Beach Plum "Resort" may be one of the worst hotels I've every stayed at. The rooms are subpar and the staff (specifically Barbara at the front desk) is rude and unprofessional. She practically harassed my friends and I, making false accusations that we were being too noisy when in actuality it was several other rooms up all night being rowdy. However, due to these other people actually owning the hotel rooms they were staying in, she put all of the blame on our group and was not even reasonable enough to have a civil conversation with us. This place is a scam. Not to mention I think there were BED BUGS in the room (see attached photo). Absolutely terrible experience all around!

Great place to stay in Montauk if going to the beach is your priority. This is right across the street from the beach, and the beach is not filled with many other people. The view of the water from the motel room is great. The living space is clean and comfortable, with good wifi, a kitchen area, and a great pull-out couch. There is a front patio with a table and lounge chairs to relax on. In the rear, there is a grassy picnic area with barbecue grills. There is also a pool, which I did not use or look at, as the beach is right across the street. The staff was kind and accommodating. If you are staying in Montauk for a beach vacation, Beach Plum Resort is an excellent choice.

You may as well burn your money before they steal it.

The company does not care how much notice of cancellation you provide them. They will steal $100.00 from you if you cancel. Beach Plum stole $100.00 from me. Even in the time of COVID 19. Even with OVER 30 days notice of cancellation. Even though I am a senior citizen. They are thieves. Beach Plum is unapologetic when they steal money from their guests. I am outraged at this blatant THEFT of $100.00 from me and my family. I am certain you can find better accommodations than this unscrupulous establishment.

Beach plum is a great hotel to stay at! Let's get the bad out of the way. There are only two reasons I gave this place 4 stars and not 5. The first being that the service is a little slow. I asked for a few extra garbage bags and extra shampoo. The bags showed up much later than the request and the shampoo never showed up. The other reason is that my front door was one of those glass sliding balcony or deck doors. There was no real heavy black out curtain covering it (only a fairly sheer one) which did make us a feel a little exposed. The gate to the desk wasn't lockable which meant really anyone could have walked up and peered into our living space. Now for all the great things about this place. Our room was newly renovated and had everything we could have needed. Tons of plates, mugs, glasses, and utensils for entertaining. Pots, pans, and everything you could need for cooking. We cooked breakfast every morning and it was honestly and great money saver. The space was huge for the price we paid. The bed was very comfy and very clean. The bathroom was extremely clean as well which can be hard to find at some of the cheaper Montauk hotels. Another thing thats hard to find out there is good TV signal and channels which this hotel had. Our front yard area had a small grill, some chairs and a lot of grass space which I could imagine would be great if you came with kids. The pool was really nice and pretty quiet most of the time. There were a lot of chairs and lounging area. The beach is less than a 5 minute walk away. Across the highway and down a little sandy path. The beach there is much quieter and less crowded than the main ones in town. The location is great if you dont want to be right in the middle of the hustle and bustle of town but you also dont want to feel soooo far away. Its a 5 minute drive and probably a 20 minute walk. Overall I would definitely stay here again and was surprised and pleased with how great everything was here.

I came after Labor Day and stayed on the first floor. It was very clean and so cute and cozy. I loved the big sliding door outside- every room has one with a table and two lounge chairs. Also the pool is heated! You can see the ocean from all rooms. The beds were totally fine. Not 5 star luxury, but I had no issue with them and was comfy. Every day they sent a text and you said what you wanted more of and they left it contactless outside your door. Came with two beach towels. About a 10-13 min walk to the main downtown area, but it's a nice walk and all sidewalk. I would recommend this place for a more affordable stay in Montauk. Also there's a path straight to the beach right across the street from the hotel. All of the staff were very friendly and let you arrive early and leave your bags to walk around and explore before the room was ready.

The Beach Plum is definitely for the Beach Bums. The Montauk trip has become a tradition with us, and after trying a few places, I think we finally found the one that will stick. The room was studio apartment style w/ a kitchenette, which is key, so you can bring food to cook and drinks to save a little cash for the few day stay. The decor went with the obvious beach motif, but it was new and clean, and pretty well done, not tacky at all. Actually most of the place seemed new if not extremely clean, which is not what I can say of some other places Montauk has to offer. Price was extremely reasonable for the "in season" rates. Pool access, or a short walk across the beach, and less than a mile to Main St its location is near perfect. My only complaint is the bed. It was so stiff it was like a bouncy table. Replace the beds, and you got a 5er.

