Top 3 Rolls: shrimp tempura maki, spicy tuna maki, Salmon Avocado Maki (left to right)

I've been to Ocean Sushi a few times for mainly take out and dine-in once before. They are only currently take out. I recently got take-out and ordered the Kamikaze, Double Spicy Tuna and top 3 rolls (shrimp tempura maki, spicy tuna maki, salmon avocado maki). Sushi is always high quality and I've never had a issue with them. When I came to pick up my order, the worker was friendly and fast. They offer great lunch specials too.

TAKE OUT ONLY! Drove here from Lynn based on a review that said they had great seating for any size party. Well not the case. Very frustrated!

Hands down best sushi I've ever had, for real. Every time we've ordered from here it's been incredibly fresh, flavorful, and delicious. I crave it all the time. I'd reccomend this place to anybody! Definitely DO NOT miss this place!

"So many rolls, so little time". We ordered these three items for takeout since we wanted to do a chill takeout night. Honestly, this was a little bit on the pricey end but it had great reviews so we wanted to give it a try. My fiancè really liked both sushi items, I loved the sushi burrito more. At a whopping $24, I was initially disappointed with the size but when I bit into it OMG it was sooo fresh and tasty. It had the thinnest layer of rice but a huge load of different fish, salmon, tuna, whitefish, yellowtail. $24 soo well spent! The siu mai miso soup was unique and very tasty as well, and they didn't skim on the sui mai. It was really good, but again a little on the pricey side but will come back.

Had the pleasure of trying this hidden gem in Elmore county. Menu is varied with something for everyone, portions are generous, & quality is amazing. Pricing more than reasonable. Warm & welcoming vibe with a sense of family & community, these folks will take care of you! Well worth the drive!

Ocean Sushi is our favorite sushi place in the Malden/Melrose area. Since the pandemic, the restaurant has been to-go only, so it's best to call and place your order before you arrive so that it's ready for you. We love the lunch specials, which you can get most days of the week, and come with a good amount of food at a reasonable price (ex. maki and sides like miso soup, salad, egg roll, sweet potato tempura). The poke bowls are pricier, but great quality with a good amount and mix of fresh fish and ingredients. I really enjoy the poke sunset with salmon, tuna, mango, and avocado over rice with spicy mayo mmmm. Pine Banks Park is just across the street from the complex that Ocean Sushi is in, so on a nice day you can take your meal over there and enjoy it by the pond. It may not be an ocean... but it'll do.

not so fresh sashimi, these are the pieces we threw out coz the color and smell was it fresh

I was nearby and got some carryout. The restaurant is still carryout only as of August 2021. Our order included a sashimi combo platter with tempura yams and miso soup and a spicy tuna roll. Some of the sashimi pieces should never have made it out the door. The texture, odor, and color indicated some of the sashimi was not fresh... not only was it not fresh, we questioned the safety of the sashimi and opt to not eat certain pieces. It's been a really long time since I've seen sashimi at this low of a quality anywhere.... to the point where safety becomes a topic instead of flavors and ambience of the restaurant. I picked this spot based largely on the high yelp reviews. Reviewing the popular dishes as I write this review makes me realize that most of them are cooked dishes or rolls. There is off street parking

We love ocean sushi. This is our go to place. Lee is amazing and always friendly. The food is always fresh and they do a great job with our allergies. Highly recommended this place.

This is one of our go-to places for sushi. The poke bowls come with a good amount of fish, and the lunch specials make for a very affordable meal as far as sushi goes, with a lot of rolls and side options to choose from.

A little above average. -- Spare Ribs on the bone: Painted on every surface with a nice char to complement the glaze. A thicker cut than most. Just like last time, they looked like a reheat, but still had very good texture (tender, moist) and decent enough flavor. Above average. -- Pork Egg Foo Yong: A trio of thick patties flooded with light brown sauce. Good crispness underneath. Soft and tender with big chunks of pork that wasn't dried out. Good overall flavor from the fry, the onions, and the pork, as well as the sauce. Near-elite to elite. -- Kung Pao Chicken: A little different here, with much larger shreds of chicken, a little darker than most, less celery and peanuts than most, a profusion of peppers, and pleasing spiciness to the soy-based sauce. Very enjoyable. Above average to well above average. -- Peking Noodles: A little different, and in a good way. More of a fine shred than a crumble, much spicier, and a little gloppier. Good feel to the egg noodles. I don't get this dish often enough to compare, but I enjoyed it. No OMG moments, but no complaints. Solid lunch, flavorful entrees, and I departed with a higher opinion than before. Upping to 4 stars.

Not spicy. Not too saucy, so you can "feel" the noodle, but I would have liked more vegetables. -- Yibin Fiery Noodles: Warm and similarly al dente, these were manageably spicy. Meat crumble, seeds or nuts, scallions, and heat. -- Red and Green Pepper Chicken: Batterless but crisp, tender, and not boneless. Relentlessly spicy from several heat sources and kaleidoscopically delicious. The closest comparison is dry hot chicken that also goes by a few other names, but this was better. Elite, and the best thing I ate in all of 2025, but sadly no longer on the menu. -- Stone Pot Tofu: Billed as Ma Po Tofu sizzling in a stone pot, but no sizzle and no stone pot. Identified as very spicy but minimally spicy and more numbing (more "ma" than "la"). I enjoyed the overall flavor (heavily seasoned) and the saltiness of the fermented black beans. Despite some of the menu discrepancies, this was a really good version for my tastes. Near-elite. -- Green Beans With Eggplant: Strong flavor, not too hot spicewise, but volcanically hot temperaturewise. Decent. -- Chicken and Clams: Black bean flavor, whole peppercorns, spicy but loaded with flavor beyond the spice. A deceptively huge and quite delicious. Elite. -- Beef Spring Rolls: Not my choice. Crisp, beefy, and chili sauce on the side added contrast. Solid, but boring, more typical of an Americanized offering, and a waste of an opportunity given Too Hot's killer menu. -- Pork Belly with Fermented Beans: Superb rendition, not drastically different from twice cooked pork, but much more flavor and giant pieces. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, and the restaurant itself was clean, cozy, and inviting. Now, I suspect this might due in part because of the hype + location + thai/american fusion flavor, but even with a reservation we still ended up waiting about 30 minutes to be seated. Unfortunately, the service throughout dinner wasn't much better. Between the three of us, we ordered the scallion fries (which, for anyone wondering, aren't actually fries tossed in scallion oil or dressing), the fried calamari, the red curry Bolognese, the green curry pasta with steak, and, of course, the much-hyped Massaman burger. The fried calamari was probably the weakest dish. It had a fishier taste than I expected, and the breading was fairly greasy and tended to fall off. The scallion fries were good, though not especially memorable. Of the entrées, we preferred the green curry pasta over the red curry Bolognese, though both became a little heavy after a while. The Massaman burger was solid, but not quite the standout I was hoping for. Across the dishes, our biggest takeaway was that the curry sauces all leaned fairly rich and salty without much contrast. A little acidity or citrus would have gone a long way in brightening the flavors. Overall, Black Ruby was good, just not quite as memorable as I expected. Nothing we ordered really wowed us, but it's still a perfectly solid spot if you're in the area. I'd be open to coming back, though I'd probably try some different items if we were ever around Harvard Square.
