While the dishwasher was inconvenient, the fridge was very frustrating best. I messaged and was asked to send a copy of the note and told they would follow up. Next thing we know, the fridge in unit 2 was not working. At this point it's not acceptable. I sent another message and got an automated response that they would be in touch. A rep stopped by the next day (we were not there and she left a message with our daughter in law) and said they knew about unit 1, but not unit 2. They offered no solution for only having 1 unit with a working fridge for 5 days. Value for this property was not great. With what they charge, they should have replaced the fridges immediately or offered a partial refund. Yet not even an apology for the situation. Locals all said that it is common for Casago and that they would not recommend them. We will not use them again. It's a shame, as the view is gorgeous. A few small upgrades to the units like replacing games and puzzles that are missing significant amounts of pieces as well as screens, windows, and doors should be in better working order. But overall, it was the customer service or lack of that made this a deal breaker. We should have read reviews before booking. This is the only negative review we have ever written.

I have had better service at a Motel 6 and did not pay over $1,000 per night. I wish I had researched this company prior to renting. The resort is Spanish-mission style on a former 280-acre cattle ranch, now a golf resort. Communications were very good. The resort contacted us before our scheduled arrival should be have any questions or special requests. They also assured us that the front desk would be open 24/7 after I expressed concerns that our flight was scheduled to arrive late evening. Check-in. The resort has good "curb appeal", with adobe "casitas" and the greenery of the surrounding golf course. I was surprised by the number of people who were still checking in around 10 pm on a Monday night, but the line moved quickly and the woman checking us in was both efficient and friendly. In addition to giving us our room keys, a resort map, the activities calendar, and our parking pass, she also gave me a package that had been sent for me. (Thanks to my daughter and family for the birthday present!). Unit. We were very pleased with our unit. It had everything that we needed for our 6-night stay -- a full kitchen with cookware, plates, cups, utensils, etc., towels, toiletries, comfortable bed and high-quality linens, a jacuzzi tub and separate shower, two televisions, and a washer/dryer in the unit. The unit was tastefully decorated in the colors of the southwest. It's not brand new, but it is well-maintained. We were impressed with the quality of the blackening curtains, which are probably a must-have in Phoenix summers. Parking was free, and available close to our unit every time we returned after activities in Phoenix. The resort was conveniently located near the PHX airport (5 miles) and for our day trips to downtown, the Desert Botanical Garden, Papago Park, the State Capitol, South Mountain Park and Preserve, Roosevelt Row, The Heard Museum, and more. It's also close to shopping and restaurants. We had only a few concerns about the resort. Of minimal impact to us given options in the city, but the "Resort Experiences" calendar (or "activities" was quite light for adults. Phoenix had rain for a few days of our vacation, so golf, tennis, shuffleboard were out on these days. It would've been nice to have some options for resort experiences during such times. We're also sorry that we hadn't checked in yet to partake in the Welcome Snacks @ Lobby on Saturday and Sunday afternoons. A second thing to note is that ALL of the cabinet drawers in the kitchen were already full with pots, pans, plates, cups, utensils, etc. Whike everything that we needed was there, it didn't leave any room for our non-perishable groceries. We left those on top of the island that separated the kitchen from the living area. Noise was also an issue. We were in Casita #7, which is the unit that is closest to 32nd Street. As light sleepers, we were awoken at times by early morning traffic. There was also a sweeper (or lawn mower?) on the golf course that started some mornings before 6 am. In addition, walls aren't fully insulated so we could hear neighbors in the units above and next to us. Our washer also made a racket. Overall, the positives far out-weighed the few inconveniences, and we would stay here again.

