We stayed right before Memorial Day and loved our stay. We had looked at multiple hotels and this was our first time to the area, I'm glad we went with this one. We actually were more pleasantly surprised with the room and stay than we expected. They worked with us on a late check in, the room and bathroom were great, everything was clean, walking distance to shops and restaurants, walking across the street and you're on the beach. We did use the beach chairs and umbrella one afternoon, those did have some mold or mold stains on there and umbrella was bent..but could still use them. I think they are due for cleaning after the winter, or maybe replacement. The sister property has the pool and we spent some time on the hammock and lounge chairs. They had some shade, which was great bc it was needed for someone fair skinned in our party. We tried swimming but it was just a tad too chilly to swim yet for me. One night there wasn't enough parking but we parked on the grass across the street and were told by security that it was fine. A con I'd say is when you hang the privacy placard on the door, the housekeepers still come into your room, and leave a tip envelope.. that irritated me that they disregarded the privacy placard. But hopefully management will see this and pass on the message so that won't happen to you. Hope that gives you an idea of what to expect. I have stayed in various motels along South Emerson Avenue since the 2000s. This Inn is very utilitarian with small, but efficient and clean rooms at a good value. Odd house/motel directly behind my bathroom window, but the Inn has plenty of cameras and locks to allow key-only guest entrance to the room areas/porches and courtyards/pool. The pool was in the adjacent sister resort, but went there once since the beach is very close, as is the town. The staff were courteous, but don't understand other Yelp reviews raving about how great the service was. NO free upgrade or anything else, just nice people/employees- what it should be. I intend to go back- maybe in peak season. read more

The Ocean Resort Inn is immaculate, the staff is very friendly and helpful, and the amenities are excellent. The heated outdoor pool behind the hotel is equipped with a beautiful lounge area with comfortable lounge chairs, towels, multiple pool floats, and mini basketballs and floating hoop to play with. There are also foosball and ping pong tables available. Our room was very comfortable, incredibly clean, and beautiful. We were across the street from beach access which was lovely, and the hotel had beach chairs and umbrellas available to borrow. This was a life-saver because we forgot our umbrella at home! Great value & a hidden gem. Although a kept appearance it presents like an older motel on the outside. After a closer look you will find it is updated on the inside & very clean with quite a few in room amenities. I would definitely go back. The grounds and the room, are clean, cozy, comfortable and airy. I love it here, I'll be back. My husband and I recently stayed at the Ocean Resort Inn in Montauk.  We have previously stayed at other hotels in Montauk, each of which were much more expensive.  We chose this hotel based on price and location..  It was a few hundred dollars cheaper than all the other hotels that we had stayed at..  I have to say that we were extremely happy with our accommodations.   The room was recently refurbished and was very bright.  There was a flat screen TV, plenty of room, nice shower with excellent water pressure, a refrigerator with a freezer. The help was very accommodating.  A nice bonus was that they provided towels, chairs and umbrellas for the beach, as well as bicycles to use while staying there.  There were some tables with umbrellas for guests to use, as well as several grills.  it should be noted that these grills were cleaned each day and covered, which is impressive!  There was a pool, but we never used it, as we spent the days at the beach.   The location on S. Emerson Avenue, is really convenient.  There is an entrance to the beach directly across the street and the Plaza, which is the center of town, is just a few blocks away.  We parked our car when we arrived and never moved it until we left, as everything we needed was within walking distance. We will come back to this hotel next year when we return to Montauk.  We recommend the Ocean Resort Inn to anyone who wants to enjoy Montauk, without having to spend an insane amount of money. read more

I had the greatest experience here. Montauk in itself is a beautiful and relaxing beach town, but since this was my first time searching for a hotel in the area, I had my concerns about choosing the right place. I booked a room during the last week of the off-season and got a great deal (only downfall was the occasional rain, but we got some nice weather towards the end). The Inn is right across the street from the beach, so if you book a room on the second floor you may be able to get a view. However the windows all seem to face the public balcony so we kept our blinds closed most of the time. It's also a block away from Main street, so there's plenty to do within walking distance. I definitely suggest going for breakfast/brunch at any of the nearby diners. The front desk staff were very friendly and had lots of suggestions on things to do and places to eat in the area. The rooms were very clean and comfortable. If you're expecting a 5-star suite, you'll obviously be disappointed, but we were more than satisfied. We did have a minor issue with the shower because the water temperature is hard to control, but honestly we enjoyed ourselves so much during our trip that it hardly mattered. The grounds are gorgeous! They have a hammock, porch swing and outdoor shower to wash off the sand from the beach. Parking might be an issue if you go during the peak season but for us it was no problem. We're planning on making Montauk a yearly destination so we will definitely be back! read more

