We got a ube and matcha ice cream with red bean paste- it was so delicious! It was a perfect end to a hot day in the city. It was the perfect amount to share without feeling like you are over eating. Service was nice and quick! It was cute and clean inside and I felt like like it was reasonably priced. We would definitely visit here again.

What a fun experience! The shop is quite small, so expect a wait to get inside. The line moves fairly quickly though.

Straight From Japan (I believe this is the name).

Went on two different days, one was a Saturday around 8PM and the other was a Friday around 5PM. Both days were pretty busy but the Friday was slightly more crowded. The staff were very nice and very quick with making the taiyaki. The red bean taiyaki was very fresh and very hot, it wasn't too sweet, but not tasteless either which is perfect for me. The flavors of the ice cream is good too. I'm especially in love with the hojicha, the flavor is strong enough to taste. The space inside is pretty small but there is some seating available, no tables though. I would definitely recommend trying the taiyaki ice cream as wrll as the regular taiyaki.

Souffle pancakes are so fluffy and yummy. I got the classic. Comes in a take out box. Takes a while to make...we went on Saturday close to opening time so only a few people already in the place-- can't imagine how long it would take to make if it was a long line. Don't really need the butter or syrup that comes on the side. Whip cream and taiyaki fish is a nice touch. There is not really official seating but some seating available.

Went to get the Knicks Buy1get1free soft serve and is pretty good vanilla soft serve with sprinkles.. soft n creamy soft serve.. will come back try the ube matcha flavor

Taiyaki never misses. Recently stopped by for some yuzu matcha swirl with mochi and cotton candy sprinkles and it was perfect. Ube taiyaki was also good, but it was served SCALDING hot - I'm happy it was made fresh (15 min wait) but watch out for that.

Dropped by to taste the new items. Was busy on the day I visited. Service was great. Check out the picture! Hit the spot!

Service was great and very fast; the soft serve itself is delicious. Unfortunately very limited seating, which means you have to eat standing on the sidewalk or as you're walking.

Taiyaki is pure happiness in dessert form! From the moment you see those adorable fish-shaped cones, you know you're in for something special. The soft serve is creamy, rich, and perfectly balanced, and the taiyaki waffle cone? Soft on the inside, crispy on the edges, and just the right amount of sweetness. I went with the classic matcha and vanilla swirl with red bean filling, and it was chef's kiss. Not only does it taste amazing, but it's also super Instagram-worthy--because let's be honest, if you didn't take a picture of your taiyaki, did you even go? The staff was friendly, the shop was cute, and the whole experience was just fun from start to finish. If you're craving a unique dessert that's as fun to eat as it is to look at, Taiyaki is a must. Can't wait to go back and try more flavors!

Ice cream was a bit on the pricier side for soft serve, but you come here for the experience and not your day to day soft serve. The cone itself is tasty, and the shape is fun. They load it up with ice cream - fast and friendly

First time trying taiyaki! It reminded me of a Belgian waffle for breakfast with ice cream on top. While the cone wasn't for me, (growing up on waffle cones has made me prefer crunchy over soft and chewy ice cream cones) the soft fish waffle was fresh and the strawberry mango soft serve was great. I was originally concerned that the filling in the bottom took up most of the cone, but the employee explained that the filling is just a small amount in the bottom. I can't say how this place compares with other Taiyaki, but I recommend Taiyaki NYC for those who have never tried it before.

I love this place when I need a sweet treat in the area. I don't even care if it's snowing, it's that delicious! The employees are good at explaining the menu. It is very small inside with not much room to sit but that's okay, it is easy to take to go just like an ice cream cone.

If you're craving Japanese red bean cake and soft serve ice cream, this spot is perfect for you. The ice cream was delicious and super cute! However, the indoor seating is very limited, with no cushions or comfortable seating -- so it's not really a place to sit and stay for long.

Ask the Community - Taiyaki NYC

    Is anything Gluten free?

Hello! All the ice cream, regular waffle cones, and mini baby mochi taiyaki bites are gluten-free. The taiyaki fish cones are not gluten free.

    Is there outdoor seating?

There is no seating outside, it is on a busy narrow sidewalk so it's best to take it to go and eat it somewhere else :)

Is the rilakkuma taiyaki still available or is it seasonal?

The Rilakkuma taiyaki is still currently available on our menu!

Do you have a min for credit card or Apple Pay?

    Nope

    Do they deliver?

