Ok, so I needed a connection to my house for a generator I bought just in case of a power grid failure. Two other electricians were unable to do the job. Then I found Ochoa Electric. Eddy Ochoa came to the house and told me exactly what was needed. My experience with Ochoa Electric could have been better. I installed a smart doorbell with a video camera which made a buzzing sound when the it's doorbell was pressed and then eventually it wouldn't connect to my wifi. I called Ochoa Electric and agreed to the $225 cost to send a tech to troubleshoot as they were the only organization in the area that would send someone that same day. The tech arrived and did some troubleshooting and concluded the transformer to the doorbell was outputting 28v, too much voltage for the doorbell therefore causin the buzzing sound and that the doorbell was fried and the reason it won't connect to wifi. The tech suggested I buy a lower voltage transformer and either install it myself or call them back to have it installed. I go to home depot and tell a rep my situation and that I need a lower voltage transformer. The rep asks if I live in the newly developed homes and says that new homes are typically installed with transformers that can have their output adjusted by adjusting the wires connected to it. I go home and notice I have a transformer that can indeed have its voltage lowered. I adjust the wires to output 16v and now the smart doorbell works and makes an almost unnoticeable buzzing sound. I basically paid $225 to be told to buy a new transformer. For that amount, the tech should have made the wire changes, but nope. Thanks to the rep at home depot I saved a bit of money and time. I should have just called home depot to come help me out. read more

While they're not the cheapest when it comes to certain tasks, they are quite competitive when it comes to others. More importantly, they are very professional. They were available on short notice. Ochoa Electric did a great job fixing my minor electrical issues. They replaced my 30 year old fluorescent garage overhead light with a LED model, replaced burned out electrical outlet and replaced an outdoor outlet with a GFI safe covered outlet. The company was very friendly and professional from office to electrician. I was given text updates on status of my appointment window. I was given an estimate before job was performed. Electrician was very neat and left my home in perfect condition. There were no surprise charges. Cost was reasonable. I needed a level 2 EVSE home charging station to be installed for my Fiat 500e. I went with a JuiceBox Pro 40 and needed it placed inside the garage. Unfortunately our garage didn't have a 240v outlet (the house was old and some say they came with it because of electric dryers in the past). So I've made arrangements with Ochoa Electric to tackle this project. The power box was located at the opposite side of the garage, so they ended up installing a dedicated power line with 40amp breakers. They snaked the wires through the attic that routed to the garage. Conduits were used to protect the wires from outside elements and a NEMA 14-50 socket was used for the EVSE. The install was clean and they even fixed a few loose ends that the previous sloppy electrician left behind. Overall the team from Ochoa Electric did an excellent job. Eddie (Edward) with his two team members finished the job with great efficiency in a timely manner. Though not the cheapest, if you want the work done right the first time contact Eddie and his team, they will tackle all your electrical needs. read more
