I got the roasted shishito peppers as a light snack and they came with a creamy dipping sauce. The staff were chill and helpful. The ambiance is one of my favorites because It's very calm and chill and people are working or just hanging out. They have indoor and outdoor seating. We wanted to sit outside but it was busy so we opted for a high table indoors. Overall I enjoyed my coffee and food and will definitely be back!

The employees/baristas and customers were so friendly here! I'm from San Diego and was visiting Santa Fe for a week with my family. I tried to sample many of the coffee shops in town and this one stood out for its friendly service and warm atmosphere, plus quality coffee. I ordered the horchata latte and it was delicious! However, it didn't seem very strong coffee-wise (I believe my latte had two shots of espresso?), so I had to come back like an hour later to get a second one to satisfy my caffeine needs. The breakfast/brunch options looked amazing and were reasonably priced, but during our stay we did not end up eating here...we simply ran out of time! The space is within a shared work building right off the street, walkable from where we were staying and close enough to walk to the Plaza. I enjoyed walking here on a few mornings and getting the feel of what it might be like to be a local in town, while scanning the many clothing and other types of shops along the way. Overall I'd recommend this coffee shop for friendly vibes and yummy coffee drinks...but next time I'd add an extra shot to my latte.

The atmosphere is warm, cozy, and welcoming, with two private outdoor patio areas and ample indoor seating. As a locally owned business, it has a wonderful character you just don't find at chain coffee shops. They also offer a great selection of gluten-free treats, but the coffee is the star of the show. If you're visiting Santa Fe and love great coffee, The Wolf and Mermaid is definitely worth a stop!

The lattes we ordered could've been hotter, though. The shop served breakfast burritos and many others were ordering these to enjoy there or to-go. There is a nice, spacious patio outside on the side of the shop as well as a patio outside in back, so plenty of seating in addition to places to sit inside the cafe. My father-in-law also went here a few times while we were in town, and he said there was only one barista working each time; this was the case when we were there as well. They could definitely use another barista or two to handle the busy morning crowd. The interior of the cafe had a big roasting machine and some art and merch to look at while we waited. They also have a small pop-up location inside the Santa Fe airport, and though I did not order coffee there, I grabbed one of the green chile and cheese croissants they are known for, and it was delicious. A pretty solid place to get a good coffee drink and a pastry or breakfast burrito, but I would suggest asking for your latte to be made extra hot if you like to sip on it awhile or just expect it to be served hot, not warm.

This place definitely falls into the first category. This morning I went with the single origin Guatemala drip, and it was exactly what a solid cup of coffee should be. Smooth, rich, and balanced with a nice chocolate note that hangs around just long enough to make you take another sip. No bitterness. No burnt taste. Just a clean, well-roasted cup that says someone here actually cares about the beans. The shop itself has a personality, which I always appreciate. It's decorated with fishing lures, fish artwork, and sculptures scattered around the place. Naturally this leads to the obvious conclusion: the owner is either an avid fisherman... or coffee roasting is just the side hustle between trout expeditions. Either way, the theme works. The space feels relaxed, creative, and comfortable. The kind of place where you can sit with a cup and not feel rushed out the door. And speaking of doors, while I was there there was a steady flow of customers coming in and out. That's usually the universal coffee signal for yep, this place is doing something right. Bottom line: Great coffee, cool atmosphere, and a shop with enough character to keep things interesting. I'll definitely be back for another cup of that Guatemala.

There is ample seating both inside and outside, had I not had my toddler with me I would have loved to sit out front but it is right by the road so a no go with a rambunctious little boy... There is additional outside seating to the side and farther from the road too. I look forward to my next trip.