I spent a weekend at The Beach Plum and had such an amazing time! I loved our studio unit. It had such a nice vibe with its gorgeous wood wall and photos of Montauk. Tastefully decorated. See photos. The bed was comfy, good WiFi access, good water pressure and temperature in the shower and above all, very clean (all important stuff to me). The best part about the Beach Plum is its location! You can see the ocean from the room and there's very easy access to the beach (just walk across the road and there's a path that leads to the ocean). The patio has two lounge chairs (with cushions in the closet) and two driftwood towel racks (so pretty and nice detail). Also, this room had two beach chairs. So, no need to bring from home. In addition to its proximity to the beach, you can walk right to town. Get the jelly croissants at the Montauk Bake Shoppe. Sooo delicious...kind of like a cronut. I would definitely come back to this resort again and request unit #19. It had everything I needed. So glad a friend recommended The Beach Plum.

Starting with the room, the size was good, but it could have been cleaner. I noticed some dust and dirt in the corners, and the room felt like it could use an update. The coffee machine looked older and wasn't very clean, the refrigerator wasn't working properly, and there wasn't an ice machine nearby--you have to call the front desk for ice. At night, the room wasn't very soundproof. You can hear footsteps from the room above, along with other noises, so if you're a light sleeper, it's something to keep in mind. On the weekend, the hotel was lively because of a wedding and the nightclub. There was music until around midnight, and when guests left, the noise from the cars made it difficult to get a full night's sleep. The food and drinks were very good, although they were on the expensive side. I was happy with the quality of the dining experience. Most of the staff were fine, though I noticed a few employees who seemed less welcoming. Thankfully, everyone I interacted with was polite. The overall atmosphere was the highlight of my stay. The property has a beautiful, relaxing vibe with a classy crowd, and I especially loved the morning yoga classes. I spent about $5,000 for a two-night stay, so I expected a more luxurious room experience. Mine was one of the more affordable room categories, and it didn't feel especially upscale for the price. Next time, I would probably visit for the food, drinks, beach, or spa day pass instead of staying overnight. If you're looking for a lively resort with plenty of events and activities, this is a great choice. If you're looking for a very quiet hotel, you may want to consider other options.

Upon arrival, was notified that the pool was out of service because the heater went down. They said I should have received a call. I didn't. After learning this, we figured we would spend most of our time in the hot tubs. Turns out, the heater went down for those also didn't work. The pool and the hot tubs were basically polar plunges. We booked a corner ocean view with a large balcony. The room itself was nice. Large, spacious and a wonderful shower with very nice water pressure. However, the room had ants. And a lot of them. I wish I took pictures. For a newly renovated property, you would think the HVAC systems would have been upgraded. But no. The heating in the room was so loud we actually had to turn it off in the middle of the night because it prevented us from sleeping. This property as a whole puts A-LOT of money on the esthetics. The lighting it beautiful, the wall decor is gorgeous, but it's the the things you don't see easily that need help. Ripped cushions, rotting wood on the patio, ants, poor HVAC, and clearly not a 24/7 on call pool repair for a resort that in the summer time charges $1500 a night for a basic room. Again, you book a winter getaway at a place like this to enjoy the pool and spa. When it's not working properly it just ruins the entire trip and there is no point in staying there. A seperate review of the restaurant was already posted by me. The restaurant was the saving grace. But I absolutely will not stay at this property again.

Okay, people don't travel to watch TV, but you just want things to work and to relax, and constantly calling the staff to fix the TV and having them in your room failing to fix the TV is not relaxing. Make sure major items in the rooms are working, or have spares and replace them. Period. This place was then too cheap to offer real recompense and gave my family member some awful ski cap that probably cost about 30 cents. Just unacceptable at this price point.

The pool is very small but it does go up to 8 feet, which is nice. The cafe/restaurant on the premises is awesome. We loved all of the baked goods including the ham and cheese miso scone, the croissants, and the cookies. This area of the beach was quiet during the week. Fun place to sun bathe, watch the surfers, and really relax. While we were at Marram, I also took advantage of one of their free meditation sessions. On a Sunday morning during the month of July, even with a relatively quiet dining room, the service was terrible. We had to run down a server just for water and coffee. The coffee, if you can call it that, is watered down and tasteless. We asked for cream and sugar, none came, so we had to go get it ourselves from the kitchen. Bizarre. The banana bread, which is $16, is literally one slice with fresh bananas. OK, so I am fine with paying higher prices for the location, but $16 for one slice of banana bread? Give me a break. Turkey sausage patties are literally 1 mm thick. The avocado toast, which was a very light spread of avocado on toasted bread, was extremely spicy. Totally fine with tortilla chips for a dinner, but certainly not for a breakfast entrée. The smoked salmon came with cucumbers, which had a very weird medicinal taste. The only person happy with their breakfast had ordered the scrambled eggs. Tough to mess that up. One of our party asked for an over easy egg on the side, and they wouldn't do it. Asked for a fruit basket, but it never came. Service and quality of food were both extremely disappointing. The only redeeming quality is the location.