This place was not only clean and quiet but the service was wonderful. The staff was very hospitable, allowing us to continue using the amenities for the afternoon post check-out. They even gave us a free upgrade to a suite! The hotel is in a central location, within walking distance to all the great restaurants and bars, and of course the beach! This is certainly a keeper!! What a pleasant surprise. We stayed from Monday to Thursday & were sorry to leave. The suite was bright and sparkling clean. We found the bed to be so comfortable that we asked for the name of the manufacturer. The guests can help themselves to beach chairs & towels. There are many amenities available. Mattresses definitely need to be updated, as well as the carpets which are not a great color (personal preference). I would stay here 100 times! This hotel is immaculate. Our modern beach themed room with queen bed was on the smaller side but what it lacked in space it made up for in cleanliness, comfort and amenities. We were able to comfortably get ready for a welcome party and a wedding. No problems at all. They have an iron and a small size ironing board. Cable TV, table, chairs and a very comfortable bed. The room could use a few more outlets or a charging station but honestly we had no issues. They have a beautiful HEATED salt water swimming pool that it shares with its sister property next store. They also have a separate outside lounge area with a hammock and lots of lounge chairs. The property is week kept and has flowers - it is really cared for. The cleaning staff even mop the outside walkway! The inn offers FREE bike rentals and free beach chairs and separate towels to use for the beach. Oh! I have nothing bad to say about this hotel! I stayed in late July and Sebastian and the rest of the staff went out of their way to make it a memorable experience. To the small details that are scattered throughout the hotel (free use of beach chairs, umbrellas, picnic tables, wifi, grills, bathroom toiletries, beautifully furnished rooms, etc.), you can notice the thought that is put into everything they do. The room was extremely clean and well stocked. The hotel itself is directly across the street from the beach and down the block from the main road. I just got back and I simply had to write a review for this fine establishment. You rarely see a business getting consistent rave reviews and I can see why this place does. I absolutely adored the hotel and thoroughly enjoyed my stay. Everything about this hotel, and its attention to detail is extremely well thought it. The amenities: complimentary bikes, beach chairs, boogie boards, umbrellas (none of which I used since it was pretty cold but amazing that they offer). Welcome refreshments which included water, peanuts, chocolate such a nice touch. Toiletries include your standard shampoo, conditioner, soap, face soap, lotion, plus toothpaste, mouthwash, nail file, q-tips, shower cap, makeup remover, floss picks. Things you don't even get at a fancy hotel lol. There were plenty of towels. The softest hotel towels ever. There were even beach towels. A throw blanket for the couch which I definitely used since it was chilly. Other standard amenities: hair dryer, iron, fridge, coffee maker, plus microwave which is not that standard. The room was modern and beachy with nice décor. I wanted to live there. Super clean. There wasn't one thing to complain about. The front desk person Katerina was so pleasant and helpful. What a great place! No, really...GREAT! Not just because we were upgraded without us having to asking. (Thank You!) The room had: -TWO bathrooms -a jacuzzi -a coffee pot with coffee and such -a refrigerator with freezer -a microwave -many personal items (mouthwash, toothpaste, shower cap, floss, mending kit, and a whole lot more) -was very clean and modern -plenty of clean towels -and was a stones throw from the beach across the street. I loved the bed. I have herniated discs, so a bed that's a little soft is perfect for me. This would be the first time I ever slept away from home and didn't have to take muscle relaxers immediately upon waking up! The grounds are well kept. They have a salt water pool and bench style swings to while away the day. Also helpful, you're about a two block walk to Main Street, which I'm sure would be helpful during the busy season. (We visited in October) My only complaint, and this won't effect everyone. No hand held shower head in either bathroom. With back issues often comes flexibility issues. A removable shower head in either shower would have helped tremendously. read more

My boyfriend and I stayed here for two nights in early May, and I really wanted to love it, but sadly I feel like it was pretty average. As other reviewers have noted, the location is great (steps from the ocean), the owners are friendly, and the rooms are clean and charming. However, I would argue that the most important thing in any hotel room is the bed, since you're mainly there to sleep. And this is where the Ocean Resort Inn falls down. The mattress was lumpy, and the pillows were honestly some of the worst I have ever experienced. The stuffing in mine was literally falling apart and it was so uncomfortable to sleep on that I kept waking up with a sore ear. By the end of our stay there, my boyfriend's back was killing him from the mattress. Another negative was the shower, which had a severely clogged drain (to their credit, I reported this upon checking out, and it seemed like they were eager to fix it). Also, due to the air flow in the bathroom, the shower curtain kept sticking to our legs whenever we were bathing, which was kind of gross. Overall, the hotel is really cute and in a great spot, but the bed situation alone would probably prevent us from returning. If they upgrade the beds, we'd be back in a flash. read more

