We had such an amazing stay at ocean vista resort. The room was very clean and comfortable, fully stocked with a full kitchenette supplies, comfortable bed, clean and luxurious spa like shower. Instead of basic tile they have stones. Felt amazing on the feet ! Great nautical beach vibe theme. The pool and sauna were very clean too! I stayed in this place this past 4th of July weekend 2023. The place looks cute from the outside but as soon as you go in the room it's disappointing. Every room is dark and depressing with only one window out front. The room had a bad vibe and was overcrowded and Kind of dirty. The amenities outside are fine. With a tennis court and the beach but the beach was never cleaned. I've stayed in other hotels in Amagansett and they always clean their beach, not here. I found all sorts of trash out on the beach. To make matters worse, I GOT BIT BY BEDBUGS! I woke up the next morning with bites all over my chest, my stomach, my neck and my upper back. The bite marks were zig zagged, like bed bug bites, and of course the management didn't want to admit they have bedbugs. I was in such shock because I thought the dark depressing room couldn't get any worse, but it did. I had to endure the bites for weeks, and of course went to great lengths to make sure I didn't take the bugs home with me. This is unacceptable. I've traveled all over the world and have never experienced this, even in remote places with limited resources. Ocean Vista has no excuse not to clean the rooms, vacuum and change the sheets to keep the rooms bug free. It is outrageous and not worth staying there. Please save yourselves. Staying there is not worth getting bed bug bites! read more

Pros: One of the most beautiful beach locations, only a few steps away from the hotel, away from crowds closer to town. Beds were super comfortable. Perks include rackets and tennis balls for the tennis court, ping pong, inflatable toys at the heated indoor swimming pool, beach chairs and umbrellas and kitchenette complete with all utensils. Very kid friendly. Cons: You might want to bring your own towels for the pool (those provided were grey and questionable looking) and bring your own coffee (There is a coffee pot with filters but no coffee provided in the rooms. Coffee is available in the main office at 9 am - Kinda late). WiFI in the rooms is spotty. My kids loved the pool but it was sandy at the bottom and looked like it was only cleaned periodically. Here's the scoop if you're arriving from NYC without a car: If you're taking the Jitney, you need to get off at the Napeague stop (not a regular stop on the Jitney - requires a phone call ahead of time). We got off at the Amagansett stop by mistake (no one in the office informed us), and we had to take an uber which was another $20. If you're planning to go to the town of Montauk or Amagansett there is a free Hampton Hopper bus that stops 2 x per day near the hotel but only on weekdays and is one-way. Otherwise, you'll need to take an uber, running you anywhere between $20-$30 each way. However, big plusses are the bagel place, pizza place and Lobster roll restaurant all within walking distance - walking along wide shoulder of the highway. You are about a 7-10 minute drive to the downtown area where all the shops and restaurants are. Each room is individually owned and therefore decorated and furnished differently. Unfortunately, I wound up with an outdated room with an old CRT TV, a tiny stove/refrigerator/sink combination, no dresser, and the air conditioner is in the bathroom. There are better rooms that have flat screen TVs, stainless steel full size refrigerators, and many other upgrades. I'd heard you can ask the front desk for a newly renovated room. I tried this and was denied though. Rudely, might I add. My room also was hideously decorated. The couch is vinyl and disgusting, the bed feels like it has bed bugs, and the shower head is so overpowered taking a shower gives me a headache. The only redeeming qualities seem to be that it has a tennis court, a courtyard with tables and chairs, and is really close to the beach. Regardless, Ocean Vista Resort is a shabby old motel, not a resort. Probably the worst place you could stay in the Hamptons. read more

Decor is dated, but no one seems to care. I wish it was cheaper because there isn't much to the place. There's an onsite tennis court and picnic tables with BBQ area. Plenty of lounge chairs, but the tables with chairs are all on the first level. First come first serve. Bathroom is actually pretty big with the closet and drawers. Stall shower. Good water pressure. Tiny if you're a bigger person. The place comes with a decent kitchen with all you'll need some come with groceries. Beach access is great with lounge chairs. No umbrellas. The bagel spot is walking distance, and I think that's the most important thing! The lobster place Lunch was great, and Fonditas for tacos and nachos. All day. $35 cab ride. Bring your bikes hipsters. Cheapest way to get around! read more

