Great soft serve place in the city. Got the sea salt olive oil soft serve. The ice cream was fantastic. Wasn't really a huge fan of the sea salt olive oil combo. I would definitely come back to try a different flavor. There's a few seats and it came out pretty quickly. Would definitely stop by this joint

Really good soft serve!!! I think Butterfield or glace is still my fave but this is great! I do wish they had more seating though.

Great soft serve spot. Delicious ice cream. Grab and go type of spot. We got the matcha hard shell for the picture and to just try it out. It was fun to crack the shell and the ice cream was still good! The inside was a delicious smooth vanilla. Fun experience and cute picture!

Stopped by Soft Side Ice Cream for a cold treat and tried their weekend-only Starburst collab. I went with the strawberry and orange swirl in a cup, which came to $7.73. The flavor was extremely fruity, and refreshing -- a fun twist that really worked well together. Definitely glad I caught this collab while it was around.

It wasn't exactly ice cream weather but that didn't stop us! We wanted a banana split but they were out of bananas so we had a strawberry shortcake sundae instead. It made our trio quite happy with its multiple applications of strawberry (sauce, fresh, freeze-dried).

Ice cream flavor is okay. I got the matcha and a chocolate hardshell with vanilla ice cream. It melts really quickly. I wouldn't say this place is too exciting in terms of flavor offerings/ menu options. Pretty standard soft serve ice cream place. There's only limited outdoor seating.

I came here for a sweet treat with one of my girl friends after our dinner and it hit the spot! This spot doesn't have indoor or outdoor seating, so it's definitely a grab and go spot, but I didn't mind! Their menu is fairly simple with four flavor options: chocolate, vanilla, pistachio, and strawberry. However, you could definitely get some toppings to add on! My friend and I got their chocolate/vanilla swirl & pistachio/strawberry swirl. Both were delicious, and portion sizes were great. The only thing is that I wish the pistachio flavor was a bit stronger, but it was still great nonetheless. Great soft serve!

The sundae was great and the matcha shell was a great pairing for sweet soft serve. Staff were very sweet and quick to serve. The only comment I have is that seating is hard to find and I had a hard time finding a garbage can for when we were done.

    Soft serve in olive oil!

Looking to cool off on a hot New York afternoon, we stumbled upon Softside and decided on some soft serve. But what stood out to me was the option for soft serve with olive oil. I'd never heard of this before, so I had to give it a try, and I was not disappointed - something about creamy, sweet soft serve drenched in smooth, oily and savory olive oil seemed intriguing, and it hit the spot! For the olive oil ice cream alone, I think it's worth visiting this tiny little hole in the wall. Give it a try, you'll be glad you did!

Staff is super friendly and there are 2-3 tables outside you can sit at (granted it's not already filled with customers from their pizzeria next door). We tried the olive oil ice cream, it was definitely an interesting experience! Still not sure if this is for me but the olive oil is not as heavy as other places' I've had. They also had salt and honey which definitely switches up the vibe and adds to it.

A trendy spot for soft-serve -- they've really mastered the art of a perfect swirl. The counter is casual and line isn't too bad. I got the Vanilla with Chocolate Dip and Cinammon Toast Crunch and loved it!

My friends and I were craving for desserts after dinner. We did a quick google search and found this place and decided to come here to try their olive oil ice cream. The ice cream was very creamy and I actually really liked the olive oil with ice cream. They also put sea salt all over the ice cream which was a nice touch but they kinda over salt it and some bites were way too salty. The ice cream was also kinda pricy and it was almost $10 after tax. It was pretty big and could definitely be shared between two people though. I will probably come back in the future but will definitely ask them to put less salt in the ice cream.

Open late to serve that late night sweet craving. The riff was good, olive oil, honey and sea salt on vanilla soft serve but it's quite pricey for what it is.

There are different types of cold treats: gelatos and more slushie like consistency frozen confections that are served in a cup. My vegan friend appreciated that he could choose from multiple vegan flavors, not just be limited to the one and only offering, which is what most places usually have. Melon flavor was incredible. Tasted like frozen melon was crushed with ice and chopped into an ice/smoothie blend. Super refreshing. Very sweet, though. All flavors are very sweet, so a small portion can be shared and you will feel satisfied. I personally enjoyed their in-house special flavor of gelato: honey cream with crushed almonds, pistachios, and hazelnuts. That was bombastic! Love how nutty the consistency was. I love nuts, so this almost reminded me of a chunky peanut butter situation: just more fine grained and smooth, with gelato being the base. Highly recommend trying this flavor! Focacia was okay. A bit too dry and bland for my liking, but still decent. My favorite item was the pistachio bombolone which is officially now my favorite dessert. This was magnificent! The yeasty dough was so light and airy--perfectly light and balanced. The filling of pistachio cream was very delicate and not sweet at all, which was such a nice surprise. I do not like saccharine dessert. The fresh raspberry jam was a perfect balance to the pistachio cream. I never like jams in my desserts, but this was a perfect complement. Woooow, what a treat! Can't wait to return for it and to try more of their other flavors--hazelnut & chocolate, coconut, white chocolate, tiramisu. You could taste the superb quality of the ingredients. Highly recommend.

I was just walking by when they were handing out samples, took one bite, and immediately turned around to buy a full serving. It was THAT good. In fact, I went back the very next day... no regrets. There's just something special about their gelato--especially when topped with that rich pistachio sauce. On a previous visit to their Times Square location, I had one of their more decadent creations: gelato with waffle sticks and pistachio sauce. It was absolutely heavenly and incredibly delicious. This time, I didn't have room for something quite as indulgent, but I still wanted something sweet after dinner at La Basque. The closest Amorino was in Greenwich Village, just a 10-minute walk away. That walk alone is always a treat--Greenwich Village is charming, pedestrian-friendly, and full of outdoor dining and energy, especially on a September Saturday afternoon. I grabbed my gelato to-go and chose the amarena and hazelnut flavors, topped with the signature pistachio sauce. They poured the sauce at the bottom of the cup, and it hardened slightly to create a delicious shell underneath the gelato. I enjoyed it while walking through the Village, soaking in the late-summer atmosphere of the city with gelato in hand. Simple, sweet, and exactly what I needed.
