We did delivery from this place and it did not disappoint! Love the bogo selection (takoyakis and spicy tuna makis). All was delicious, the sushi was spicy lol which is rare but good cause hey we ordered spicy rolls. The popcorn chicken was very good, my boyfriend cant wait to pop them into the air fryer to crisp them up a bit for lunch tomorrow. The takoyakis were ok, were looking for the octopus pieces a lil bit but thats ok, i got 10 balls for the price of 5!! The spicy seafood salad was good no complaints. So yea we definitely gonna reorder from this place again and maybe even try dining in and try the other items they have there

We were craving some ramen on a cold Sunday for lunch and happened to find Kakkoii nearby with a decent rating here on Yelp, so we gave this a shot. This sushi and ramen shop is inside the 99 Asian Supermarket which is super convenient if you ask me. We ordered NS7- Hell Ramen 地狱拉面 ($13.00+) This is super spicy just what we needed on a cold day! It consists of Japanese ramen in house special hot red broth, topped with house made Cha-Shu pork, marinated soft egg, fish cake, seaweed, corn, cabbage, and bean sprouts. We also ordered SP12- Snow Mountain Maki (8 Pieces) 雪山卷 ($12.95) It was pretty basic and we knew we couldn't go wrong with it. The Snow Mountain consisted of shrimp tempura maki topped with special crab meat salad and tobiko, with yuzu mayonnaise. The Hell Ramen was surprisingly pretty good for a cafeteria/food court style shop. The broth and the toppings were separated without us having to ask which was nice. That way when we got home we boiled the broth to our own linking and mixed everything together. The broth itself was really flavorful, but super spicy which was exactly what we needed and wanted. We also ordered a snow mountain sushi roll, which we thought was okay but not bad for a cafeteria like shop. The fried shrimp inside the sushi was actually pretty big which was a huge plus. They weren't stingy with their portions. We were quoted to wait 10-15 minutes so we decided to walk around 99 Asian Market for some time and picked up what we needed. Once we were done, our order was already ready for us. Customer Service: the lady who took our order was super nice and friendly. She was super patient with us while we were exploring the menu since it was our first time here. She came back multiple times to check up on us and gave us the time we needed without being pushy and antsy to take our order. Also, they are running a couple specials! I've posted pictures in this review for more details! Great service- friendly staff and food is good for a cafeteria/food court. Thanks for a delicious hot meal! See you guys soon!!

Spicy ramen, broth on the side.

Not the best ramen, but it definitely hits the spot and satisfies the ramen urge. I like to get the special that includes a bowl of ramen and a sushi roll for $14. I normally get the spicy ramen and the shrimp tempura. Like I said before, it's not the BEST, but it's good enough. There are also a few other places to get food in the little food court, and I like the fact that it's in the supermarket because - why not. There are a few tables to sit and eat, however I tend to get it to go. I like the fact that the broth and fixins are separate.

Um, no...just no. This is not what one should ever consider good ramen, or even mediocre to be honest. This broth might as have been store bought chicken broth. Now that I think about it, they are located directly inside a supermarket food court. Is it possible that they.....naaaaah! That's too bad, as Kakkoii is a convenient 5 minute ride from me and the folks that run this are quite pleasant. It's with sad hearts I come before you today to say "Yelp nation, you have failed me". That's ok, it can't always be rainbows and unicorns!

I ordered the Tuna & Salmon Don with a side of Spicy Seafood Salad. Both were pretty delicious, but the quality of the Tuna and Salmon were only OK. Their Spicy Seafood Salad wasn't bad and was a decent portion. The prices weren't too bad. With Tip/Tax/Delivery Fee, my meal was $30. The Tuna & Salmon Don was $15, Spicy Seafood Salad was $5, Delivery Fee was $3, Tax was $2 ~, Tip was $5 ~ I probably won't order sushi from there again, but I'm definitely open to trying their Ramen next time.

