Chris was such a pleasure to work with and amazing at his job. He has a fine tuned eye for detail, but he's also very experienced in HVAC, energy efficiency, and all things construction so he was able to find all the areas where our new construction home builder fell short. He was also able to explain in laymen's terms (for me, not experienced in construction) why some of the things the builder did really didn't make sense. He provided a detail report afterwards with pictures and an explanation which we will now be dealing with the builder to address. Chris is amazing. During my last home purchase, I had the pleasure of working with him for 3 inspections. His attention to detail is absolutely uncanny. One of the inspections ended up resulting in us backing out of the offer due to many of the issues that he found and easily saved us hundreds of thousands of dollars if we had not hired him for the inspection. Not only does he find the flaws, but he also calls out things that are done exceptionally well and won't be a worry. The reports are incredibly easy to read. Some home inspectors I find require you decipher the reports, but Chris' are so well put together and easily color coded that there's basically no ambiguity. Inspector arrived on time and had with him an assistant they both were very professional and were prepared to take on the inspection of my home. I didn't know what to expect but they were very thorough and very detailed. They worked their way from bottom to top and we're very detailed. They were done in a very timely manner and was exact on the amount of time it would take to do the home inspection. I was very impressed by the trainer on time for the total inspection report and it was very detailed down to a video of some of the stuff that they inspected and had photos that were very detailed or things that were noticed. Chris and Andrew did an excellent job checking out the house. Chris uploads the video of the sewer line scope to YouTube for your viewing pleasure. He also did a very thorough inspection of the entire house, found many surprises, and gave suggestions for solving said surprises. Everything is categorized as critical or not, with details about what could happen if the problem is not corrected. Being a Hvac technician, I see plenty of home inspections, and they are not always this detailed. Great job, will hire again and refer to all my friends and family. read more

Our house is an older home and it was so nice to have someone take the time and attention to give us a very thorough walk through even explaining what years different additions were made to the house. Chris of Octopus Home Inspection did a remarkably fastidious job inspecting my new home. Although the home was brand new, there were still many details that were unfinished and Chris picked up on each and every one of them - creating a repair list that was nearly three pages long!
