Please save your money and stay somewhere else as this place needs to be shut down and refurbished ASAP. There here are many other great options to stay on Shelter Island.

The bathroom featured an oversized jacuzzi tub that appeared in need of a deep clean and lacked a proper shower, offering only a handheld sprayer. We raised these concerns, along with others, directly with management after our stay. While they acknowledged some maintenance issues, they maintained that the property was accurately represented.

As soon as we entered into the little lobby for check in, the owner's dog Koda greeted us when we checked in. The woman at the front desk checked us in around 2:30 which I was surprised since check in is usually 4:00. Our room was ready so we decided to go in and unpack. We got a standard room which was perfect for the two of us. The bed was super soft and comfy and I gotta say it was a great nights sleep. Those hotel comforters are soo cozy!! The room was a little small but not by much, it was a very nice room. The linens were clean, overall the whole room was clean and I loved the nautical decor. The bathroom was nice, 1 sink and a nice walk in shower that I really liked. We really enjoyed the courtyard area outside because it had Adirondack chairs surrounded by little fire pits that they lit up at night. We didn't go in the pool because it was only 60° but in the sun it was still nice. Anyone who's looking for a great motel in town here, go to Daunt's!! You won't be disappointed! The oysters were a bit of a shell shock (little pun humor) with how small they actually were. I understand it's not the best season currently but I don't think a restaurant should serve dime sized oysters that are 85% breading for over 20$, but that's just me. The scallop dish positive was that they werent over cooked but the only flavor I got was black pepper. The beans themselves didn't have a taste even though they were in a sort of sauce. The NY Strip felt like it was cooked first and then had seasoning added after the fact so was very bland. At the end of the day, it was a meal and I ate it as I was pretty hungry. I dont know if it was maybe an off day for the kitchen or if that's the norm for flavora. What I can say tho are that the drinks are very much worth having if you'd like to watch the sunset.

Our unit was spacious with a small eat in kitchen. The two bedrooms were very spacious with one of them having a fold out futon. I slept on the futon which wasn't uncomfortable at all. The unit itself could comfortably sleep probably 8 but we were four women and since it was spacious we just spread out. The location of the resort itself is perfect. Across the street and a short stroll down a path to get to the beach. It's literally 5 min from the main part of town. You also have access to the pool which is a nice size and doesn't get too crowded. I loved this place so much, I'm already scouting dates to take my husband back out east. I would totally stay here again. It really is great for family but also bachelorette parties!

There are also foosball and ping pong tables available. Our room was very comfortable, incredibly clean, and beautiful. We were across the street from beach access which was lovely, and the hotel had beach chairs and umbrellas available to borrow. This was a life-saver because we forgot our umbrella at home!