The location was perfect right across the street from the beach and walking distance to everything in town. We took advantage of the pool and bikes. It was a perfect montauk weekend! I visited with a few friends, and we found ourselves hanging out with her in the evenings. She's a sharp witted riot. And one of 3,000 Montauk locals. Make sure you ask her where to go for the best sunset views. Ocean Inn provides beach chairs & towels. The rooms are modest but immaculate. My boyfriend and I were here June 2017 and it is almost a year later and I am still thinking about how perfect it was! We came before the season technically started and we could not have lucked out more with perfect weather, and a perfect place to stay. It was truly the perfect stay. Sebastian made everything simple to check in and check out. He provides guests with towels, toiletries, beach chairs, bikes and much more. There were so many nice touches to our stay here. The pool is shared with Aqualina I believe. The pool is perfect as well! The beach is the perfect distance away. Upon check out we were not ready to leave Montauk just yet and Sebastian had no problem with us leaving our care there. We definitely will be back! read more

As far as Montauk hotels go, Ocean Resort Inn is one of the best as far as convenience to the beach and bars/restaurants, cleanliness, and amenities such as heated pool and bikes. My only complaint would be the rooms are very small and the Queen size bed is actually a full size. Stayed for a four day weekend. Had a great time! Sebastian was super friendly, and the room was very clean with no mildew smell which I was worried about considering it's an older motel. Centrally located and in walking distance to everything in town. Only problem, which is not the hotels fault is that the blue hotel across the street is a bit of a frat party type hotel and when we would go to the beach in the morning, especially on Sunday, there was litter all over the beach including a bit of broken glass on the walking path to the beach. Great setup, with porch swings (which I enjoyed very much!) and clean, simple rooms, including a very powerful AC/heater that served me very well when I visited in windy, rainy 50 degree weather. The Wi-Fi was spectacular (I watched Netflix!). They're also literally a 30 second walk to the beach. And staff is so nice and friendly! The exterior looks like a no-frills, run of the mill quaint beach-side hotel. The room we had was comfortable, immaculately clean and spacious. There were extra towels and pillows and a large comfortable bed. The Jacuzzi/spa bath was a wonderful feature. The inn is also literally a stones throw from the beach, and convenient to local bars, restaurants and shops. Check in was quick and efficient due in part to the very pleasant young lady in the office. We had hoped to spend a second night here, but sadly the Ocean Resort Inn was booked in full. The office staff assured us they would let us know in the event of a cancellation. We also didn't get a chance to use the free bikes that they have there as we thought that was a fabulous amenity. Check out was at 11am, but this was unrushed. We simply dropped our keys off in a box outside the office. It wasn't until we took a room at another hotel the following night that we really appreciated the experience and staff of Ocean Resort Inn. The new hotel wasn't nearly as quaint, charming or pleasant...In addition to this, we had groups partying outside our door well into the evening. We like a good party too, but trying to sleep while a group is being loud and raucous 5 feet away isn't ideal. There are plenty of party spots in Montauk. I addressed the issue with the front desk, and was told it would be dealt with. It wasn't. I hope our next stay at Ocean Resort Inn will be longer. We had a lovely time. Our only grievance, and it is a minor one was that the shower's temperature wasn't consistent. It went from too hot to too cold without touching the nozzles. The hotel also has complimentary bikes and helmets for people who want a careless vacation. The staff are laid back yet attentive. I stayed here for one night this past weekend and I was very impressed! There are a lot of dingy hotels in the area and the Ocean Resort Inn stands out among them. Very clean, welcoming and friendly staff, great location, easy parking, did I say clean? I could go on and on. Check-in was quick and easy, and they handed me a map of Montauk with my room keys which was nice. It is right across from the beach (2 minute walk) and right behind the town of Montauk with it's shops and restaurants (also a 2 minute walk). There are free towels, bikes, and beach chairs for guest use, and upon arrival we noticed two water bottles and Lindt truffles in the room which I thought was a very nice touch. I found the beds and pillows to be very comfortable. Actually, the best night's sleep I've had in awhile. I definitely won't hesitate to stay here next time I am in Montauk! read more

