The eye exams are very thorough , in comparison to the standardized "one or two" examination process. They use the latest technology to determine any differences in focal vision. Their contact eye exams are also very comprehensive and they walk you through each step in its entirety. They usually recommend dilation but I would say to skip it unless it's really necessary. I have been coming here for years and prefer this office to the Tempe Costco location! The staff will not hesitate to reach out to the optical department if need be. I had a unique contact lens prescription that required a special manufacturer, and was on back order for 4 months. However, the staff was always very kind about the issue and offered trial Contact lenses to hold me over. In fact, it actually worked out better this way! The gentleman at the front is a true hospitality aficionado. Every time I come in, he recognizes me by name and offers support. That's what I'm talking about! :) Thank you Dr. Lou and Team!

They run pretty efficiently (from our family visits) and for my annual eye exam, I was done in about 30 mins. Dilation can still be done but with my busy schedule, I opt for the Optomap imaging and pay a bit more (~$25) as getting dilated & dealing with it all day is no longer doable. We needed to get some prescription sports sunglasses for the runner in the family. They carried a few of the Prescription Oakley of interest so it was good to go in and physically try them on (unlike online). To be clear, they were not cheap, but we reviewed all the options (tint color, reflection, etc...) and I have to admit, they look pretty sweet!!

Perhaps I expected them to be franchised and soulless, without any real people or knowledge beyond their slick marketing pieces. Sort of like politicians. It is occasionally nice to find that reality does not match your expectations, and BDP is one of those places. Everybody there was genuinely nice, and I had to do a lot of different tests with more than a few specialists. All of them took the time to explain what they were doing and the results. The docs assistants (who lets face it do most of the work, and are the unsung hero's) were all great as well and deserve a huge thumbs up as well.

Durning my stay away from home I saw a comercial on TV about EYE MITES I was horrified to learn about such a problem ! My Husband went on AI to see how that could happen well its from having too many eye drops at the Eye Doctors ! there happens to be eye mites in everyones eyes but too many EyeDrops cause them to activate !!!! Why do the EYE DOCTORS not inform you of this possible problem !!!! I am now trying to reach a Doctor and get a Presciption to kill them totally . But, I truly needed a functional backup pair and started hunting around. I knew I'd be paying more for this pair since I've graduated now to progressive lenses. I didn't want to go back to Walmart or Costco or Target, because those glasses still cost a pretty penny and have never been a great fit. The last pair I got from Walmart a couple of years ago, no change in prescription, makes me woozy. Eyemagination had such great reviews here, I decided to check it out. And the instant I walked through the door, I was filled with confidence that this was the place. I was welcomed by Maureen and Stephen right away. After introductions and a nice chat, Eyemagination started to feel like an old-fashioned salon or barbershop, where you've been coming for years and it feels like family. I didn't realize what goes into a proper glasses fitting because, I guess I've never had one! You get your face measured. You get your dominant eye checked, spacing, all angles and nose bridge noted. They have gadgets. It's the closest thing you'll find to choosing the right wand from Ollivanders. I'm pretty sure my glasses chose me. The technicians are part artist, part clinician, part engineer and part designer. I was helped by Maureen, the lovely, twinkly-eyed, warm shop owner. Stephen also joined in, and was sharp, attentive, caring and impressive. The two make an excellent team and they found me a frame I would actually enjoy wearing. When I returned a week or so later to pick up the glasses and get a final fitting, both Maureen and another lovely lady whose name I am forgetting helped adjust things perfectly. Maureen really wants the glasses to fit and feel comfortable and watches you like a hawk to make sure you are truly happy with your selection. My prescription was challenging but she nailed it. My mom's sunglasses look fantastic and I'm sure her regular glasses will too when they're ready. The frame selection was super, even for the lower-priced options. Skip the zoo at Costco, Walmart or Target and swing over to this local business that has been knocking it out of the park for several decades. They are so warm and welcoming, you'll walk away wishing you needed a pair every year just to visit for the company and lovely conversation. He made me feel comfortable throughout the entire exam and took the time to answer all of my questions. I truly appreciated his care and would highly recommend him. Unfortunately, the experience at the front desk did not match the level of service provided by the doctor. The two customer service representatives were not welcoming or friendly, and they came across as unhelpful and dismissive. Especially the man, but the lady did not intervene at all to rectify the awful customer service being received. Nor, did she give off a nice or welcoming demeanor as well. It made what should have been a positive visit feel uncomfortable and unpleasant. I hope management takes this feedback seriously, because Dr. Diaz is excellent--but the front office experience needs significant improvement.
