I finally found a dentist that is more concerned with the teeth I have than trying to sell me something else. Robert Carrera is my dentist and he is very friendly, nice and makes you feel like he cares. My hygienist Nicole is also very friendly and concern about getting your teeth nice and clean. I visited Oceanside Smiles to have a filling that had fallen off inspected. The office is small and conveniently located near my home. The doctor examined me and suggested a treatment plan, which seemed fine at first. The issues began when I reviewed the treatment plan with the front desk. I asked who I could speak to if the charges didn't match my insurance schedule. The staff member immediately replied, "They're correct--I checked myself," with noticeable attitude. Pro Tip: Always call your insurance company to verify rates before agreeing to treatment. When I contacted my insurance, I discovered discrepancies. For example, a non-standard cleaning was listed at $150, but my plan covers it at zero cost. I informed the staff, but they refused to call my insurance for verification. After multiple emails and attempts by my insurance to reach them, the $150 charge was eventually corrected--but then another unexpected fee was added, which was not part of the original plan. They also tried to charge $45 for a desensitizing treatment, which my plan covers at zero copay when fillings are involved. After back-and-forth communication, the staff told my insurance company that I should go elsewhere. To date, I have not received any follow-up from a manager or the doctor. This experience raises concerns about transparency and willingness to work with insurance providers. I hope this review helps others verify charges before treatment and encourages Oceanside Smiles to improve staff training and communication. read more

I was misleaded by this office. They offered a teeth whitening treatement via Facebook ad for new clients. I made an appiontment because I was looking for a new dentist. When I arrived to the appiontment the placed looked run down not a nice new dental office. After waiting for over 50 minutes because the receptionist could not figure out my insurance they finally rushed me in and then said that they did not have time to do the teeth cleaning. I was so annoyed after wasting an hour waiting. I insist in talking to dentist so the proceedure would be done since I took the day off. They rush threw the process. I asked when they would preform the whitening proceedure and they answered that they did not have the material to do it. They told me to call at the end of the week. I left very annoyed. I called the end of the week, and nothing. After calling several weeks the office manager said that I could pick up the teeth whitening kit. When I finally stop what she gave me was an absolutely a joke. They gave me one pack that was not even worth $6. I google the name of whitening kit and the kit comes with 7 packs, this pathetic office gave me one pack worth about $6. Are you kidding me, they wanted to get a new client for $6. Very unethical and pathetic behavior. Don't waste your time and find a dentish office that values their customers. The pack on this picture is not what I recieved, the office took one individual package and have it to me. Very misleading and unprofessional!!! The positive review was probably from friends and family! By the way there is NO confusion on my part, it's insulting for the owner Andy to say there is. I know exactly what office I went too (3870 Mission Ave Oceanside, CA 9205,) they did run Facebook ads to attract new clients last year, other wise why would they of given me this pathetic one pack of teeth whitening. My last dentist never even tried to get approval for a deep cleaning and wanted me to pay $300-400 out of pocket, yet Oceanside Smiles were able to get my insurance approved. Went for my deep cleaning and, although I heard the procedure was very painful from some of my friends, it was easy and painless. Lilia was a fantastic hygienist and very professional! These people are the best, hands down. I've been to various dentists over the years who are pushy, scammy, condescending, lecture me and question why I have the dental issues I have. He even adjusted my glasses because they were messing up my lashes LOL if that doesn't show someone paying personal attention to their clients idk what does.