Man, even looking at pictures of Ocean Resort Inn makes me smile. I chanced upon a last-minute reservation here a few years ago, and it has become the staple to our now annual trip out to Montauk. The hotel meets our needs in every way - easy access to the beach, laid-back environment, ample space for entertaining and lounging, and comfy beds to nurse a sunburn. On a particularly hot day, it is such a treat to be able to take haven from the sun at one of the picnic tables at the resort. Beach access is also toward the end of the line of resorts, so the beach area is slightly less crowded directly in front of the inn. There's a great grill set-up in the main area and plenty of beach gear (chairs, towels, etc.) to keep packing light. The accommodations have made everything easy breezy time & time again. I'd recommend the Ocean Resort Inn to anyone looking for quality beach time and clean, well-kept accommodations. We have had such wonderful trips here over the years. The other patrons have always been extremely friendly and respectful... I've never noticed it to be high school party central despite being a more affordable option on MTK. All in all, Ocean Resort Inn is the perfect location for a quaint escape from the City. read more

This is a nice little place very clean even though it's old, Very close to the beach also actually awesome location. Unfortunately those are the only good things about this place. For one they should not call themselves a resort. This place is basically a motel not even a hotel. I understand they are 300ft from the beach but not $550.00 dollars a night worth. I live in Florida and even on a holiday weekend you can stay at a real resort with real amenities. Having bicycles and a BQ I really don't consider amenities. That's really standard at any beach hotel/ motel. Not to mention they didn't have those available due to Covid. Which makes no sense because they had their lounge chairs and picnic table available which probably are used a lot more than the bikes & BQ. Not to mention you have to walk down 1 of 2 alleys basically to get to their pool. My room was very small my shower door was 24 inches wide at best very small. Beds were lumpy and not very good. Tiny tv as was the room. Door had to be slammed to shut properly. I mean really for the $2500.00 I paid for Thursday to Monday check out I expected a lot more. Also it was a little ridiculous that after 9pm you had to be very quiet because they consider that quiet time. I mean really everyone wants to hang outside their rooms after the beach and talk and drink with the people they came with. For what they charge you should be able to do that. I just don't see how they consider themselves a resort there were pretty much no amenities plus the pool area was no where near any of the rooms. You act had to share the pool with their sister hotel. When I looked at all the pictures on their website my wife and I was so excited to get to this place. But unfortunately we were very disappointed when we arrived because all the pictures made it seem like a real high end resort. I understand it was a holiday weekend in Montauk a big tourist location but like I said I live in Florida and have been to key west on holiday weekends and paid less for a lot more than what this hotel offers you. This place should really be called the ocean inn. Because it's not really a resort at all!! When we got into our room which was tiny they also had only 2 towels of each, Any hotel I've ever stayed at always gives you 4 of each. Also they gave 4 pillows but you could really only sleep on 2 of them because the other 2 had shams on them. Bid was lumpy also. For what they charges all my family and friends combined was well over $12,000.00 you would think they would take some of that and invest in new beds in the rooms. They televisions were small also. As a resort I just don't see it. As resort usually he a-lot of amenities this place did not. Not to mention the 2 of them they call amenities were not even available. The only thing that was worth this trip is that I had a-lot of time with my family. They even called one of my family members after check out to let them know a ice bucket was missing from the room they stayed in. Really!!! a $3.00 ice bucket after a guest just paid close to $3000.00 to stay at your so called resort come on man. It seems to me they are trying to recover some of the lost income from Covid. I totally get it that Montauk is a tourist location but so is key west and you get a-lot more for your money there. I feel this is a honest review and not making anything up but this is a cute little old nice hotel that can really be considered a motel, Bit this is definitely not a resort and definitely not worth $550.00 a night just because I'm 300ft from the beach. I just also found it a big inconvenience to go to the pool because you had to either walk down a worn out path of grass or walk basically down a alley with gravel between the 2 hotels, not convenient at all. Also they have a quiet time rule from 9 pm to 9 am I think is totally crazy. Everyone loves to sit and drink and just converse with each other after a day at the beach and for the money they charge you should be able to do that and a lot more. It pains me to write this review but I feel it's a honest one and would not want another guest to be disappointed when they get there after seeing all the nice pictures on their website they posted. Unfortunately for my wife and I this was the first and last time we would stay at this motel. The staff was very nice but really didn't have to do much but keep our rooms clean. If we ever go back to Montauk we would probably just rent a big house with all our family members and save a-lot of money in doing so. Sorry for the poor review but it's basically the truth. read more