Hi Tiffany E. Yes they do offer delivery, but for their pastries. By the way their pastry donuts are BOSS! Enjoy

Do all of the flavors have almond flour? Please say no

That's only their fish-shaped cone. Their ice cream doesn't use flour.

Do you sell taiyaki without the ice cream?.

Yes, we have the Traditional Taiyaki

Do they limit the amount of Pancakes they sell on weekends? I heard that they only sell 100 orders a day?

Nope! Although they only serve pancakes from 11:00 PM to 2PM on the weekends. (Friday, Saturday and Sunday)

Does this location have the soufflé pancakes?

    Yes.

How long is the wait for the soufflé pancakes? Are they only served during certain hours?

Friday - Sunday (11-2pm) Last time I came on a Saturday and was the 2nd person in line 30min before…

    Do they have Pancakes?

    They have souffle pancakes !

For the suffle pancake how many pieces per one?

    2 pancakes per order

Are the matcha cones available everyday since we have a nut allergy?

    Yes I believe so

I saw that in August of 2018 that it was said to be launching vegan options but did not state a date. Has this launch happened yet?

Yes, they have vegan coconut sorbet and vegan sprinkles.

Which day do you serve the fluffy pancake?

The soufflé pancakes are sold Friday-Sunday from 11 am - 2 pm.

Is the fish cone hard or soft?

    Soft like a waffle

How long did y'all have to wait?

To be honest we didn't wait long at all maybe 5 -10 min

Are there tables and chairs inside? Or is it standing room only?

No tables and chairs, you're standing.

Is there a menu with the different flavors of ice cream? I couldn't find it online and there is no mention of the different flavors offered on the Taiyaki website.

If you look at the pic I posted it's the step 2 pick flavor part of the pic

Do they do sampling here? I want to try their black sesame ice cream but I wanna know how it tastes first.

Yes we do! You can try any ice cream flavors before you commit, just ask the cashier and we’ll gladly help you with any questions.

There are different types of cold treats: gelatos and more slushie like consistency frozen confections that are served in a cup. My vegan friend appreciated that he could choose from multiple vegan flavors, not just be limited to the one and only offering, which is what most places usually have. Melon flavor was incredible. Tasted like frozen melon was crushed with ice and chopped into an ice/smoothie blend. Super refreshing. Very sweet, though. All flavors are very sweet, so a small portion can be shared and you will feel satisfied. I personally enjoyed their in-house special flavor of gelato: honey cream with crushed almonds, pistachios, and hazelnuts. That was bombastic! Love how nutty the consistency was. I love nuts, so this almost reminded me of a chunky peanut butter situation: just more fine grained and smooth, with gelato being the base. Highly recommend trying this flavor! Focacia was okay. A bit too dry and bland for my liking, but still decent. My favorite item was the pistachio bombolone which is officially now my favorite dessert. This was magnificent! The yeasty dough was so light and airy--perfectly light and balanced. The filling of pistachio cream was very delicate and not sweet at all, which was such a nice surprise. I do not like saccharine dessert. The fresh raspberry jam was a perfect balance to the pistachio cream. I never like jams in my desserts, but this was a perfect complement. Woooow, what a treat! Can't wait to return for it and to try more of their other flavors--hazelnut & chocolate, coconut, white chocolate, tiramisu. You could taste the superb quality of the ingredients. Highly recommend.

Upon arrival we noticed the difference in crowds. Not as busy and packed sidewalks. Also it was a lot cleaner than Chinatown. Since we just ate at C-Town, it was time to find a good dessert place in K-Town. So we walked and we walked until I saw a banner sign showing shaved ice desserts. Then I noticed the name of the business is Grace Street. How fitting, because that is my wife's name. So we went in and what caught my eye was a mango shaved ice with mangoes, mochi, strawberries, and condensed milk, however I was over ruled by my wife and we went with the black sesame and mochi and condensed milk. It also had red bean, but that had to be on the side, since that gives me gout. Such nice staff taking orders and we went into the dining area to find a seat. What a large spacious area with many tables. Our order came out and it looked so good. The black sesame shaved ice or snow as it's also referred to as, was perfectly sweetened by the condensed milk and the chewy mochi. Definitely cleaned my pallet from our Chinese lunch and it helped cool me down from the New York heat. We got water, but there was no ice offered, so I asked one of the workers and he was kind enough to get me some. We are through that dessert like, if we didn't finish it fast, it was going to melt. We did not give it a chance to melt one bit. The staff here are efficient, as they saw we were done, they asked to clear our dessert bowl away. It was a nice experience even if it was just dessert. They definitely had more dessert options to offer, but i
