After being disappointed by Bistro del Mar's lack of being open when they said they would, we ended up moseying over to Ocean View. I am glad we didn't look this one up on Yelp before coming because we might not have stopped in and that would have been a mistake because it was one of our favorite dinner restaurants in Fajardo. Ocean View, from what we could observe, is all outdoor, covered seating. This means you DEFINITELY want to spray yourself with bug spray for venturing there. We did not do this and we ended up paying for it at first but our waiter observed our plight and brought some spray out so that we were able to ward off the mosquitoes. This restaurant is right by the water where all of the kayak tours take off so the mosquitoes in this area are unavoidable but don't let that put a damper on your experience. Their food is excellent. They have delicious arepas and the portions are enormous. I ordered their octopus salad and it was SO good! I wish I could have it again right now. I ended up having octopus salad again the next day but the experience wasn't nearly as fantastic as at Ocean View. Everything they had was fresh and delicious and we had a really nice time. The service was some of the fastest we experienced in Puerto Rico and our waiter was very friendly and attentive. We will definitely be back if we return to Fajardo! read more

I'd certainly recommend avoid this place for the following reasons: 1. Customer service. The waitress is sneaky; she tries to serve bottle of water so she can charge you extra. Once you get your water, they never try to refill it. The customer service is far from friendly here. 2. Dishonesty. The price we got charged at the end is different from the price on menu. 3. Food. it's definitely on the expensive side for the quality of the food you get. They spend almost no effort in the appetizer and the sides that come with the entre. Wow! We were really kind of hesitant to check out this place because of the 2+ star reviews. But we said let's give it a try. We had the crab alcupurria and seafood empanada both were seasoned well and fresh. We had red snapper fried $35 for medium, $25 for small. The medium can feed 2. It came with 2 sides. We had coconut arepas, delicious fried bread and lettuce n tomato. We also had shrimp mofongo was seasoned with garlic and a tomato sauce. Everything was great. The server Valery was super duper attentive. The $12 bucket of 5 Corona was the icing on the cake. Came here on a whim because of its great location. It it set right on the peak of Las Croabas accross from the water. I only had fritters and piña colada but food was good, place was clean and good service. If you are looking for a no fuss beachfront shack this place does the trick. read more

Very slow service. I ordered a mojito to start with my meal, and watched the drink sit on the counter for 10min before the server bothered to bring it to our table. It turns out it was just rum with sweet and sour mix. I sent it back. The waiter was completely horrible, ignoring us to the point we had to get up for service. The bill came and they charged me for the drink that was sent back. The staff tryed to BS saying they have to charge when something is ordered. Tourist trap. Tourist menu? Everything was expensive, except for the beers. Family of four, my wife and I had two beers each ($3 a beer). I had the seafood Mofongo, my wife had the crab Mofongo, kids (7 and 4) split a penne Alfredo from the kids menu and we had two appetizers (mozzarella stick and Puerto Rican Fried Cheese). Our bill was over $100. The food was mediocre at best. We would have spent less in the restaurant at the resort (Waldorf Astoria). Very disappointed. My girlfriend and I were immediately warned by someone the minute we stepped into their restaurant that I should "sit where they can see you because they will forget to serve you". A male waiter came and gave me a different menu which was about the only adequate service we received from this place. * the drinks were weak although the piña colada was tasty but it seemed like there was no alcohol. * it took nearly 40 minutes for the food to come out. *ordered rice and never came out. * found hair in the food and immediately stopped eating. Mind you, it was probably my 4th bite into the mofongo. * a female waiter gave us a check and had the audacity to charge us the meal that had the hair in it. AND also for the rice that never came. * the check said "sorry for the inconvenience." How absurd! * asked for manager. Went there prior to our bio tour and we sat our selves and the waitress left us sitting there for 10 minutes before coming to greet us than we asked before we ordered how long it took to get the food because we were on a time crunch and she recommended certain dishes that would only take 15 minutes or appetizers so we ordered what she recommended. Our drinks never arrived we had to get up to the bar and get the drinks ourselves we only order water at first. 50 minutes later we got part of our order and ended up canceling the rest. Amazing food !!!! Venture out and have some traditional Puerto Rican food . The plantains , mofongo and other dishes are amazing. While staying at the conquistador resort venture out food is cheaper than the resorts food and way better. Why not try traditional food that's homemade like grandmas cooking. Instead of a 15 dollar pizza at the hotel you can have a 15 dollar feast. Highly recommend if you re staying at the el conquistador! Wonderful people ! read more
