Zero Stars! DO NOT USE THIS AUTO REPAIR SHOP! They charged me $11,000 to fix an oil leak in 2024. They replaced the oil pan gasket $595. Still leaking. They replaced the valve cover gasket $895. Still leaking. They replaced the oil pump $1495. Still leaking oil. They replaced the entire engine $7295. Oil stopped leaking. I went in for an oil change three months later and the next day I have a new oil leak in my brand new driveway! They got me 21 years ago for the same thing. Came in for an oil change, then left with an oil leak, then each time you return, something else is sabotaged in your car. I came in for new tires in Oct 2024. They forgot to recommend a wheel alignment. I go back for a wheel alignment a week later because the car was pulling to the right and apparently they did nothing. The car is pulling more to the right than it was when I visited them. Thank the Universe that I came here before going back again. Reading all of the terrible reviews. It reminded me that I came here 21 years ago and I wound up in an endless loop of car repairs that had me almost bankrupt back in 2003 when I was only earning $9hr in life. Ocello's is a butcher shop. DO NOT USE THIS MECHANIC. Next website I'm visiting is the Better Business Bureau, then Facebook, then Instagram, then Google Reviews, Apple Maps, and Bing Maps. Then I'll be dropping by every day like I did today to warn every customer there to get their car out of there as soon as possible. I will be back every day until this place is closed down. Only send people you don't like to Ocello's. Edit Update: They spent a year trying to find an oil leak, only to wind up buying a new engine. Then after the first oil change with the new engine that Ocellos installed, I left with an oil leak again. When I brought it back they said the oil leak was the oil pan gasket and it would only cost $495 to fix it. I declined. I went to Northbrook and they said it was just the seal on the oil filter and only charged me $29 to fix it. Also as mentioned above, I went to Ocellos for new tires. The car drove straight as an arrow for the last 5 years. When I left with the new tires the car pulled to the right. They didn't do a wheel alignment. So I paid $185 for a wheel alignment and there was no change. Still pulled to the right. I went to Tire Kingdom and merely asked for a wheel alignment. I didn't mention anything about Ocellos. Tire Kingdom did the wheel alignment, but nothing changed. It still pulled to the right. When I explained it to the tech at Tire Kingdom he showed me the alignment chart and it shows my right rear tire camber to be off by two degrees. Did Ocellos touch something to cause my camber to get misaligned when they put the new tires on? Who knows. But either way before I visited Ocellos my Honda drove perfectly straight, now it pulls to the right. If you use Ocellos you use them at your own risk, and your wallet will be leaking month after month. read more

I've been here several times over the years and always had good service. I dropped my Car off for an oil change today. The guy at the front counter asked if I wanted them to look at anything else. I asked if they could fill my tires with air as well. He said yes they always do that with oil changes. I go to pick my car up a couple hours later and the guy who hands me the keys says "Your tire air pressure light is on but it will go away when you start driving." I get in the car and it's apparent none of my tires were filled because they are all showing that they need air. I go back inside and bring the issue up and am told I need to drive my vehicle a little for the sensors to catch up. My car isn't like that. As soon as air is put into the tires it is immediately reflected on the dash. Eventually a different guy than the one who did my oil change fills all my tires and they immediately reflect on the dash to be at the right air amount. The guy who did my oil change and gave me the keys lied about putting air in my tires and then tried to get me to leave and drive around for no reason knowing damn well he never put any air in. UPDATE: The following day I was contacted by the business stating their equipment had been faulty and the technician did not realize. They assured me the tire gauge had been replaced and this issue would not occur again. read more

I can't say enough about this automotive center. Usually mechanics get a very bad rep, but this place is honest and will not tell you something needs to be done unless it absolutely does need to be done. I have often been told by them that something I thought might need doing was not necessary. I recently had a problem that I thought might have been under warranty and went to my dealership, where I got a royal runaround. They told me it would be $265 to diagnose, and the repair could run up to $2000. I left and went to Ocello's, they found the problem, fixed it, and wouldn't take money from me as it turned out to be simple. They are the real deal! read more