    2 Salmon Queen Combo

It may be out of the way, it being in a food court and all, but this has been my favorite place to eat for as long as I can remember. Their Katsu curry is delicious, and the salmon queen always scratches that sushi itch. The people who work there are very kind and welcoming, and always give me free seaweed salad as thanks for being a regular. Delicious food, great service, 10/10 will eat again

The large hell ramen. Quite large indeed.

Rainy, cold day, so yay for ramen! A bonus, if you checkin here you get a free order of edemame. I ordered the large hell ramen, which is basically the spicy version of their house ramen. Now I emphasize, the large is pretty large. I definitely overcompensated on how hungry I was, especially since I had spring rolls from the pho store in the same plaza...it was double the amount of noodles. Speaking of, wasn't impressed by the noodles. This is my 3rd ramen place in 2 weeks. They were genericly soft, not chewy with that good ramen bite it should have. Reminded of a slightly overcooked instant ramen. The broth was mediocre. Looks like it'll have lots of miso flavor, but alas. What WAS good, was that it was indeed spicy. My spicy tolerance is pretty high, and I was sweating. The egg was perfectly soft boiled, yolk still runny. Mmmmmmm... the pork was also really tender, flavorful, and fatty. Next time I'll try out the sushi.

I have to say, this was pretty good.

**November 2025: Saturday Night Visit**…read more My friend and I had been driving all day and were staying at the Hyatt Medford Hotel just down the street. The Medford/Boston area seemed to all have limited parking so we were looking for a dinner option that didn't require us to drive since we were sick of circling around. Matsuba Izakaya was just a 5 minute walk away from the hotel so we we braved the cold for some delicious food. When we arrived at the restaurant we were escorted toward the back of the restaurant which was very warm and inviting. I ordered the mini omakase for $55 and was super impressed with the presentation and variety of seafood. I was presented a box of 9 different seafood offerings: uni, toro, salmon belly, fish liver, raw shrimp & fried shrimp head tempura, scallops. yellowtail, and squid. The uni and toro were fantastic, and I enjoyed everything else except for the salmon belly. For some reason the salmon belly wasn't ultra creamy - maybe it wasn't thawed enough, which is a shame because I love salmon sashimi. Nevertheless, for the presentation and price I was really impressed with the variety. It also came with a miso soup which really warmed me up quickly.

The layout of the restaurant is similar to the Brookline location, with the private booths on the right and special booths on the left, main seating area in the middle, and the bar seating towards the back. Only difference is the Brookline location has those cool matcha whisk structures, while this location has cool honeycomb structures. I would've loved to experience sitting in one of those. I always like to eat spicy so of course I got the Kyushu Spicy Tonkatsu Ramen. As always, broth is so flavorful with the perfect amount of spice. The ramen texture is my favorite, good amount of softness and waviness. The boiled egg is marinated just right, not too salty or sweet. The chashu pork is tender. I wanted to try their version of the spicy cucumbers. It's REALLY spicy. But also very good. The flavor reminds me of the Chinese chili oil sweet potato noodles, very spicy, kind of salty, and a strong taste of vinegar. I love snacking on it. The takoyaki is the best of course, perfectly soft and tender, with thin bonito shavings and great sauce. The fries are essentially seasoned the same way. Salted fries with the takoyaki sauces and bonito. The combo works very well together. Thai tea was good and service was great. If I'm ever in the area again, I'll stop by for another bowl.

The bun was delicious, with tender pork and a flavorful sauce and I loved having the Thai tea to sip on. We also ordered the cucumber salad to share and it was nice and fresh and spicy. My curry ramen was delicious and hearty. My partner ordered the #2 and I really liked the pork in his bowl, I preferred it over the tonkatsu in mine. We ended our meal with matcha tiramisu and during the current promotion, we won an order of popcorn chicken to redeem on our next visit. The restaurant is cozy and they make use of the small space with their honeycomb wall. There are lots of employees working, so service is quick and we were able to call our sever to the table with a button when we wanted to order and pay.
