Just happened to walk past this place and decided to pop in. It's a fun concept! Sundaes with Asian inspired ice cream flavors, a topping, and a drizzle. Very small scoop shop with seating for maybe one party and some standing room. Limited to a couple flavors for samples. We got the toasted rice and pandan with mochi and black sesame drizzle. The ice cream texture was nice and creamy with some decent body. Flavors came through and that black sesame drizzle is to die for. The employees were also very friendly. Would definitely come back again!
Absolutely loved the ice cream. I got the toasted rice with toasted rice bits on top and black sesame sauce. Texture and taste of the toasted rice ice cream was phenomenal. Would highly recommend. The person working there was also so so nice.

Decent amount of flavors were sold out, but we ended up getting Toasted Rice and Pandam... the black sesame drizzle on top was super flavorful too. Will be back to try some of the other flavors!

By the time I received my scoop, it was already halfway melted, which was pretty disappointing. I also didn't love that you're limited to only two or three tasting flavors per person either
Super friendly service! I went pretty late into the day so there weren't a ton of unique flavors left. I was able to sample the Ube Latte, which was really great, but ended up opting for Pandan (basic, I know). I wouldn't say it was anything otherworldly, but the pandan was really fragrant and nice. I also got to try the Banana Mochi, which was tasty as well! I also enjoyed the the single scoop comes with a sauce and topping:-) Small shop, but we were able to stand by the counter to enjoy the ice cream. I'd come back to try the other flavors!
Got the banana pudding mochi ice cream and I loved it SO MUCH. This is like if Magnolia Bakery's banana pudding was in ice cream form. I always get a small at other places to share with friends and I find that to be good enough, but here I kinda wished I didn't share with my friend because of how much I enjoyed it. The workers were really friendly and the scoops were pretty generous. When I came there were a few flavors that were sold out but I don't think that's something people should really be complaining about because this is a pretty small shop and it's similar to bakeries selling out of certain items as the day progresses lol.

The staff here is so friendly though, and I had so much fun chatting with her as we tried different flavors. We ended up getting their ube + Vietnamese coffee flavor as well as their black sesame. I personally loved their black sesame as you could taste the actual black sesame in the ice cream. Would definitely love to come back if I were in the area!
We loved the delicious, creamy, and novel flavors at this small ice cream shop. We ordered the banana pudding mochi, black sesame and white cookie, and pandan sampler ($10.65). Each order comes with a free topping and drizzle; we only got the extra mochi. Given the price of ice cream parlors these days, this three-scoop price was actually a deal. The scoops were very generous. My favorite flavor was the pandan. The banana pudding mochi was a bit too sweet for me. I wish there had been more black sesame in the black sesame and white cookie, though the concept was certainly unusual. Seating was very limited; there were only seats for two people or so. I'm hoping to try the toasted rice and ube next time. Definitely a great addition to the neighborhood.
I was surprised when I saw a line to order. It was a weekend and also drizzling and there was only one individual working, so I did not mind waiting, no complaints here. However, the ice cream was sweeter than i like, it was good, but it was very hard for me to finish because it was just so heavy on the sugar where it made me feel sick. But still a cute artisanal ice cream shop in a very populated area.
Had here expectations for Noona's but was a bit overwhelmed. To be fair, we also came here a little later in the evening so half of the flavors were sold out. We split the ube latte with vietnamese coffee ice cream and banana pudding mochi ice cream. The vietnamese coffee kind of overpowered the use flavor, but it was still pretty solid. I didn't get any mochi chunks in the banana pudding mochi flavor, which was a little disappointing since I was really looking forward to the texture. Otherwise, it's how you would imagine banana pudding in ice cream form to taste! I really like the concept of Asian-inspired flavors, so even though it wasn't particularly a memorable first experience I'd definitely be open to trying it again.
Tried the toasted rice with mochi and black sesame drizzle ($8). So good, dare I say it rivals caffe panna?? I am definitely partial to their Asian-inspired flavors and need to come back to try more!
Exceptional ice cream. Some of the most unique and delicious asian ice cream i've had. Queue is kind of weird and starts at the back. Service is really slow but attentive. Will come back to try other flavors but banana pudding mochi was amazing.
I stopped by here today because I heard they had unique asian flavors, wasn't particularly impressed. Flavor choice: They were sold out of almost everything. An ice cream place with barely any ice cream :| I settled on the pandan. The ice cream quality: The ice cream itself was good, the mochi was also good, the coconut crunch was stupid. Way too sweet and didn't even taste much coconut. Service: the staff was very nice, not particularly knowledgeable about all of the items they sold there, but they were very nice. Overall: I Likely won't be back to, but if you go, avoid the coconut crunch.
Fantastic ice cream experience! I really enjoyed the texture and consistency of this ice cream. However, I wasn't a huge fan of the flavors initially; I thought the toasted rice tasted a bit too toasty (hard to describe) and I thought the ube w/ Vietnamese coffee had too much coffee flavor. The ice cream flavors did grow on me as I continued eating though. Each ice cream also comes with a topping and a drizzle; I got the mochi and the black sesame drizzle, both of which I highly recommend. I think this combination of toppings helped balance out the ice cream nicely. I believe this is a family/individual owned ice cream shop; the lady at the counter was super nice and friendly. There's not a whole ton of space inside to eat and there can be a small line outside. 4.8/5 read more

