The chicken breast sandwich is fantastic and at $7.99 is inexpensive. I highly recommend Odyssey to anyone!

Ok, so my review is going to be very up and down. It's difficult because I'm a huge fan of Mediterranean food, but there are not many options for this in Eastie. During coronavirus quarantine this and Nour were the only Mediterranean places that delivered in the area (usually only 3 or 4 options). Item 1) falafel salad with Greek dressing: the house dressing was great. But one of my biggest pet peeves is getting a salad and having chunky vegetables. I hate the work of having to chop/cut them myself and feel as if this defeats the point of buying a salad when I can make it at home with the same effort. Also, the amount of veggies lacked. You can't tell from the pic, but it was mostly lettuce. The craziest thing of all was the olives had pits! Who puts pitted olives in salads?! Falafel wasn't exciting. Item 2) pita: this came with the salad. The pita was actually delicious. A nearly perfect combination fluffy, crispy, and buttery. I recommend getting a side order of this Item 3) spinach pie: so spanakopita it actually one of my favorite foods! I was a little unsure when I saw it how it'd be, but it is very delicious. I'd go back and just get this. Highly recommend if you have not had it before. Tastes very authentic Item 4) grape leaves: overall they were okay. Not the best grape leaves I've had and a bit oily, but if you're craving grape leaves these will do. I prefer the grape leaves at Nour, however overall I'd say this place is slightly better. read more

Placed and order for pick up including some extra "paid for sauces. Was told the sauce was in the bag and it was not when we arrived home to eat. Called Slice (their ordering company) to get a refund. The restaurant said they would not refund because they had included the sauces. They totally lost our business over this! Just ordered delivery from this place and ate every single speck of it. Good. Steak tip. Christ. It was so good I had to immediately leave a review. I had a salad with Greek dressing and steak tips, and a spinach pie. It was absolutely amazing. I asked for the steak tips to be rare and they were! (for some reason I feel like a lot of places don't believe me when I say I want them RAAAAARE.) If I could use whatever they marinated them in as a skin cream I would. Seriously the salad almost didn't even need dressing because the juice and marinade from the steak tips was THAT. GOOD. The spinach pie was the perfect size, actually really pretty, super flaky, still hot when I got it, and sooooo flavorful. I can see myself ordering from this place at least once a week. You all know me and my passion for good pizza and food in the area, and that I usually have a high standard for my tasties. When I moved back to the East Boston area (my hometown) a few years ago, I thought that it was time to get back to my roots. East Boston was once the mecca of pizza, with a good pizza joint seemingly on every corner. But as times changed, the pizza spots faded, and only the strong survived. So, one day in my travels through Winthrop, I saw this new place that I got a flyer in the mail about. Odyssey - when I hear that name I think of The Odyssey, Odysseus, something big, extravagant. Definitely a big deal. I have to admit when I first went there, I was not so sure about that. But then again...as Odysseus learned at one point in his journey - looks can be deceiving. Well, it was differently a case of judging a book by the cover. During my time in the Winthrop area, this place won me over as the champ of the boxed pie and all things tasty. I ordered as much as I could from the menu: salads, subs, side orders, seafood, steak - and everything was perfect and delicious. Delivery was great as well, when hunger hit me so hard that I could not move. Hard to tell all of this from the exterior and being mashed next door to a laundromat. When I first saw the place, I thought it was the business office for the laundromat. But that leads me to the only downside of the business, which is minor to say the least - The parking lot can be a little tricky to get in and out of as it is on a corner of a high traffic intersection. Best to go in the evenings. Outside of that, this is definitely an odyssey that you will want to make in the Winthrop/East Boston area. Great food, great service. -S read more

Very professional local favorite. Fresh and tasty chicken kabob salads are my regular. Competes with some of the best beef joints in the area with a healthy portion for the super beef. I keep a couple boats around the corner and this spot is a sure bet for a great lunch or dinner. Prices also very competitive and fair. These guys don't slack, if they say 15 minutes they mean it. Staying at the Hilton Garden Inn and we needed dinner. We decided that this place would be something different from the seafood and fast food. So surprised, reasonable prices, quick delivery and delicious food. The best gyro he's ever eaten (which is hard to do, since he's picky) and I had the Chicken Broccoli Alfredo, it was so much food and yummy, I couldn't eat it all. If we make it this way again, we will definitely be back as the menu has so much to choose from. read more

