Complained to customer service, happy to report that at least we got a refund and the replacement was free, but quality is of concern here. After receiving a second damaged arrangement that was meant to replace the first one for customer service, I was upset. I don't understand how any floral company can survive in this economy, charge these prices and deliver damaged flowers to major corporate offices in a paper bag, leaking with water all over. I have had the flowers on my desk for less than 24 hours and they have greatly expanded and no longer look like roses. The printing of the photo and card is nice, but it was soaked when I got it. They literally said "sorry we can't make it right" in their reply when I sent a second complaint. In their third attempt to make up for it, which I am grateful for anyway, it was even worse of an experience because delivery never notified me or didn't show up, and I actually don't know the truth yet because I received two different answers. Delivery day I received a photo of the wrapped arrangement ( which was a little underwhelming) informing me that it was on the way. Several hours later, I received an email informing me that delivery couldn't be made today due to a logistics issue on their end. I was given this recommendation that I passed on to my husband (hehe) for our anniversary while we were in NYC. We've had some bad experiences in the past with the big online flower companies when sending flowers to friends & family since they pick random local florists and you get what you get. Ode is a bit on the pricier side but the quality of flowers, packaging, delivery, and services available made it a great experience. He ordered 50 roses along with some champagne bears and macarons and it was so lovely. They have the option of printing a photo and we had them print one of our dogs since they weren't with us. Also, when the bouquet is sent out for delivery, you get sent a picture to see what you're getting before it arrives! I've used Ode a la Rose a few times to send flowers to my mother in Arizona. Great experience the first few times. This last time, however, I got her a nearly $200 bouquet for Mother's Day. She followed the care instructions, but the flowers wilted after just 2-3 days and the peonies never opened at all (just turned brown on the outside). I didn't learn of this until now (three weeks after Mother's Day) and reached out to customer service with pictures. Although they said they were "so sorry to see the bouquet was subpar," they did not offer to refund or even replace the bouquet, because it had been more than 48 hours since the delivery date. My mom didn't even mention the wilted bouquet to me until yesterday (though she had taken pics at the time, she didn't want to "bother" me with it). My friend is a florist where I have helped in her studio for some years long enough to know that the roses used were old, and wilted. 2. A photo of bouquet was not sent as promised on website 3. While the arrangement looked nice at first, the flowers began wilting just two days after delivery--even though they were properly cared for. When I contacted customer service, they insisted on receiving a photo before offering any help, which felt cold and unhelpful considering the circumstances. Their website looked very impressive and the bouquets they have advertised on their website are stunningly gorgeous. I picked out one of their bestselling bouquets (the "Nora" bouquet) which boasted a whopping $143 price tag! This is by no means cheap for flowers, so I felt comfortable paying this amount based on what I saw on their website. However, upon delivery of the bouquet I was very, VERY disappointed with what was received. Half of the bouquet was smushed, damaging flowers. While about 80% of the bouquet was an "accent flower". The picture on their website features a WIDE VARIETY of various flowers arranged beautifully in the bouquet, but this if far from what the final product was. The bouquet was VERY small, very lackluster, and filled with leafy green accents that left me feeling robbed of the money I spent on this arrangement. There is no place on their website to voice your concerns, frustrations, feedback, reviews, etc. so I have no real way of getting in touch with the company. I'm very upset and disappointed with this purchase. I'd like to demand a refund for this arrangement, but it's clear the company doesn't care about their customers if this is the type of products they're producing in addition to willingly misleading people through what is advertised on their website. Cannot recommend this company, and so sad I cannot because I had high hopes based on the reviews and beautiful website. I had even read the founders' story prior to purchasing my first order and loved it--I was completely reeled in and thought I had found a company with great quality and value. Tragically, Ode à la Rose did not deliver my order, and they gave me my money back only after I requested a refund; I even had to request for the remainder of my refund because they held onto the "logistics" fee. A week prior to Valentine's Day, I ordered roses and macarons (such a cute addition!), and selected the printout photo for the delivery. I was so excited and enthused that this might be a great company to use in the future. I was wrong. On the morning of Valentine's Day, I received an email around 7am that my order was out for delivery to my boyfriend's workplace--accompanied by a photo of the flowers. (Upon purchasing, I had indicated that it was a business, and the delivery window was thus set as between 9am-5pm. Great! ....Or so I thought). I kept my eyes on the "status" page throughout the day, and by the time it was getting close to 6pm I gave the customer service number a call. I encountered a frustrating voicemail that directed callers to email them instead due to the high volume. I emailed a few times, no response. Finally at 7:50pm I received an email that my order had been delivered--but this was false. My boyfriend's business had already closed at 7pm. Even worse, I had to involve my boyfriend during his last hour at work by asking if he had received anything, etc. I wanted it to be a complete surprise. The only surprise he got that day was learning that he did not receive my gift. What a huge disappointment. Customer service responded to my emails the next day, simply stating that they saw the delivery had been made. I had to correct them and confirm it had not been delivered. They then responded that there was a "glitch" in the system, acknowledged that it had not been delivered and that they "try their best" to deliver within the delivery window (they were almost three hours past it...), and "as requested" would refund me. They refunded me everything except the $20 "logistics" charge, which I had to ask to get back. (Otherwise, it would have been theft). I expressed my dissatisfaction with the customer service for this hugely disappointing experience (it was my first time sending my boyfriend flowers). They merely apologized without any genuine concern for providing good customer care or acknowledging my poor experience. They expressed no interest in building good faith or trust. I was merely a small order to them. That was my first and last order from this company. Not only did they clearly not adequately prepare for Valentine's Day, but their customer service also entirely failed to make things right--especially for such a terrible first impression. At minimum, they gave me back my money (after I had to request twice for all of it) and apologized that they were unable to fulfill the order.