I think maybe air bnbs in Arizona should require AC? Idk if that's just me. She treated our group like we didn't know how to operate a very simple thermostat. So much that it took her hours of telling us how to use it, that it was too late for a technician to come. It was so hot, we had to be outside. We had 10 people. 1 was pregnant, and 4 more of us were not drinking. She tried to charge $1,000 for a noise complaint that was never made. Which she says that her neighbor took "multiple videos and photos" of our "house party" of girls in the pool with bikinis on! She never sent the actual video that we can listen to. Just a screenshot. But that pretty creepy of the neighbor to take videos of girls in the pool. So maybe don't use the pool if you stay at her house in phoenix. . Besides that, going back to the house being 86 DEGREES and her not caring or being apologetic at all. It was finally fixed 6:30 pm on Saturday, but it probably took until 8pm to cool from 86 degrees to 73. Not once were we rude to her. We could've been under these circumstances. Sorry your ego is fragile and you're unable to take constructive criticism. A woman of your age, I would expect a bit more professionalism and maturity. House is cute tho! Good job decorating! PS. We don't need your money. Your house with no ac just wasn't worth it. But thanks for the feedback. A budget in or hostel would've probably had better service and AC. This isn't "retaliation" for money. Just standing up for my friends and letting everyone know you're a pathological liar when we have every screen shot and video proof of everything.

We arrived in late April to a home in Phoenix Arizona that had no working AC. The issue was brought up to Ellie at around 6pm on a Friday. It wasn't until 6:30pm on SATURDAY that we got AC. She argued back and forth for the first two hours asking us the same question "Did you try adjusting the AC?" We spent 60% of our stay (yes, 60%) with no air conditioning. After asking for some sort of partial refund or even FANS, we were not given either. After spending close to $2000 for a two night stay, we requested a partial refund which was denied immediately. Ellie then starts to send VERY unprofessional messages to our group after we left an HOENST review. She lies to Airbnb stating that we were comfortable in the home and that it "wasn't that hot" Try setting your house to 86° in the middle of the day in Arizona and tell me how comfortable you are Ellie. She then writes a review stating that we had a "large shouting party after hours". She was aware this was a bachelorette party, we were all inside by 9:45pm (Quiet hours is 10pm) and we didn't even fill the max occupancy of the home. After we requested a refund, Ellie decides to request $1000 in damages for being noisy BEFORE QUIET HOURS and lies and states it was after hours. I'm sorry but paying for a home we couldn't use for 60% of our stay Is not okay. I hope you learn some hospitality and customer service skills or this business isn't going to make it very far.

There is a sweet spot that very few vacation homes hit for me. I want to walk into a place and feel like I'm not invading on someone's primary residence (with their clothes hanging in the closet, etc.) but also want more than a sterile place that feels more like a Residence Inn. The Wilshire House nails it. You have EVERYTHING you would ever need in a home, and it feels like your own place the minute you walk in. The home is beautifully appointed, completely renovated (although the historic feel has been preserved), and is comfortable whether you are traveling solo or with a large family. You also can't beat the location - a beautiful historic neighborhood within easy walking distance of great restaurants and all that central Phoenix has to offer. Stanley and Nicole are the perfect hosts. They are responsive, available as needed and incredibly gracious. I'm not easy on grades, so I hope my A+++ rating means something.

