Really enjoyed my short but sweet stay here. Sebastian who greeted us during check-in is an extremely nice, easy going guy who was able to answer all of my questions. The grounds and the room, are clean, cozy, comfortable and airy. I love it here, I'll be back. Good: -Free parking -Literally across the street from the beach entrance -Comfortable bed -Pool area includes: hammocks, and shaded beach chairs to read and/or nap -Bikes that can be borrowed for free -Outdoor patio area by reception is great and includes: an outdoor shower grills to cook food with picnic table to eat on a bin that has beach chairs, and sun umbrellas to borrow at the beach Bad: -None

I had the greatest experience here. Montauk in itself is a beautiful and relaxing beach town, but since this was my first time searching for a hotel in the area, I had my concerns about choosing the right place. I booked a room during the last week of the off-season and got a great deal (only downfall was the occasional rain, but we got some nice weather towards the end). The Inn is right across the street from the beach, so if you book a room on the second floor you may be able to get a view. However the windows all seem to face the public balcony so we kept our blinds closed most of the time. It's also a block away from Main street, so there's plenty to do within walking distance. I definitely suggest going for breakfast/brunch at any of the nearby diners. The front desk staff were very friendly and had lots of suggestions on things to do and places to eat in the area. The rooms were very clean and comfortable. If you're expecting a 5-star suite, you'll obviously be disappointed, but we were more than satisfied. We did have a minor issue with the shower because the water temperature is hard to control, but honestly we enjoyed ourselves so much during our trip that it hardly mattered. The grounds are gorgeous! They have a hammock, porch swing and outdoor shower to wash off the sand from the beach. Parking might be an issue if you go during the peak season but for us it was no problem. We're planning on making Montauk a yearly destination so we will definitely be back!

Great hotel for price and location! Service was so nice, attentive, and professional. Can't beat the location, amenities ( beach chairs, wagons, bikes, BBQ, outdoor shower, beach towels) and the brand new bathrooms and updated rooms. We plan on visiting this hotel again!

With a plethora of motel-style choices, we were happy to land here. Pros: Adorable and quaint. Staff is lovely and so personable. Free bike rentals and boogie boards. Private courtyard with bench swings, beach chairs and outdoor shower. Across the street beach access. Walking distance to town (local map provided). Room amenities: Biodegradable shower products, water bottles, alarm clock with a USB attachment to play music! Good size closet for storage and clothes. Flat screen TVs. Menu and local attractions binder. Small window next to A/C - Heating unit and window in bath room for for cross ventilation. Cons: Not great sound barrier between rooms. Mattresses definitely need to be updated, as well as the carpets which are not a great color (personal preference). Recommendations: Reserve an upstairs corner unit for most privacy and best views, with private picnic table. Bring your own pillows unless you love a super fat firm pillow.

I would stay here 100 times! This hotel is immaculate. Our modern beach themed room with queen bed was on the smaller side but what it lacked in space it made up for in cleanliness, comfort and amenities. We were able to comfortably get ready for a welcome party and a wedding. No problems at all. They have an iron and a small size ironing board. Cable TV, table, chairs and a very comfortable bed. The room could use a few more outlets or a charging station but honestly we had no issues. They have a beautiful HEATED salt water swimming pool that it shares with its sister property next store. They also have a separate outside lounge area with a hammock and lots of lounge chairs. The property is week kept and has flowers - it is really cared for. The cleaning staff even mop the outside walkway! The inn offers FREE bike rentals and free beach chairs and separate towels to use for the beach. Oh! And they are just STEPS from the beach!

    Great view!

I have nothing bad to say about this hotel! I stayed in late July and Sebastian and the rest of the staff went out of their way to make it a memorable experience. To the small details that are scattered throughout the hotel (free use of beach chairs, umbrellas, picnic tables, wifi, grills, bathroom toiletries, beautifully furnished rooms, etc.), you can notice the thought that is put into everything they do. The room was extremely clean and well stocked. The hotel itself is directly across the street from the beach and down the block from the main road. The convenience, helpfulness of staff and luxury that this hotel offers, makes it an easy recommendation for all my friends. I hope to go again next summer!

The rooms are on the smaller side, but comfortable. The bed linens are like you are sleeping on a cloud. You can control the air conditioning to your liking. The room has very little in the way of amenities - free water, sparkling water, popcorn, hairnets, and makeup remover. No bath robe or slippers, so be sure to bring your own. The pool is very small but it does go up to 8 feet, which is nice. The cafe/restaurant on the premises is awesome. We loved all of the baked goods including the ham and cheese miso scone, the croissants, and the cookies. This area of the beach was quiet during the week. Fun place to sun bathe, watch the surfers, and really relax. While we were at Marram, I also took advantage of one of their free meditation sessions. If you're there while Raymond is doing the meditation, definitely check it out! It was a very relaxing way to kick off our stay. The walls are hilariously thin, but nothing that we weren't able to sleep through. Our room faced the courtyard and I was worried that it would be too loud at night, but it seems like they're serious about enforcing the quiet hours, which is nice. If you're looking for a chill, close to everything, walk onto the beach resort, this is the place for you!

