We accidentally came to this location instead of BioLife Plasma Services and decided to stay--but that was a mistake. The staff member who handled us was rude from the very beginning. Both my husband and I were treated with a lack of respect and patience. For a place that operates in a healthcare-related setting, the level of professionalism and compassion was extremely disappointing. No one should feel uncomfortable or disrespected when they are literally there to donate. As we were leaving, multiple regular donors told us this is a common issue here and recommended BioLife Plasma Services instead due to their better staff and overall experience. For the most part the employees are nice. But the speed of getting people in and out the is terrible! Too often there are not enough people on the floor and the ones here are over worked! Either hire some people that want to work or pay these people more. Too many times I hear multiple employees have called out and not coming in. read more

It's not that bad just a little hood everyone rating it one star and saying it's unprofessional ain't ever been to a damn plasma place all of these places are a little hoodish that's the charm. Have been a plasma donor for sometime elsewhere with no issues, but came to Octapharma after a friend said it was better. Far from it! New donor process took over three hours. Came back for my second donation, which was never discussed how that process would go. Had to go back for a second "physical". Then I go to donate, and they tell me my veins are too small. Don't forget I've done this for a long time prior and never had an issue. They went ahead and attempted to stick my right arm with someone with a little more experience. She played around with it for sometime trying to get it to the right position then finally told me to lay my arm out flat, and that would do the trick. After my first cycle, which took forever, I should've realized there was an issue. On the return, my arm blew up with a huge hematoma. Took some time before someone came over. I had to get their attention. My stick site was about the size of a small bouncy ball. They quickly came over apologized and disconnected me. Said they were gonna continue on my left arm. They took one look at it and said it was bruised. My veins show clearly through my arm. What they were looking at was my veins. She even told me that they could see a line from one point to another. Yes, that line is a vein! So they told me I couldn't donate today and because they couldn't return my blood had to defer me for a few months. Ridiculous. I will not be going back. Never had an issue with the other donation center with my veins, getting bruising, and definitely not a hematoma! read more

Worst plasma center I have ever been too. New donor process was stated to be approximately 2 hours. 5 hours later and I still am not even to the donor floor. Not once have I been explained by a staff member the process of donating. Every person that works here seems to be tweaking on meth. I even had to ask the nurse if the manager was high on meth because of how she was acting. Eventually decided to walk out after waiting 5 hours and being neglected by staff. As a nurse myself I have absolutely no idea how any of these people still have jobs in the medical field. Would have given zero stars if I could. read more

I will say after my first visit I do not wanna go there again but being I'm a new donor they pay more at this point. My first visit I explained I have never donated before and they did not tell me I needed to be pretty still because of this I had a horrible bruise for 2 weeks and the girl who had to change my Iv from one arm to the other gave me mad attitude. I told her maybe you should tell first time donors this when you stick them. After my first 5 or 6 visits are done I will be done with this place especially since I'm smaller I wouldn't get paid shit for donating since I'm teeny. My advice given else where. read more

Terrible staff. Terrible organization. I tried to donate today (as a new donor), but they said they aren't taking anymore new donors today. I've been a new donor before and I now for a fact that I would be fished before they close (7pm). They also don't pay as much as CSL if you weigh less than 150 lbs. read more

Do not donate plasma here. I called previously to driving all the way to this location from Lansing Ks to be sure I can donate. I arrived at the location and checked in at the first time doner desk. The woman looked over my ID and other information required to donate, then proceeded to have me watch the educational videos. She checked my veins and everything else necessary to donate. After waiting 30 minutes I'm told that I'm out of their "donor location area". The staff is very unprofessional and obviously they have no idea what they are doing. If you want to donate plasma I suggest bpl. They are much more intelligent and professional. While I am being paid for my donation, it still takes time out of my day and gas to get to the location, I don't mind donating as it helps burn victims among other things. As of why I wasn't told to begin with that I'm out of their "donor location area" baffles me. It took them almost an hour to figure that out. I've tried to call and speak to a manager but their phones seem to be having issues. It rings and goes to a busy signal. I'm extremely unsatisfied with my experience and will not be recommending octapharma to anyone. read more

The place is AWFUL! They can never come to a descison for whatever or not I am eligible. Now I have to wait, AGAIN for their incompetence!

This place is terrible. I would not bother with your time of trying to be a new donor. They kept telling me from 9:30am (2 1/2 hrs after they opened) that they weren't taking new donors at that time. Come back in 1-1 1/2 hrs. So I come in an hr. Told the same thing but that I could call in instead of going inside (which is a waste of time to have to be turned away!) so I said I'll just sit in my car in the parking lot and wait. I called in 15 min to see. And was told they don't give that info out over the phone (whyyy??! What private personal information would be given out over the phone to save somebody their time and. It wasting their day?!) so I tell them I was in my car in the parking lot so I would be able to walk right in if they were accepting new donors. She says hold on and comes back minuteS later. Says no! Ugh. I wait another 15. Call, and this time, I'm told that they don't give out that info over the phone. I explain about my last call and the woman who role me I could just call in. She says, "well they gave you wrong information, we can't do that. You have to come in." Ridiculous. So the next and possibly last time, I went in. They were finally taking people. Gave all my info, and now this was my fault..I forgot about this, but my ID was expired. It expired the DAY before!!! So it was a no go. I went to renew it since I would need it anyway. Came back, and guess what?! THEY WEREN'T EXCEPTING NEW DONORS ANYMORE!! Go figure! And why the heck would not give the new donors an appt time so their time isn't wasted?! I wasted FOUR freaking hours just trying to become a donor there. Screw them. Don't waste your time! They're ridiculous and the one lady up front was kind of rude. They kept telling me, "come at 7am, that's really the best time." Well news flash, that doesn't work for everyone. I mean seriously, something is flawed if you have to have people come in at 7am to get a spot. AND they wouldn't even allow me to wait inside anywhere. "We don't have a waiting area." That's what they told me! Well, get one! Also, this was my THIRD time trying too!! Just the first time that I tried more than once in one day and went as early as I could! This isn't my first time donating either. I have donated off and on for years, and I have NEVER been turned away as a new donor. Terrible service and their whole process needs revamped.