The booking is for November 2017 (next week). About a month after booking Bruce emails and asks me if i can take another home called the "City Lights" home - he states it is an upgrade and he will do it for free. I tell him "no I need an 8 bedroom house." Then 3 days ago (we are scheduled to leave for our trip, 14 adults, next week); I email Bruce because his "company" called RENTAL GUEST sends me a new rental contract to sign for the "City Lights" property. I then ask Bruce why I am receiving this new rental contract since I already booked the Delcoa home and told him the 6 bedroom City Lights property would not work for us. Bruce then tells me it is an upgrade and that Home Away is 'forcing owners out of business." He gives me this long bullshit story. Also, he tells me he cannot accept my Damage Deposit by credit card and needs me to wire $800 to his bank account. I tell him I have never had to pay a damage deposit other than through Home Away and I refuse to wire him money. I also tell him the "City Lights" house is NOT going to work for us and I want a refund. Bruce calls back and offers me pool heating for free, then a $500 discount, then $1000 discount, then $2,000 discount. I tell Bruce even free, the house doesn't work for us and I no longer trust him. He tells me he will process a refund. It is now 3 days later and he is refusing to process a refund. He keeps arguing that one of my messages gave him approval of the change, but there is no rental agreement signed and there are NUMEROUS messages indicating that the "City Lights" house won't work for me. He is a SCAMMER. BEWARE OF ANYONE NAMED BRUCE TRYING TO RENT VACATION PROPERTIES IN ARIZONA. HE WILL PULL A BAIT AND SWITCH AND TRY TO GET YOU TO ACCEPT A PROPERTY THAT YOU NEVER SIGNED UP TO RENT. HE WILL TRY TO GET YOU TO SIGN A RENTAL AGREEMENT OR HE WILL TWIST YOUR WORDS INTO PERCEIVED ACCEPTANCE OF THE CHANGE. HE WILL ALSO TRY TO GET YOU TO WIRE FUNDS FOR A DAMAGE DEPOSIT. I started planning my visit one year in advance for 20+ family members. I tried to be a considerate and patient guest when attempting to communicate with my host, especially since it was so far in advance. I understood she probably was busy handling current affairs. As you read, I included specific time period details to fully appreciate the wait times. Using the VRBO site to contact my host, responses to my questions were either delayed extensively or non-existent. For example, I asked 3 questions over a 6 month period - 2 were the same - without any response. One question I started to ask for information on was a floor plan/layout of the home so we could break out the rooms conveniently for the different families attending (especially those with children). After the 6 month wait for a response, all I received was a one liner that she didn't have a floor plan of the property. Still no response to the other question, which was inquiring about a chef for breakfasts to be prepared (since the VRBO listing indicated that breakfast is available) - now for the 3rd time. I finally received a referral for a chef 9 months after I initially asked. When I was told there was no floor plan, I asked for either a) some kind of hand drawn layout to get a feel, b) my family member that lives nearby the property to be granted the opportunity to do a quick walk-through and get a video or c) that I be allowed to do a quick walk through sometime over a 2 day period I'd be in town. Those questions were asked over a 6 week period before finally receiving a response, which was only to option (c). She offered to have one of her team do a walk-through video for me. Jump ahead to another 5 weeks when I follow up again on the video. This time I included a question about my final payment. Surprisingly, I got a same day response about the payment. Then, I asked again about the video. I was told she would remind her inspector to get the video the next time he was on property. Skip ahead another 5 weeks and I follow up because I'm now within 60 of my trip. No response. I wait 2 more weeks for a response before following up. At that time, I'm told that videos have been taken and she's trying to find out where they are stored from her inspector. No other communication received for another 2 weeks before I follow up yet again - now within 4 weeks of arrival time. I received a response that while the videos had been taken, they were taken on an old phone that is no longer used. She stated that they would be taken again the next day and sent to me. Skip ahead a week with no communication and I follow up. Nothing. Skip ahead another week and I follow up again, now within 2 weeks of arrival. Three days later I received a response that the videos had been emailed to me. For anybody keeping track, that was 6 months of delays to get this one request addressed - including my offers for either me or my family member doing it ourselves. One week before check in, I sent a few other miscellaneous questions. Five days later, after no response received and 2 days before arrival, I followed up. She replied she's been out of the office and will look into my questions and get back to me, which didn't happen. After I checked in, I sent her the answers to my final questions. Some of the negatives included: a) The pool and hot tub lights didn't ever come on - especially after dark. The first night I was told the timer had apparently not worked and it was fixed now. They didn't work on the 2d night or thereafter. I never received a response to my follow up text during the rest of the trip. b) Hot tub never got any warmer than the pool. c) Door handle inside the garage entrance to Casita came off in my hand when we arrived. They did send somebody out to look at it but we had already temporarily fixed it. d) The glass of a light over the gas fed table fireplace was shattered. e) There is a basketball rim set up behind the casita, however it's placed right at the wall that surrounds the property. Any shot missed is likely to go over the wall, forcing you to go outside the property to retrieve it. Along those lines, there were 2 basketballs but they were both flat. f) There were a significant number of tiles, particularly outside, that were cracked. This is somewhat understandable given it's definitely an older property. The home itself is a beautiful property, as you can see from the pictures on line. My family very much enjoyed our stay. The positives included: a) Paper goods requested were taken care of quickly. b) Ample refrigerator, freezer, cookware, glassware and silver. c) Rooms were all spacious, comfortable and beautiful. d) Near to shopping and parks.
