claws before putting it on the bread. Our water cups sat empty the entire night. Our initial cocktails that we ordered did not arrive until after we all had finished all of our food. The server and the manager kept coming back with nasty attitudes and jabs at my friends during the entire night. We got out as fast as we could, which made us so sad because we were excited for a nice steak dinner. Also, there is no dress code so people were wearing very very casual clothes including the staff so don't waste your time to dress up for a steakhouse. I have never seen a steakhouse not have a semi decent dress code. But, they should not be allowed to charge the prices that they are charging for how bad the food and service ended up being. read more

Overall, a good place to try. Biggest downside is the bar that is right inside the front door. For those who are trying to enjoy a nice relaxing dinner, it is difficult with the overwhelming noise coming from the bar. Even though there is a suggested attire, it is not required. The night we were there, there was a younger guy wearing a t-shirt with the word SLUT written in larger letters across the front, with the phrase "that's how I like my women" underneath. There were people wearing shorts and t-shirts, sitting next to people wearing dresses & dress slacks. Definitely, wish they stuck to the suggested attire, instead of looking the other way for a dollar. The food was good, better than most in the area, but overall not the best ever. The portions, flavor and overall taste were spot on. We had the tomahawk steak, which was beautifully presented and tastes great. There were about 3 managers constantly walking the floor, and helping wherever necessary. They all made it a point to stop by each table to make sure the guests were happy and did not need anything. There was also a chef walking around and standing in the shadows, observing. We named him "the angry chef", because he never smiled, even when people spoke to him, he seemed very frustrated and could be seen pacing around anxiously. Really good steak After a couple of days dining on fish at the beachside fun but greasy spoons, we were hungry for some plain steaks, and found them at this wonderful restaurant in downtown Clearwater. Nicely furnished, with an extremely competent bar tender. Service was top notch, and had a great conversation with the owner who told us of the trials and tribulations of recovery from the hurricanes. I was a real treat to get some excellent meat (filet mignon) served by chefs who know what to do with it. They were nicely seasoned and perfectly cooked to our specifications. The desert was also excellent. If I'm ever in Clearwater again, you can bet I will get a steak dinner here. But to be clear, they have a lot of other great sounding items on the menu.