I'd say they're the best asian flavored ice cream spot in NYC right now! My sister got me a pint of Noona's Ice Cream (Yuzu Blossom) before they opened this brick and mortar and I LOVED it. The texture was smooth, and the yuzu flavor was authentically present, not too sweet, and really honored the good quality ingredients used. When I heard this place opened a shop in the EV I was soooo excited to try it, and finally made my way out over the summer. The Strawberry Lychee was a hit, a perfect blend of the two flavors and exactly what I expect as someone who grew up eating lychee. It wasn't too sweet, and again, the perfect texture, but dense and heavy enough to be regarded as the ice cream we know and love. The Black Sesame oreo was equally inventive and delicious, sharing aspects of both the cookie we are used to, and that buttery nice black sesame flavor that honestly was a good combo. The pandan crinkle cookie was also fresh and light, not too sweet, and had a nice pandan flavor running throughout. Not sure if they used extract for it, but it was yummy nonetheless. read more

Super friendly service! I went pretty late into the day so there weren't a ton of unique flavors left. The Black Sesame was nutty-flavored, and I actually ended up liking that flavor more than the one I ordered. I got the Strawberry Yuzu Dreamsicle, which was fruity, with fun toppings like black sesame and honeycomb cookie crumbles. I didn't get as much of the black sesame flavor as I did the honeycomb. I enjoyed the sticky, almost toffee-like texture of the crumbles. On a weekend afternoon, it wasn't busy, so the service was quick and it was peaceful in the ice cream shop. read more
My boyfriend and I are longtime fans of Noona's (discovered their pints over Covid) and were so happy to see them open a storefront. The ube latte with Vietnamese coffee is incredible - I've been dreaming about it since I had it about a month ago. Also really liked the pandan coconut crunch. Toppings are included with each order, so I opted for the coconut crunch topping and yuzu jam. The scooper working the evening we visited was super friendly, and gave us complimentary ube and pandan cookies because they were trying out flavors! read more

I have meaning to try this place for so long but the times I went before they were sold out. Luckily I got some ice cream today and can see why it's sold out. It was super yummy and the ice cream was high quality you could take the richness but it wasn't too sweet which is perfect. The staff is beyond amazing and so kind and I will say the ambiance is a cozy ice cream shop vibe. A must try for sure read more

Small ice cream shop with very friendly service! Many Asian inspired flavors available, and scoops come with complimentary topping and drizzle. Sampled the strawberry yuzu and passionfruit tres leches, and ended up picking the latter with a passionfruit drizzle and rice crispies which was delicious (some options for toppings were unavailable at the time we went). After dinner, my friend and I came to Noonas to try their Asian-American influenced ice cream. Unfortunately, at that time of night, they were already out of the Ube Latte with Vietnamese Coffee, so we ended up ordering a scoop of the Black Sesame and Stick with me Honeycomb ($7.65). Each scoop comes with a crumble and a drizzle of your choice. Overall I think the flavor and combination choice fell short of expectations for the both of us. The ice-cream was too sweet and the texture was stickier than our liking. I felt like the crumble was too hard and the drizzle did not contribute to the flavor. My friend is Korean and loves sesame and she described her order as tasting watered-down. Maybe we did not choose the right combination. It was disappointing for us, but they seem to be popular. read more

