Came in for an oatmilk vanilla latte and it was ready in less than 5 minutes. The coffee was bold, smooth, and slightly nutty. I didn't expect it to be ready so quickly so I drank with suspicion LOL. Needed a place to camp and get some work done while my car was in the shop and this place worked well. I got a rose cardamom latte and a quiche. I didn't taste much rose or cardamom, but it was a good latte regardless. The bacon & green chile quiche seemed to be missing the bacon, but as just a green chile quiche, it was good. As a space to work, it's quite peaceful. I was wearing headphones, but between tracks, I could tell the music they were playing was a jam. The chairs are kinda uncomfy though. Went here to get a matcha before heading to do some exploring in the city. The parking lot is small and tight but I was able to get a spot when I got there. Otherwise, you can just park on the street. The barista working was really nice. I also ordered a croissant to go with my matcha like I always do because that is one of my favorite lil cafe treats. I liked the matcha I got. It was nothing special but it wasn't bad at all. I did forget to add honey as my sweetener so that was on me. The coffee shop was really cute though. I like the sorta rustic feel inside. Lots of different seating areas. Glad I came to visit while I was in town. Will definitely visit again when back in Santa Fe, just because the vibes were really nice and calm here. read more

Love the space inside! "Hidden" in an industrial area of Santa Fe, it doesn't look like much from the outside, but it's bright, open & airy inside. Lots of space to distance & hang & work! The only downside for me, is that they don't allow dogs... even though it's a large space & they have a concrete floor. (?) They have a tiny patio in the front if you want to enjoy the Santa Fe PERFECT weather. :) Coffee was good & they have lots of tasty treats to try! read more

Long story short, I took a wrong turn while headed to a completely different place that didn't pertain to coffee whatsoever and ended up down the street the this shop sits on and said, "why yes...I actually do need some coffee." So it all worked out lol. And Java Joe's is such a good vibe too! The space is really open and has lots of seating. Solid 4.  Very good coffee.  The atmosphere is just what you want in a relaxing coffee shop.  The staff was very friendly.  I had my usual cortado, and it was very good. The beans are roasted, in house, on a fluid bed roaster.  I'm not a big fan of fluid bed roasting, personally.  Some people swear by it, so it's a personal difference.  I find that I can taste a little caramelization sweetness, a little layer of flavor from drum roasting.  Fluid bed roasts taste a little flat to me. All of my favorite beans have been drum roasted.  I roast for myself, and I use a drum.   Around NM, I have been noticing that there is not a lot of care around the preparation of the portafilter.   Here at Java Joes, they give it the care they should.  Rather than a quick polish to the grounds, it was a good firm tamp.  I bring this up, simply because I haven't seen much real tamping around here.  Yes, I'm a coffee geek. Made a quick pit stop here for my caffeine fix. I'd place Java Joe's as a solid daily drink in regards to coffee shops, and what I mean is that it's not bougie craft coffee that'll break the bank. It's a solid value that is better than the other chain you and all your friends go to, and that's a good thing. Their bags of coffee are around $11 for reference. The shop is spacious with plenty of seating, and the music isn't too loud which is key for working. I definitely wouldn't mind studying here if I needed to. The baristas were friendly and welcoming early in the morning even when customers sometimes aren't lol. I had them fill my own thermos and got a bit more than I expected, which I appreciated. They do have some interesting drink options like a Mexican latte and others, which I might try if I were staying in for a while. But for my money, the good service and decent drip is what I need. read more

The coffee is alright but the lady working on the register was not friendly which is fine (everyone has those days). My problem is the upcharge! I ordered two oatmilk lattes and my total was $17 something!! $8 plus for a cup of oatmilk latte!!! This is the most expensive cup of latte in my entire life! It turned out the oatmilk is an additional $3.65 (before tax) which they didn't put in the main menu board (I later found it in a piece of paper they put somewhere in the merchandise shelves). I know I should've probably asked how much the oatmilk was since it wasn't on the board but who would expect $3.65 upcharge?!? (any coffee shops in US typically only charge $1, sometimes even less). Java Joe's has been a coffee staple in Santa Fe for years! I remember years ago going to their little spot at the Rodeo Plaza Shopping Center, next to the market that used to be there. Now, over 20 years later, they're still going strong with two locations. And, as always, a great cup of coffee! But beside coffees and teas, they have breakfast items, and sweets as well! I love visiting and just sitting there with my cappuccino and enjoying the casual atmosphere. And, the Siler Road location has plenty of seating! I really enjoyed the coffee that I purchased at Java Joe's the service was quick and everyone was very friendly they do offer free Wi-Fi but I never found the what the password was. I also got a green chili cheese croissant and it was delicious I was expecting a little bit more in terms of food from this place as I didn't eat prior to coming here and this was my breakfast. The croissant was one of the heaviest things that they offered I was really hoping for a simple breakfast burrito. I'll know that for next time I definitely just make this a coffee stop and not something to rely for a full breakfast. read more

The reviews were right! This is a great place to get work done on the laptop with a great unfussy latte. I like the industrial feel which is fitting for its location near some great breweries.