Only giving it two stars because I've ordered from here has been good in the past. But I have called twice in the past 3 days to order food and the woman/girl who answered the phone was a rude b***. First call: they had 40 minutes to closing time. I asked for delivery and she gave me a passive aggressive "we're backed up right now... But what do you want." If you can't do delivery, just say so! I obviously didn't order. I just called today (7/23) at 6:30pm. They close at 10pm today. I was really looking forward to their food. When I said the word "delivery," all I hear is a clear sigh of annoyance on the other line followed by quiet. I asked if there was a problem. Then she asked for my phone number. I told her to forget it and I'll just call another place and discinnected the phone call. More venting: I don't expect you to even be friendly over the phone. Just take the order without being so damn rude! tl;dr= good food. HORRIBLE customer service. read more

The chicken kabob salads and greek salads here are so delicious. The salads are huge and full of fresh produce, feta cheese and greek olives. The chicken kabobs are always cooked perfectly. The owner, his wife and staff are always so nice and welcoming. read more

Oh wow, for what this place was, they were incredible. I had a typical Chicken Club, but this thing was made way better than at fancier places. The chicken was fresh, tender, and super succulent. Everything tasted great, including the HUGE portion of fries that came with it. If you come here, I suggest splitting one thing with another person, unless you're someone with a super appetite. I usually grab a chicken kabob salad from them when I'm doing loads and loads of laundry next door at the laundromat. And while eating in the laundromat (yeah, I'm one of those people who just lounge in the seats while waiting for my clothes to finish drying), I always get asked where I got my dinner because it smells SO GOOD. Odyssey is pretty good. Its a greek/italian take out delivery place. I am a fan of their spinach pie which looks to be soaked in butter but is so good. I am also a fan of the roast beef sandwich as well and all of the greek foods that they have such as kebab. I got a pizza and some buffalo wings and I wasn't very impressed. the pizza i will say was my fault I got extra cheese and there was way too much (didn't know that was possible) but I think with just normal cheese it would be good. Now the buffalo wings not so great but there is potential. I don't believe they are fried they seemed baked which would not make them buffalo wings. The blue cheese they serve however is great its the right blue cheese for buffalo wings. I think I will just tell everyone the right way to make good wings so perhaps I can get some for football season. first - deep fry the wings twice this is critical for crispy wings. second the sauce if you gonna go the standard franks route use some tomato paste so the sauce sticks and use some butter if you want. Last and just as important never put cold or room temperature sauce on hot wings they will get soggy you have to heat the sauce. read more

Got delivery from Odyssey tonight for the first time, and I'm a little confused...but also a little delighted. I ordered through Grub Hub, and definitely ordered the chicken souvlaki plate with fries. My order arrived at my door within 30 minutes (awesome), but definitely appeared to be a chicken souvlaki pita...like I said, it was my first experience with Odyssey, but isn't there a difference between a pita and a plate? Who knows. Anyway, the chicken souvlaki pita...WOW. Unbelievably delicious, to the point where I had to pause between bites and literally stare at the pita, attempting to understand how something could be so mouthwateringly incredible. The pita shell was soft and thick with a slightly crisp exterior and delicious wheaty flavor. The chicken inside was so moist and perfectly cooked that it made me wonder what's been wrong with all of the other chicken dishes I've been eating throughout my life, because none of them have tasted like this. Perhaps best of all, the pita was complete with a decadent layer of feta cheese that melted around the perimeter of the pita and made the entire ensemble into one of the most satisfying and memorable meals I've eaten in a long, long time. I'll be dreaming about the chicken souvlaki pita for a while, but the rest of the "plate" would have been better off left behind. The fries were a major disappointment, made up of mushy, greasy, soggy wedges of unsalted potato. I coated them in black pepper and drowned them in ketchup, which made them edible, but I still threw most of them away. There was also a weird iceberg salad included, which was totally unnecessary and came with a "Greek" dressing that tasted more like some kind of sour Ranch dip. Thank God I didn't have to rely on Odyssey's version of Greek dressing for the pita to be moist and juicy, or this review would have been very different. I will order that chicken souvlaki pita over and over and over again, but next time, I'll know to skip the sides and save a little cash. read more

