Stopped by after picking up my son from school. Place was fairly empty except for about 3 students who had ordered before us and got their drinks shortly after we walked in, and some others that came in after us. I ordered the Thai Twister and my son ordered the Unicorn Cotton Candy. We waited around 15 minutes for our drinks, felt like a long wait despite not a lot of people being around. The unicorn drink was overly sweet in my opinion, but I'm not big into cotton candy flavored things. It also had a cheesecake type of flavor to it. The Thai twister was really delicious. Initially, all I tasted was the Thai tea, but after mixing it, I tasted the other flavors. I overhead a conversation between some customers wanting to order up at the counter and an employee that might be helpful to those who use the reward points system. The customers paid cash and wanted to have their points added to their rewards account. Apparently, this can't be done if you pay cash. You have to order through the tablet screen by the door and pay with card to get your rewards account points. Overall, I enjoyed the Thai twister and would come back. My sis and I were excited to try a new boba spot in town! This boba spot is located in Thai Lotus. There's a waiting area for the drinks but it looks like the rest of the seating is for dining in at the restaurant. Once you walk into Thai Lotus the boba stand is straight ahead. They have tv displays with their drink specials and their menu in the front. We were helped right away and the cashier was very welcoming. Upon entering the restaurant, there is a large display where you can order drinks to go or you can order during your lunch in their dining room. I am slowly making my way through the Oddcha menu and have yet to be disappointed. Lots of fun flavors to choose from, including matcha cheese and salted cheese toppers. Got the Twilight Taro drink and asked for it with less sugar and substituted with oat milk instead of regular milk. After stirring it up a bit and scraping the taro paste off the sides of the cup this drink was really yummy. Definitely must scrape and stir this one otherwise all you get is the plain milk and a bunch of boba balls from the bottom. I was excited to see another boba chain coming to Reno and rushed to check this one out! The shop is located inside Thai Lotus- and took over the host stand and take-out window they had prior. It is a bit of a tight squeeze considering it doubles as the restaurant check in as well, but they accounted for that by adding benches and additional seating to the side. My partner and I ordered 3 drinks to share- although one of the drinks we received was incorrect. A simple mistake- we ordered a wintermelon milk tea and received a plain wintermelon tea instead. We did not ask for a remake since the wait time for our drinks was a little over 10 minutes. As for the matcha with ube, I was pleasantly surprised! I was worried it would be too sweet and wanted to try it without any alterations- so I ordered a Thai tea as a backup just in case. (which wasn't needed because the level of sweetness was actually good) The cups/lids were thick and sturdy. I especially love the straw detail added to the lid where you are able to open and close the straw hole to either save for later or transport. One con that we encountered was operation times. The restaurant closes for an hour midday to give their workers a break. (As they should! Love that they prioritize a break for their employees) I just personally forgot about that detail and went off the hours for Oddcha online before I knew it was connected to the restaurant- so when we arrived they were actually closed. Overall, the drinks at default are not overly sweet and the boba was soft and chewy. Will definitely return! A new place deserving some local love. Here's what you need to know before you go. It's not a stand alone establishment like Num Num or 12Tea. It's located inside the Thai Lotus restaurant. Basically a boba, milk tea, fruit tea business inside a business. The Pros - the drinks are unique in comparison to other standard boba fare in Reno with fun flavors such as mango sticky rice smoothie, Thai twister, Coco Bomb, twilight taro, unicorn cotton candy with cotton candy topper, and Oreo brûlée milk tea. A Fun menu! The drinks are tasty and served in fun cups. A little pricier with add ins such as salted cheese cream, brûlée and strawberry cream and lychee and boba, but worth it (an extra $1.50) All in all, delicious options and drinks that the whole family will love. The service was similar to the service I've received there at the restaurant, very friendly with smiles and always nice. Now, The Cons - because of its location inside a restaurant, there's a chance it could be crowded with a line as the use of space is not optimized. Not many places to sit and wait. It falls short on the ambience of a true milk tea and boba shop because it's located inside another business. And there's no seating to hang out, drink your drink and talk, unless you're going to eat at the restaurant. So expect to buy a drink for on-the-go. Otherwise, it's a new experience with friendly staff and new drink concepts that remind me of the type of drinks offered in some of the San Francisco milk tea shops that I enjoy. This is my fav Boba place. The Brown Sugar Milk Tea with half the sugar is a delightful classic. I've also tried the Oreo Brulee Milk Tea and the Mango Tango, which would have been better with less sugar. Ambiance is good in Thai Lotus Restaurant, with a separate area to sit and wait for drinks. We got their two of their matcha drinks for our first time and wow it's so refreshing to see a place use high quality matcha that you can taste.
