I enjoyed my veggie burger. The Chipotle mayo on it is great! I recommend this burger! It's very homemade. Vegans note that there is some cheese in the burger itself. The service was great. The decor and space is really cool. Its an open, airy feel, with lots of natural light. The seating is all benches, so if one of your party needs or wants to lean back, there are a couple of tables against the wall. I'm a vegetarian, and love indulging in an occasional [veggie] burger and fries. These fries were good, but they tasted like they were cooked in some very meaty-tasting oil. I theorize that most customers of a brewpub are going to be meat eaters, and would not be concerned about this. But to the veg-heads out there, avoid the fries. Awesome beer and amazing cheese curds. If you are in the downtown area, I highly recommend stopping in here for a couple of beers. Only food I've had is the cheese curds but would 10/10 recommend those! Seemed to have a wide variety of beer, so everybody in our party could find something they liked. New spot opened in downtown Macon. First, the complaints that drop my review to three stars. Brewpub opened about 5 months after it was supposed to, going hand in hand with that fact is that out of the six in house brews only one (their stout) was available for consumption when we were there, about a week after they opened. All their beers will be available by January 2, 2017 and they have six rotating guest beers at all times too. The next reason I drop them to three stars is there is no table service, you want a beer, go to the one and only bar in the space with tap handles, want food, go to the order area in the back. This method of service is very disjointed and annoying as a customer. The last reason for only three stars is the fact there is only one tv in the entire place and it's at the second bar area (that has no taps) where all their beer stills are. Positives are the staff was friendly, the food is good (we had a grill cheese and fries) and the food is reasonably priced (grilled cheese and fries is only $4). We'll come back once they have all their beers available and if their beers are good I could easily see OBP getting bumped to four stars. read more

Try their pimento cheese or chicken salad sandwich. It's off the chain. Our first rime here and we came in expecting burgers and beer. They have that. But look at the whole menu. This was the best chicken salad I've had in a while. For downtown Macon its definitely worth a try. Mix and match, share the dishes. Thank you for a nice Saturday evening meal. I gave them 4 stars, but this place for me is just alright. It's definitely improved since it opened (started with watery beer and decent burgers). The ordering method is definitely the coolest in town, but the interior lights are not comfortable. They don't make you wanna hang out with friends and drink a lot of beer. They make you want to grab a quick burger like at 5 guys, grab a beer, eat, and leave. The truffle fries are a must get here. Other than that, I can't really remember anything that stands out. They continuously change their to go policy and have made it impossibly inconvenient to order from there. They are unable to give a real excuse as to why they no longer accept phone orders. After eating there in a weekly basis they will not be receiving any of my business going forward. read more

Visited for the first time last week. Came in on a weekday afternoon and there were a good many patrons already there. When we first walked in, we were a little confused as to how it worked. There was a Beer station to the right, and a Food station straight ahead at the back. An employee quickly saw our confusion and came to explain how everything works. We went to the Beer station; they have 6 of their own brews and 6 guest taps. We were a little disappointed that they only had 1 of their own brews available, a stout, but we were told more will be available the upcoming week. Next, we grabbed a table and checked out the menu. They have a good variety of food; something for everyone. They had burgers with turkey and veggie patty options which is pretty clutch. We split the grilled cheese, which was only $4. It came with fries and a sauce and we enjoyed it. We will definitely be coming back to check out their own brews once those are available. I moved away from Macon about a year ago but whenever I'm in town I frequent the local spots. This is now going to be one of the top on my list. I'm not a beer drinker but I loved the River Creature: a crab and lobster burger with their homemade pub sauce. The burgers come with a ton of hand cut fries and one of several dipping sauces. Went for lunch today and was really disappointed. Not a lot of choices so I figured they were good at what they did offer. I had a burger and my wife had a crab/lobster patty burger. What a great new addition to the downtown area! Our experience at OBP was excellent. The house beers were actually really good. We all got burgers which were excellent. It took a while to get our food (40 min) but the staff were great with giving us updates and ended up comping our burgers even though we all agreed that was not necessary. It was very busy tonight and we expected some "growing pains" for a new place but they handled it extremely well. We will definitely return! Our only recommendations at this point would be to add some more selections to the app menu (pretzels and beer cheese or maybe some other snacky items to keep us entertained while waiting for the main course). I would give more than 5 stars if possible! read more