Everything was done right... typical beef on typical bun with typical sauce.. no better or worse than any of the others in the area... besides Kelly's, which has outlived it's reputation, and is now overpriced. Normally, I'm a huge fan of the food and the service. Today, unfortunately, I'm not a fan of either. I ordered my Mom's favorites to be delivered to her. She called me to tell me the food she got wasn't good. I called Odyssey to see if they could send her something different. I was told that the policy is that you have to exchange the bad food for the new food. The "bad" food was either partly eaten (because that was her dinner) or in the dumpster. I know people out there try to scam restaurants, but this seems like bad customer service to me. Sorry, but you lost a long-standing customer today. I'm disappointed. read more

Must have a new chef... I ordered a couple of weeks ago and the pizza had pounds of cheese on it--- to the point where it peeled off like a hard, thick school-lunch pizza kind of way. It also had a very sour taste to it.... Pizza arrived, tasted awful... I immediately called them and informed them of such. Guy on phone agrees to re-make the pizza--- I'm sceptical but he talks fast and reassures me that it will be better... I gave the delivery guy back the 1st pizza and he gives me the 2nd "better" pizza.... I said a prayer--- tasted it--- and GROSS. Granted, there was wayyy less cheese.. the cheese wasn't any less sour. I'm done. I appreciate that when I called, the guy was willing to be helpful... Ordered a pizza and an Italian sub and found strings of black hair in both items. Obviously a stray hair will make it onto food once in a while, but multiple strings on both items is pretty inexcusable and gross. Since moving to Winthrop last month, I've ordered from Odyssey twice and have not been disappointed. Besides the fact that the delivery was SUPER fast both times, the food was great. First time, I had the steak tips with two sides, and the steak was delicious. I'm not sure what kind of sauce/seasoning was it, but it was SO good. My boyfriend had a fish sandwich and thought it tasted very fresh. Next time, we tried their calzone and, although presentation was not that of a typical calzone, it was really great. The prices were reasonable, the menu has a lot of variety, and I also love that you can order online right from their site. As long as I am living in the area, I will rely on Odyssey for our take out needs! read more

I used to love this place because of their fresh baked bread that comes with their salads, but they have disappointed me for the last time and I will not overlook their shortcomings any longer. I ordered a buffalo chicken salad for lunch, through foodler and I specifically ordered it with blue cheese, thinking it would be difficult for them to mess that up because it is submitted to them along with my order. Somehow my salad showed up wet (premade?) and more than half of my lettuce was beyond wilted and grossly inedible, or the white stuff you dont want anyway. They gave me greek dressing instead of the blue cheese that I had asked for, and they had forgotten to send me my bread. Massively disappointing.. When I called to ask for the blue cheese that I needed to enjoy my lunch I also asked for the bread that should have been sent with it. They didn't apologize for the confusion. They actually acted as though I hadn't asked for blue cheese at all, which is insulting because if anything should be the default to go with a buffalo chicken salad I would imagine it would be what I had asked for.. but what do I know.. They told me that they would send me the correct dressing and my bread. After about 25 minutes and a second phone call to ask if they were on their way, the correct dressing finally arrived. The bread, however, was incredibly stale.. I am so upset and disappointed with them, and this will definitely be the last time that we ever order from Odyssey Grill, and that is very difficult for us because we had previously been such fans. read more

Just ordered a BBQ chicken pizza, cheese pizza and Caesar salad. Food was awesome! Delivery time was reasonable and food was nice and hot. The only problem was the BBQ pizza had slid off the base a fair bit, just scraped it all back on. Great pizzas and salad! Thanks! read more