I will make this review short because Google and BBB already have the biggest details. I am very low-income and unfortunately not very well versed in car things. Ocellos charged me over a thousand dollars for some coil replacements, which I had to go on a payment plan for. This is the third time I have gone back to them for similar/same issues. This time, I went somewhere else for another scan and low and behold the scan showed abnormalities regarding the coils and spark plugs! I took it back to Ocellos and they very kindly offered to look at it again for free... only to want to charge me AGAIN to fix the coils and they claimed there were some brand new issues in my car that had not come up in any scans (no lights in my car indicating an issue). They want another thousand dollars AND refuse to tell me why their previous work was faulty (or if it wasnt) and today I have asked them multiple times to send me a itemized reciept of the past services, and they are not answering. How convenient. If I don't get my money back, I will make sure that everyone I know won't EVER spend theirs at this predatory business. read more

Not only did they "forget" to put my oil cap back which leaked emptied right after I left they tried to hold my car hostage for $1100 breaks saying it's unsafe to give the car back with the low break pads conditions. Then I take the car to a reliable shop aka pepboys for a second opinion and they said the breaks are in good condition and the oil cap was missing. I brought my car there because it wouldn't start. They charge you for just looking at it. They couldn't find out what was wrong with it and I got charge $63 for a half an hour worth of labor he said leave it overnight we have to simulate the problem to do it over again. Then they can fix it. But if they don't find it and if they work on your car another four more hours than to be $100 or $115 an hour and I could have a $400 bill and still car not fixed.. sorry to me that is not good service. It was only AFTER the oil change, I was told to buy a gift card from the Publix located in the plaza, which I did after showing the literal CASH IN MY HAND. I will definitely use them Brought my car back due to a/c died. They spent 2 days rebuilding a/c system and called me 2 x a day to update me. A week later it quits when 100 degrees out. Brought it back and they stood by their work replaced bad part no charge. A Mini Cooper requires the entire front be removed to work on engine and I know they lost on labor alone but I respect a team that does the right thing. read more

I had had a bad experience just several days prior with some new tires. I called Ocellos thinking that they may not want to try to rectify someone else's poor work. Initially I liked this place, but after dumping almost $6000 in our van, I can see that they're just trying to tell you to fix things that don't need to be fixed. We brought the van in to fix the sliding door lock, and they charged us $415 to change the driver and passenger doors?! They also left tar on the carpet by the sliding door indicating that they attempted to change it... They replaced the axel with an aftermarket axel... and a year later it shattered while we were driving, with our kids in the car. He assured me the after market axel was safe. Update to my post in 2022 (3 years since last review).... Last year I needed an oil change in a hurry so I purchased their 3 for 1 offer (they no longer offer it)... I did this because A) they are still the closest to me and B ) pre paying 3 oil changes with a discount felt like a good chance to see if they had changed since my previous bad experiences..... In a word.. nope. The employee's are blunt yet nice, I do not blame them for this (I'm assuming its a company policy)... but each and every time I got those oil changes... "something" was wrong. First time they told me my struts were leaking and needed replacement (they don't)... second time, no mention of the struts, but now my AC needs to be replaced (works perfectly fine)... third oil change.. no mention of the struts or AC, but now 3 of my 4 tires should be replaced. Ironically, while trying to sell me 3 tires on a 15 year old car for $600... the rep said my car was in "really good shape, Honda's like this are usually full of issues and leaks, but yours looks great." I hope people can take my experiments with this shop to heart and learn from it. They might be nice people.. but they don't have your best interest at heart.. they will try to squeeze you for every dime imaginable and pray on you if they think you do not know better. My 2 cents? Ask them to quote you for whatever they say you "need" (if they will even give you a quote) then bring you car to another shop or two and ask how much the job they quoted would cost. It will open your eyes like it did mine. Half the time you probably don't even need the work they claim. read more

Plus, I've had more time to drive it - so I can say with 100% satisfaction that the work done was legit. 30 weeks into my pregnancy, my car stopped on the road. We called around for quotes and received outrageous prices, some charging boatloads just to even look. We had previously gotten a different car fixed there after a quick, over-the-phone diagnosis, so we checked with them. The pricing was great, lower than any other place we called! As a new mom, I appreciated that he took the time to explain the work and show me exactly what they had done to fix the oil pump and tire issue. Went into Ocello's on a Saturday for an oil change. The Service guy at the counter was very pleasant and accommodating. I had my grand-daughter with me, so I wanted to get out as quickly as possible. The Manager came out at one point and introduced himself and asked if we wanted anything to drink. The technician, David did the oil change on my car and was very professional and prompt with the work. He also recommended some other work for my car. I made an appointment for that additional work, which I appreciated to preserve the life of my car. I will go back for a follow-up oil change and any other work, that I may need on my car. I had mixed results here over the years. Some Service Advisors will just complete the requested work, and some will give you a laundry list of repairs that "need" to be done, costing a fortune. My big problem came when the a/c on my car went out. The dealer quoted me $1900 for an OEM a/c. Ocellos quoted me $1700. I went with Ocellos and it was a BIG mistake. Obviously it wasn't an OEM a/c and my car never got cool enough again. When I brought it back the Service Advisor said " well it's really hot outside". I said" it's Florida you dummy of course it's hot outside." He told me to "give it time" which was just his way of getting rid of me. I won't return. read more