If you're looking for five star accommodations, this is not it. No room service, no concierge and very little available as far as food and beverage service. This place has been remodeled into a serene, minimalist getaway with very few distractions from the outside world. No TV's in the rooms and no complimentary newspaper; both of which make this the perfect escape. Get a room with a view of the ocean and you'll enjoy the scenery and the sounds. Unplug and enjoy the quiet environment. Read a book. Don't laugh, but the soap and shampoo make you smell like vacation. Take advantage of the heated pool and beach chairs and walk into town for meals and cocktails. Everything in Montauk is only a few minutes away by car. I would suggest trying to plan your stay in the slower part of the season to avoid the influx of the Instagram influenced city folk. As I mentioned, the food and beverage were the only areas that could use some help. It's daylight by 5am but the restaurant doesn't open until 8am, so you'll have to hike into town for coffee. Or sleep late. Coffee was great though. Breakfast was also minimalist but really amazing; simple food done well. 4-5 savory selections and a great assortment of pastries. The lunch / dinner service was puzzling so we avoided it (literally a protein with sides for $45 and the menu was not published). Cocktails were on point; pricey, but you're in the Hamptons so it's expected that every cocktail is $20. It would have been cool if they had some "pool food" or "beach food." I don't do the Yelp thing often but figured I would share my thoughts for posterity. I'm on the fence about going back to Marram. On one hand, we already have our room picked out for the next visit. On the other hand I don't think I can ever recreate such an amazing and relaxing vacation. We'll see.

Starting with the room, the size was good, but it could have been cleaner. I noticed some dust and dirt in the corners, and the room felt like it could use an update. The coffee machine looked older and wasn't very clean, the refrigerator wasn't working properly, and there wasn't an ice machine nearby--you have to call the front desk for ice. At night, the room wasn't very soundproof. You can hear footsteps from the room above, along with other noises, so if you're a light sleeper, it's something to keep in mind. On the weekend, the hotel was lively because of a wedding and the nightclub. There was music until around midnight, and when guests left, the noise from the cars made it difficult to get a full night's sleep. The food and drinks were very good, although they were on the expensive side. I was happy with the quality of the dining experience. Most of the staff were fine, though I noticed a few employees who seemed less welcoming. Thankfully, everyone I interacted with was polite. The overall atmosphere was the highlight of my stay. The property has a beautiful, relaxing vibe with a classy crowd, and I especially loved the morning yoga classes. I spent about $5,000 for a two-night stay, so I expected a more luxurious room experience. Mine was one of the more affordable room categories, and it didn't feel especially upscale for the price. Next time, I would probably visit for the food, drinks, beach, or spa day pass instead of staying overnight. If you're looking for a lively resort with plenty of events and activities, this is a great choice. If you're looking for a very quiet hotel, you may want to consider other options.

After learning this, we figured we would spend most of our time in the hot tubs. Turns out, the heater went down for those also didn't work. The pool and the hot tubs were basically polar plunges. We booked a corner ocean view with a large balcony. The room itself was nice. Large, spacious and a wonderful shower with very nice water pressure. However, the room had ants. And a lot of them. I wish I took pictures. For a newly renovated property, you would think the HVAC systems would have been upgraded. But no. The heating in the room was so loud we actually had to turn it off in the middle of the night because it prevented us from sleeping. This property as a whole puts A-LOT of money on the esthetics. The lighting it beautiful, the wall decor is gorgeous, but it's the the things you don't see easily that need help. Ripped cushions, rotting wood on the patio, ants, poor HVAC, and clearly not a 24/7 on call pool repair for a resort that in the summer time charges $1500 a night for a basic room. Again, you book a winter getaway at a place like this to enjoy the pool and spa. When it's not working properly it just ruins the entire trip and there is no point in staying there. A seperate review of the restaurant was already posted by me. The restaurant was the saving grace. But I absolutely will not stay at this property again.

On a Sunday morning during the month of July, even with a relatively quiet dining room, the service was terrible. We had to run down a server just for water and coffee. The coffee, if you can call it that, is watered down and tasteless. We asked for cream and sugar, none came, so we had to go get it ourselves from the kitchen. Bizarre. The banana bread, which is $16, is literally one slice with fresh bananas. OK, so I am fine with paying higher prices for the location, but $16 for one slice of banana bread? Give me a break. Turkey sausage patties are literally 1 mm thick. The avocado toast, which was a very light spread of avocado on toasted bread, was extremely spicy. Totally fine with tortilla chips for a dinner, but certainly not for a breakfast entrée. The smoked salmon came with cucumbers, which had a very weird medicinal taste. The only person happy with their breakfast had ordered the scrambled eggs. Tough to mess that up. One of our party asked for an over easy egg on the side, and they wouldn't do it. Asked for a fruit basket, but it never came. Service and quality of food were both extremely disappointing. The only redeeming quality is the location. However, we were told the manager was unavailable because he was busy speaking with regulars at a table. I asked if we could simply be placed on hold until he was available so we could find a solution. We were told no. Instead, the employee said they would "leave a note" and that someone would call us back if they were able to help. Meanwhile, we were told that if the reservation was canceled, we would be charged a $135 cancellation fee -- despite the fact that we were actively trying to work with the restaurant to either reschedule or resolve the situation. The experience became even more unacceptable when the employee eventually hung up on us and then stopped answering our calls. The restaurant only answered after American Express contacted them on our behalf. To be clear, I have no issue with a restaurant having a cancellation policy. What I have an issue with is the way this situation was handled: being told the manager was "too busy" to speak with us, being refused the simple courtesy of being placed on hold, having our calls screened, and ultimately being hung up on. That is an embarrassing level of customer service for an establishment of this caliber. I genuinely hope someone in management -- above the person working the restaurant that evening -- takes this seriously and addresses this behavior. A cancellation policy is one thing; treating a customer with this level of disrespect is another.
