All our food came in different times, one of the appetizers came with one of the food plates which was very bland and unflavored and my sister who was the first to order received her simple order of chicken strips and mofongo last. We went on April 20 and had a bite to eat before a bio-bay tour. I thought the prices were kind of expensive for what it looked like. The food was good and we got out of there on time. My son had the fried Puerto Rican cheese, he liked it but I thought it was dry, my husband had a cheeseburger (not an adventurous eater) and he said it was great. I had the rice and beans - beans were good but the rice was crusty. I also had a small empanada looking thing, I had a beef one and it was good. We stopped here before our night kayaking tour of the bioluminescent bays across the street. We got really lucky with our choice. We've been looking to try empanadillas (meat stuffed pastries) since we got here and we finally got to here! We got a variety to share along with a salad. The salad was nothing to write home about and should just be skipped (it was way overpriced too at $6 for iceberg lettuce and tomatoes) and the rest of the menu was pricey. But the empanadillas were perfect. We tried the beef, chicken, and lobster. The waiter told us it was his grandma's recipe. They were so fresh and delicious I could've eaten way more than three (especially at $2.50 a piece)! The open and relaxing atmosphere only added to the great experience. First off ... Loved Puerto Rico! I think the location was great! Although going in May 2017 and it being rainy... This little small place was great! The food was good and although some people could only speak Spanish, others were there to help. After bioluminescent at night.... This was a good place to settle down and eat. The 3 stars is due to slow service...but this is a typical Puerto Rican cookery in a busy busy area. The mofongo (we tried 4 different kinds) was delicious (steak, seafood, shrimp and pork). Don't pay attention to the bad reviews! If you pass this place up your missing out. An important thing to keep in mind is Puerto Rico is just slower paced. The food here is fresh. Avoid this place. Our meal included a visit from a mouse on the table next to us. Without making a fuss, we pointed it out to the wait staff. They had been wonderful until and wonderful during and after the mouse encounter even though they were all visibly distressed by it. The manager however thought that was all part of the normal dining experience. After complaining, he offered a 10% discount on one dish. That's $3. That's not even $1 per furry leg of the unwelcome visitor. After a lot of coming and going he offered a 20% discount on the ticket. Mice happen. What ticks me is that this manager simply showed no appreciation for the fact that we pretty much covered up for them. We should have just picked up and left without paying for our drinks which was the only thing we had been served at the time of the rodent visit. We could have made a fuss and scare and gross out his full dining room. Instead, we chose to cover for them and continue our meal. That kind of loyalty is worth $3 to the administration. We used to visit often (not for the food but because of the convenience, really). We will never again return. Other than that, Ms Lincoln? The food is mediocre. The service is friendly. The atmosphere is informal, which is what we like when eating on our salty swimsuits after a day at the beach. You can do better. read more

My gf and I went to Ocean View for dinner and had a great time. There was a little mishap with getting attention when we first arrived. I believe we were supposed to be seated, but we kinda just made our way in and sat down, but once we had of our waiter, service was impeccable! Very attentive, but not over bearing, helpful recommendations, even remade one of our drinks and got it back to us in record time. Delicious food, right next to where tours depart, souvenir shops, and a mini-strip of bars and restaurants. I'd definitely come back! Also highly recommend the pina coladas! read more

Excellent local cooking. The dishes were far better than the restaurants at El Conquistador (a nearby hotel & spa), none of which were better than a B-. The food was well prepared, and the portions generous. The prices were very reasonable. The drinks were also much better than the El Conquistador; the bar at the pool of El Conquistador were watery nothings; the bar near the docks, a little better. The Ocean View's libations were very potent and the cost, very inexpensive. Staff was friendly and helpful. We had two dinners there, and tried a variety of dishes. All were great. read more