I wish there was an option for NO STARS. First of all this shop tries to suggest things for your car that you do not need. They try to rip you off in every way possible. The customer service at the front desk is horrible. I drop off my car to get an oil change on Saturday at 9:30 and they tell me it should be ready in the afternoon. I get a call at 12 from Jo Schmo saying everything that's wrong with my car and trying to sell me parts I do not need. I decline and say just do the oil change. He said it should be ready in a hour. Fast forward to 2:30. I called the shop because nobody called to give me status. The guy said Jo Schmo will let you know the status and I will have him call you back. Fast forward 20 minutes later and no call. I called the shop and they said they haven't even put the oil in the car. They told me to come in 30 minutes and it should be ready. I arrive at the shop and then Jo Schmo tells me he was sorry about everything but when he told me it would be an hour for my car to be finished, he never gave the paper work and the ok to the mechanic to work on my car. He said his shop was just way too busy and they had to work on other cars while my car was sitting there from 12 to 3:30. All it needed was for some oil to be put in it. Do not go to this shop. I went to this shop because I saw the good reviews on Google. I went here for a tire repair. The guy working at the front counter said he will have his workers take a look at my tire and see what can be done. One of his workers went outside and started looking at my tire, the guy from the front desk comes out to tell me that my tires are run flats. I kept telling him that they are not, that I specifically ordered my car with regular tires. The worker eventually removed the tire and saw the nail and told me that they only do plugs at that shop. No problem. The guy from the front counter comes out again and talks to the worker from a distance and he seemed upset with the worker as it appeared that he was trying to get them to sell me a tire instead of doing a repair on it. Fast forward a bit, the front counter guy ends up taking over the repair job, puts a plug in my tire, and ends up leaving the tire with a protruding plug sticking out (very long plug sticking out). I informed him if that's going to be a problem having that plug sticking out that much and he answered vaguely "no". I added and told him that the protruding plug should be cut a little bit so that it's not sticking out so much and once again he answered "no" without any explanation. I politely asked him that I would like to cut it a bit since it just looks nasty and bad the way it's sticking out of my tire. I even offered him to provide me with a razor and ill do it myself.Apparently the word nasty upset him that he yelled back at me very rude and unprofessionally while repeating my word "nasty" and decided to nod his head on his way to go get a razor to complete a 2 second job. As if I was asking too much as a paying customer. As he decided to cut the remaining protruding plug from the tire, he tries to lecture me that cutting the protruding plug can cause the tire to leak. I didn't want to argue with him and I let him do his job like he was suppose to. Lastly, he asked me what PSI I want on the tires so I went to my driver side door to read him what a regular mechanic should already know where to find the required PSI for a tire. Afterwards in a very rude tone, loud, and completely unprofessional, he orders me to go inside the shop to pay. I go inside and he yells "twenty bucks". Pulls out the car reader and yells "insert card". I put my card in and then yells "remove card". This guy needs to learn that his job is to offer a service to customers and the service being offered is not free. He is not doing me a favor and I'm paying for his service. At no time was I rude to any of the staff and he acts as if I asked for too much when I asked him if he can trim the protruding plug from the tire a little bit. Never again going to this place. DO NOT RECOMMEND IT TO ANYONE! The only good thing was that they were fast but the service was garbage especially from the unprofessional front desk staff member. read more

I was looking into buying a car from a private seller and Im so glad I took the time to have ocello's take a further look into the car, they were very upfront with the issues that the car has. as a means to make sure I knew what I was buying before making any decisions. Justin and Danny took time to go through everything that they saw, explaining why they thought things needed work and overall were very honest and helpful about distinguishing what needs work urgently and what could wait. They weren't trying to sell us anything, they were truthful about the car because they want the best for the customer. I have a hard time believing that the people giving them one star are more then people that just misjudged their detailed work as an attempt to up-sell the customer. read more