Really good! The inside of the store is small but cute. There aren't a ton of flavors but there are enough for most palates, including some flavor combos I haven't seen elsewhere. It's a little pricey but on par with other ice cream in the city. The employee who served us was awesome! She was knowledgeable about the flavors, asked which scoop we wanted on the bottom, and really took her time to craft a beautiful little sundae. The crispy rice topping is not just crispy but appears to be sugar coated and caramelized or something, which made it very sweet and crunchy in a way that overpowered the ice cream. So...I may have come here three times in my weekend visit to NYC and I regret nothing. Between excellent flavors, warm hospitality, supporting a woman-owned / minority-owned business with a meaningful story, we were so happy to support. Noona's Ice Cream showed up on my scrolling of Instagram and boy did it perfectly catch my attention. It was opening a few weeks before our upcoming weekend trip to NYC and perfectly a few blocks from our hotel. I told my husband, "Alright, let's check it out and add it to our list" We came for dessert after our dinner date and ended up falling in love with all the flavors. Toasted rice? Pandan? Ube Vietnamese Coffee? Black Sesame? All flavors I love and seek to find. The Banana Pudding Mochi was also addicting and my husband's favorite. Italian Rainbow Cookie I personally attached myself to because I love almond flavors in things and the chunks of cookie were a delight in each bite. Unique toppings and drizzles like the black sesame drizzle or the caramelized rice crunchies are ones I haven't seen yet. Each order comes with a topping and drizzle (or you can two of one type) to really piece it together. Night one I got Ube Vietnamese Coffee, Pandan, and Banana Pudding Mochi in a cup while my husband got Italian Rainbow Cookie and the Banana Pudding Mochi. Day two, my family came into town and I kept raving to them how they had to try this spot too...so I came back with the whole clan. Their favorites were the Strawberry Yuzu, Ube Vietnamese Coffee, and the Toasted Rice. Not gonna lie...I loved the Toasted Rice on my first night too and was banking on hoping my family would agree to come with me so I could get it again. The Toasted Rice ice cream works perfect with a drizzle of black sesame syrup and the Caramelized Rice Crunchies. Between the 7 of use we bought 5 single scoops to share. It was PERFECT. My husband even got a black sesame black and white cookie which he's savoring every bite of. While the store ran out of matcha raspberry, hearing it was due to waiting on certain ingredients shows that Noona's takes quality seriously. Day three...because we have a family event in a different state coming up...the family said bring some pints. So we came back, bought 5 pints of ice cream, and now they're in my freezer for our family holiday party later this week. Each time we came back, Shantel was a joy and positive energy. Her hospitality and cheerful smile made coming back each time even more fun. Learning about the story of Hannah Bae (owner) through the Eater article makes it even more heart-warming to support entrepreneurship and local businesses. We didn't get a chance to try any cakes (yet) knowing those will continually be added is exciting! My sister exclaimed this is the type of cake she'd want for her birthday (and duly noted). Hope anyone reading this review enjoyed the story time of how I found Noona's and got quickly obsessed. My family will now be eyeing if they can get shipments of Noona's when they travel home after the holidays and I can already tell it's gonna be a hit. Cheers! read more

I love an ice cream place with Asian flavors! I was somewhat disappointed that they had run out of a lot of flavors by the early afternoon (black sesame, banana pudding), but the person working when I came in was really kind and encouraged me to try a lot of different flavors that they did have available. I ended up ordering the pandan coconut crunch, which I recommend if you like the combo, and especially for coconut lovers. The flavor was strong and came through, and the scoop comes with a topping as well as a syrup. I got mochi and black sesame jam, which paired so well with the ice cream. The only thing was that my scoop was slightly icey, and I would have preferred a more smooth texture. The place is small, but they have a counter/ledge that you're able to stand and eat at, as well as a bench at the back that can seat 2-3 people. They also sell baked goods that looked delicious! read more

Impressed by the interesting, well executed, and Asian influenced ice cream flavors! Not only did they have your more classic Asian flavors such as taro and pandan, but also unique flavors like toasted rice, banana pudding mochi, and sesame black and white cookie to name a few. Each ice cream includes 1 crumble and 1 drizzle, both of which include interesting options such as rice crunchies, black sesame jam, and yuzu jam. Each person can try 3 flavors. I very much enjoyed my toasted rice ice cream with the black sesame jam and wafers on the side. The toasted rice tasted like its name with a good amount of crunchy rice bits. It was the perfect sweet savory combo for me! The black sesame drizzle was a nice addition, since it really reminded me of the Cantonese dessert black sesame "soup" 芝麻糊. My friend's ube latte with viet coffee was also tasty with its prominent coffee and ube flavors, but I didn't get to try enough to assess the ratio of the flavors. The texture of the ice cream was good, although less gummy than what I prefer. Loved how both flavors weren't too sweet either! Besides scoops, they also offer pints in the back among other baked goods that I plan to try in the future. The store itself has limited seating in the back and a counter for standing customers. Staff was nice and polite. I look forward to coming back to check out their other flavors and drizzles! read more
A cute little ice cream shop in the East Village serving Asian inspired flavors like ube, Vietnamese ice cream, and pandan. I ordered the toasted rice flavor and topped it with honeycomb and a black sesame drizzle. AMAZING combination, would highly recommend it. Bonus points because it comes with two free toppings! It's small inside with some standing ledges and one small bench. The person working the counter was very nice. I'd come back to try more flavors! read more

the flavor and topping combos you can make here are all so so good. i highly recommend the pandan ice cream with the honeycomb crumble. i had it a while ago and i think about it on the regular. i love honeycomb crumble as a topping and i wish it was available at more places. service was also great, the lady putting together my order said she approved of the combo #blessed read more
