Usually satisfied here .. Clean, courteous.. But just had the most awful experience. Waited for an hour- they weren't terribly busy. Finally got sat & girl was in a bad mood- rushed my pedi, which at that point was fine// had my 2 year old daughter who has routinely gotten her toes painted- they were incredibly rude to her too & she is so well behaved--(Place is empty) .. I also wanted a fill.. Waited in the chair for 10 minutes // then asked if I was in a hurry bc I wanted to pay & leave. I'm a single mom.. Like another review states, a competitor in town had my nails thicker than mud. They were also fanned out and looked like little paddles on the ends of my fingers. I hated them and they cost me $10 more than if I had gone to Odyssey in the first place! Last night I popped in just after 5 and asked these ladies for help. Helen took a look and told me that she could fix them. I thought for sure that she would need to remove them and start all over, but she did not! She actually fixed them and WOW, she did an amazing job! I LOVE LOVE LOVE my nails today! Thank you Helen. You are a true artist and you are fantastic at what you do. I waited two weeks to do this review just so I could give a full review on how well they hold up. I don't live in Dixon, but was spending the holidays here with the In laws and I didn't have time to go in our town. I called Dec. 23rd and they said they'd be able to take me in with a 15 min wait. I walked in and they greeted me and the lady pointed me to the gel polish selection. They have quite a bit of colors so that was nice. I didn't check how long I waited, but it seemed reasonable. I sat with a young man. They had two guys working there. One was bald and one had hair. I didn't catch his name but I got the one with hair lol he was very nice. He was very quiet which was fine because we're not always up for conversation. I showed him my inspiration picture and he helped me choose the closest gel color. I told him I like my nails as thin and natural looking as he could get them with a tip and acrylic. He did amazingly, better than any other place I've gone. They always tell me they can't go that thin because it would break on me. I'm posting pictures from day 1, week 1 and week 2 so you could see. They've held up perfectly. No lifting other than the expected nail growth. Too bad I'm 7 hours away or this would be my go-to place. The full set is $25, the gel is $10 and I topped $7 so a total of $42. read more

I normally go to Dixon Nails and have amazing service but today I wanted to try something different and stopped in here instead. I get a basic gel mani, on my natural nails. I'm a stylist so regular nail polish just doesn't cut it for me as I would be having to come in more frequently. Worst mistake and such a waste of money. They have an extremely limited gel color selection, its usually hard to pick a color due to so many choices however it was hard to pick a color with what little I was working with. Finally picked and it turned out to be completely different than what it looked like on the swatch. Got it anyways, 2 hours.. I repeat on 2 hours later, it started peeling. I now have paid 25$+ for a half ass gel Mani. I will NOT be returning. read more

Worst place i have ever been too. I came here a week ago to get my nails fo e because i was feeling impatient and didnt wanna wait for my usual nail lady however from the start they were very crooked and didnt even completely reach my nail bed so they looked like they had a week out grown not to mention within 2 days 1 of my nails broke while i was unbuckling my sons carseat. I went to have her fix it as people usually do since that means they didnt do a good job. The lady never said they charge to fix their mistakes. She fixed it and let me leave. Well saturday a second nail broke once again something simple i went to grab my very young son and my nail broke, so i figured i would have that one fixed too. Well once again the lady fixed it after i had to wait for another lady to get her nails done when we both showed up at the same time. This time after she was done she grabbed my keys n walked over to the desk and said "that'll be $4". In which i replied but it was a poorly done job that had to get fixed. And she told me the first time she "did me a favor". But then i explained how she never even told me they charge for that and that they didnt even do them right from the start. She told me i need to becareful and next time it will be $4. Well one just broke today closing a drawer in my fridge and trust me there will never be a next time! I spent $50 for nails that within 2 days were falling off! Not doing anything crazy either just normal everyday stuff. Ill stick to paying atound $80 every 3 weeks for nails that i can literally do anything wearing them n they dont fall off. read more

My daughter, a friend and myself went in for pedicures. Within a couple of days my daughters two big toe's became very sore. She went to our Primary Care Doctor. Diagnosis - bacterial infection caused from the pedicure. She is now on an antibiotic for the infection. We contacted Odyssey Salon and informed them of the infection. The lady we spoke with was EXTREMELY rude!!!! She was simply asking for a refund and they refused. I will never return to this place. Or ever refer them. Worst experience of my life!!! read more

Worst nail job ever!!! I had the gel polish done on my nails here. The polish costs $35, which is almost the same as the other salon I normally go to. However, the polish started chipping the next day!!! The worst part is I don't live in Dixon anymore, I was hanging out with a friend, so to get it fixed I had to drive back to Dixon just for that. Then the lady who did them laughed at me and said "It's Ok, we fix". Umm no definately not ok when I have to waste my time and gas to drive back to a place that guaranteed the polish lasts 2 weeks. When I have gotten them done before-it lasted for 2 1/2 weeks before it began to chip. So basically I got a regular manicure (My nails start to chip with regular polish within a few days.) for $20 more. 2 of the nails ripped off and another nail chipped less than a week after they were done. I just cut down the all nails and have had to deal with the way they look, unless I want to go to the other salon I go to and pay to have them done again. I didn't go back this time and I won't go back again. The pedicure wasn't so bad, but I can get the same treatment at any other salon. read more

I have been coming here for many years to have my eyebrows waxed and every time I have gone it has been great service except for my last visit. I was greeted by the gal with a nod and waved to the back room. I didn't notice that she had a device in her ear she was talking the whole time she was waxing my eyebrows. I even said hello before I realize she was on the phone and she has pointed at her ear like I was bothering her. Leaning over in my face proceeding to have a conversation with whomever she was on the phone with the whole time I was there not once did she stop get off the phone or even pause her conversation. Wax was tripped into my hair which she just grabbed and cut it off like it was nothing! I wasn't happy with the outcome of my eyebrows to top it off. She didn't even bother to walk up to the front counter so I could pay. I left the money on the counter and left. I won't be back. read more

I went in a was asked to come back in an hour which I did. I was then seated. After 10 minutes, they started my water, 10 minutes later 3 ladys walked in, the lady that was going to give me a pedi said that was her 2 pm appointment, they were 15 minutes late, and she asked me if I could wait! I asked how long because I had already came back? In my mind I was like really? She said 30 minutes which really means an hour! I said no! The ambiance wasn't great as I walked in the door, no friendly greeting either. The place looked like it need major renovations. it was a Thursday evening and I decided to stop in for a pedicure as my usual place Dixon Nailspa was busy. I decided I was going to give Odyssey a try today, boy now I WISH I hadn't. The place didn't look to well kept, they re-use their files and stuff. As I watch these people finish up, I realize they did not clean or sanitize their spa between each use, they didn't even disinfect their tools. I was hesitant and getting ready to get up and walk out as I started to feel uneasy. Next thing you know I was seated on a spa, their chairs were outdated. Chair massager didn't work , really so what's the use of a spa chair?? As I was getting my pedicure done, I decided log onto yelp to read the reviews of this salon and after reading Linda M's comment on 9/5/12 I started to SWEAT!!! DISEASE BACTERIA!!!!!
