Jesse the owner is a great guy. He is building a great campground. We have stayed here a lot in the past few years.

Persimmon Creek campground is a peaceful and beautifully maintained place for families, groups, and solo travelers - with or without pets! There's bamboo fishing poles provided at no charge where you can fish in the central pond - and pull out a fish with virtually every cast! Then there's the stunning creek that borders the entire eastern side of the campground where you can swim or pan for gold - it's amazing! The showers and bathrooms are some of the best we have seen, and the full hookups were reliable. Lots are spacious and feature picnic table and fire ring, with plenty of room for your rig and gear. The best part about this campground is Tony and Karen, the owners. They'll provide you with exactly what you need, including friendly, meaningful conversation. We stayed at this campground for a month and it was always a pleasure interacting with these two. We wanted to stay longer and regret leaving but we're off to explore the rest of the country on our search to buy some land. But eventually we will return to Persimmon and trust that we will have an incredible experience, and if you stay there you can be confident of the same. What a place! Russ, Rachel & Stella Hudson

Unbelievable, could this KOA Chattanooga West be the most self-centered company? We scheduled our…read morecabin vacation months in advance only to find Hurricane Ian bearing down on us here in the Tampa Bay/Clearwater area. We have a small 3 lb. dog who the neighbor was going to watch for us on vacation but because of the storm he was unable to watch. We call KOA and asked if we could add a couple of extra days as we were needing to evacuate as Tampa/Clearwater was going to be a direct hit, they said YES! Asked due to the circumstances could we please bring our dog as we couldn't leave her. Even the Governor is saying don't leave your pets behind. Of course we wouldn't think of it. The person on the phone said. NO. It was against their policy. Because of this we would then need to cancel our reservation. Of course they would cancel but would keep our deposit. WHAT! I said we were not cancelling because we changed our mind, we are having to figure something out because we are having to flee due to the storm. She said that was their policy, no refund of deposit if the cancellation was less than a week. We called Tuesday and our arrival was Friday. Then she went on the say they have storms where there all the time and this is their policy...NO refund. Unbelievable, where is the human compassion? Must say it is not about the money, more about the structure of such an empathic policy. Maybe, I was stressed due to the storm and the unknown feeling of would we even have a home to come back to and my grown children located in Florida too. I was so angry, I found the phone number of Corporate KOA and called as I wanted them to know who truly represents them. The lady who answered was kind, understanding and expressed sympathy. She said she would contact the owner of the KOA Chattanooga West and hope that they would reconsider. She said and did all what you would expect giving this difficult situation. She made me feel like a person again that someone actually care about. Not only what we were going through but the logic to our request and the right thing to do. John called KOA Chattanooga West the next day to see if they would keep his deposit? YEP, they said it was their policy and the pending storm did not make difference and they sent him an email telling him there would be no refund. So if you ask me would I visit there, would I recommend?... The answer is NO as although I am sure it is a beautiful place there personal unkindness has certainly tainted my view. We are thankful that Hurricane Ian spared us in Tampa/Clearwater FL and pray for those who have lost their lives and homes in Ft. Myers. *Note... If you need to cancel please do so according to their policy because they don't give a @#$% about anything but the almighty dollar$. The owners of KOA Chattanooga West should be ashamed!

Very kid and dog friendly! The bathhouse is brand new, so lovely, and is the cleanest bathhouse I've ever been in at an RV park. The owners are some of the kindest people we've met in NC, super accommodating, ensured we liked our spot, and set up a picnic table and fire pit for us to use at the site. Truly the best Campground we've ever stayed at. I highly recommend staying here, whether for a night, a week, or for a long term!!!

We highly recommend the fried pickles at Chevelle's! Owners, Jon and Eileen are so welcoming and always available if needed. New bathroom/showers will be finished by Spring 2024. We will be back in Spring!