Just spent a fantastic weekend at Ocean Vista with everything my girlfriend and I could ask for. We stayed in a newly full renovated room - Number 217 on the second floor and were lucky enough to enjoy two amazing sunsets from the Adirondack chairs right outside our door. Bathroom was great and my girlfriend really enjoyed having a hair dryer and a separate make up mirror she used before we went out. Comes with a Moen rain shower! There were also 2 full length mirrors which was also very convenient. It did rain for a few hours one day, so we cooked popcorn and watched some Netflix in bed as the Smart TV swiveled 90 degrees off the wall. The full size fridge easily kept our wine chilled along with all our food we grilled directly on the property. The beach was less than a 100 yards from our room. Couldn't have asked for a more relaxing weekend. We will definitely be asking to stay in room 217 when we book again at Ocean Vista later this summer. read more

The word "resort" does NOT apply - don't be mislead. Not the best - not the worst. The beach is great! Easy access, clean, being private for Ocean Vista guest makes it really nice. The facilities itself - there are many many many "little adjustments" that could be made that would be it much much better - 1) we had boken coffee pot--it brewed but we had to put rubber band around basket 2) would be nice if lights at entrance were on at night as they were off or broke all 3 nights we stayed 3) just overall appearance of the rooms very motelish - certainly not "resort" Would we go back, probably not - but again, if it's just for a couple nights/maybe long weekend - not the worst place just could be better for price. read more

To start off, there wasn't any wifi. Could not find any service within this motel. Secondly, all the doorknobs were extremely difficult to open which made it challenging to open or close any doors. Lastly the indoor pool was cold and creepy which was not pleasant. Personally I would not want to stay here again unless these things are fixed. Regardless of the reviews I have seen elsewhere, this place is exactly what you see at every other beach community in the world. The co-op rooms are varied in style and decor. There is nothing in the way of services, other than the towels and room service staff. Indoor pool is only open during office hours and tennis courts are outdated. Guess what, who cares!!!! The beach is a two minute walk away, chairs await you and the ocean calls. If you want a cool room with services stay at a high end resort and pay ten times as much. If you want a nice room and easy access to the beach, this is the place. Pros: Easy access to beach. Charcoal grills if you like that. Lots of outdoor seating for lower level ( where we stayed) Cons: Can hear neighbors upstairs (sometimes) Parking is sometimes a pain if you are in beachside lot. Tennis court is older, I don't play but just in case you do. Would for sure stay again, especially for the price. It cannot be beat. read more

We had a very nice stay we booked a room for 4 people for 3 nights we had room 212. There is a spa and a swimming pool plus a tennis court. The beach is just in front of the resort. The last day we stay after the check out and they let us stay for no additional fee. The service for us was just perfect they were very helpful. We had a barbecue also (bought everything for it). We spent an awesome night They give you beach towels and beach umbrella for free and the beach is not crowded and quiet :) Try to rent a car if you plan to stay longer. Awful awful awful! It is in no way shape or form a resort! It's a motel! Plain and simple. Save yourself the money! There were six of us and we booked it through an events company who often does Hamptons wknd events (which is what we did). We were told they were giving us a package deal, including breakfast (frozen Thomas bagels from the supermarket, I kid you not). Coffee served with no milk, it was a joke. Our room had ants, one air conditioner in the bathroom so if someone was taking a shower & it's 100 degrees youre out of luck. read more

We made a reservation online, received confirmation of our reservation and proceeded to book travel arrangements. An hour after we received the confirmation, the hotel called to say that they would not be able to honor our reservation because they had double booked it which left us in a complete bind. If they had in fact they had made an honest mistake and double booked a room, they should have let us know immediately. They did not and they made no offer to amend the situation in the future. Only gets three stars for thee beach location otherwise it's not a great place. The two women who work there really need to work on their prevention and facial expressions when dealing with guests. We rented to rooms with a total of 9 guests and whenever we asked for towels for the pool or beach these women got seriously weird about handing out towels . We were even told it takes 1 hour and 30 minutes to wash towels in an attempt to Curtail our towel usage. And that if we lose a towel it's a $50.00 charge. Besides that the rooms are ok but don't look under the bed because you'll find what looks to be like a sandstorm blew through. Overall not the best place. read more

This place is the hidden gem of the Hamptons. By Hamptons standards, it's very affordable with adorable studio efficiency rooms (so they have kitchens, plates and utensils, coffee makers, microwaves, etc). The best thing is it is right on the beach, which makes for a beautiful stay. You're really close to Clam Bar and Lobster Roll for lunch and then a quick ride to Amagansett in one direction and Montauk in the other. The Jitney stops just a few steps away from the resort entrance, so it's super convenient if you don't drive. Other things that are good to know is they have tennis courts, an indoor pool, and the most incredibly helpful and wonderful staff (Pam and Evie are awesome). I have been coming here for years with bigger groups, solo, or anything in between, and highly recommend it! read more
