Did you know that 90% of Canadians report eating breakfast at home every day, including weekends? This made me wonder if breakfast restaurants even exist here, so I assembled a team of research associates to investigate. [[HIGHLIGHT]]We collaboratively determined that "OEB Breakfast Co." would provide our first data sample and upon our arrival we discovered a vibrant setting featuring a versatile menu capable of satisfying a range of desires all the way from your pre-activity refueling missions to your celebratory brunch occasions.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Although a great deal of additional "research" will be required, I accept this responsibility "in the name of science" and am pleased to report my initial findings that breakfast restaurants are, in fact, alive and well North of the border. I would encourage you to conduct your own research on this subject, so if you walk into OEB and happen to hear some OMC, I already know what you'll be thinking..."How bizarre!" And that's...Henry's Take. #oebbreakfastco #howbizarre

A great location within the Willowbrook Mall complex - love that I can go shopping after my lunch here. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The food is solid and a very chill atmosphere that's pet friendly (I came with my dog!)[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Had the chicken and waffle and tuna crudo and I enjoyed both of them. Not too much service (hence -1 star) but I think it's because they were quite busy as it was Sunday. Would definitely recommend especially if you want to bring your pet out.

We came here on a Thursday morning. My kids each ordered the kids breakfast plate, I ordered an omelette, husband ordered the pierogi dish.. then we ordered their popular French toast dish. Everything was pretty decent. The omelette did have a slight artificial taste and texture to it. Luckily, the Tabasco I doused it with helped. The French toast was good and the pierogi dish was decadent and very heavy. Service sucked. Our waitress never once checked on us or cared. When I did ask for a refill on my coffee, she wasn't very thrilled.

BENNIES FOR DAYS! One of the best salmon Benedicts I've ever had comes from OEB. Its called "The Ome That Didn't Get Away" and has silky smooth smoked salmon on top of your choice of poached egg. But the beautiful part about this meal is the hollandaise sauce! Absolutely delicious flavor that you can add to any bite to make it perfection. We opted for the waffle fries as our choice of side, which were also excellent! We also tried the Croque Madame, which is an elevated ham and egg sandwich, also perfection! We ordered a hot chocolate and caramel latte for drinks, and the latte was creamy and tasty, but we wished the hot chocolate had more thickness and flavor. Our server was really nice and attentive even though we went close to closing time and the place seemed to be around 80% full so it was still busy. [[HIGHLIGHT]]They have enough indoor seating and an enclosed patio which gives it a classically brunch vibe.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Will be back to try more menu items!

Met friends for breakfast here and it was a great choice [[HIGHLIGHT]]We sat in the patio/sunroom area it was comfortable and even being the furthest area for the servers everything went smoothly[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We made a reservation at 8:45 cause that's all they had left for breakfast/brunch on this Saturday A little early for me as we had an hr drive to get there I know cry me a river lol That aside we had a great breakfast Was cool to see they use tallow instead of oils definitely better for our overall health The Smoked Meat Bennies were fantastic and everyone enjoyed their meals I also had the green smoothie It was really good We did notice that the meal felt heavy for hours after not sure why but over all it was Great I'm sure we will be back again next time we're in Langley Check it out if you like a menu with lots of different creative food options

This place for brunch is da bomb! So busy but we were seated at the bar right away on a weekend. I have the day their eggs Benedict and brunch menu is seriously delicious.

The food was delicious as always, but what really made our visit stand out was the service. Huge shoutout to Briar, one of the best servers we've had! So friendly, attentive, and made sure everything was perfect from start to finish. Definitely made our brunch experience even better!

Having eaten at the Brentwood's Lougheed location last year we had to try the new Langley location when we had the chance. It's way larger than the Burnaby location, but very bright and airy with lots of colour. We sat outside at the back side facing the mall as it was a beautiful morning. We arrived hungry and we're not at all unhappy about the portion size. We both ordered the Classic breakfast looking for the homey meal, so we can't comment too much on the more sophisticated and trendy offerings. Our breakfast was good, what we expected, but not sensational. The lovely K said her highlight was the potatoes, whereas mine was the multigrain toast. I'd like to see a little more butter for me to apply and I'd like the toast to be a little hotter. Don't know if it's offered, but the option of a second piece of toast would be welcomed. I didn't look to be honest, I just assumed I would get two pieces. Our server Jessie was attentive, but let us be, which is always a fine line. She seemed to sense when we were looking for her which is great. We would definitely return, and be a bit more adventurous with our choices. That said our aversion to a queue and spontaneity with our breakfast/brunch choices might make it a tough get.

Hot brunch spot Oeb Breakfast is now open with location #5 in Metro Vancouver, at Willowbrook Mall. I had to renew my passport to come out here to Langley. Depending on traffic, if you're coming here from Vancouver, you should budget for an hour drive. Oeb continues to expand ... 'to infinity & beyond.' OK not quite so Buzz Lightyear, but maybe by 2099? With so much variety & creative brunch options, one can't go wrong walking into Oeb. I've tried several menu items since 2019 & I've never looked back, thoroughly enjoying all of them. My definate favs in no particular order are - Duck Confit, French Toast Trifle, Waffles, Breakfast Poutines - Lobster Scramble or Soul in a Bowl or Confit De Canard (Oebs twist on poutine with their fries cooked in duck fat are on point), Korean Bulgogi & Forestière. Honestly I could go on, but I'll stop. If you like pictures, then do take a peek at my other Oeb reviews. Oh & the coffee is very good here as well. You can sit at the bar & have a cocktail - or a Bailey's & Coffee anyone? The service staff & hosts were wonderful. Myyrin was awesome! The 'brunch war' in Metro Vancouver is on - so choose wisely & be happy. Oeb will definitely - Fill the Soul!

We got a reservation a day before and there were plenty of spots available. They had a big drinks menu and quiet a few food options as well. Best part was that they had lots of veggie options! Here's what we got: Drinks - :: Zero-proof pineapple fizz - it def looked as good as it tasted. Very refreshing and fruity! Really enjoyed it. :: Guava aperol margarita - delicious! I could taste the guava and the spice on the rim of the glass was perfectly paired with the drink Food - :: Parmesan plenta fries - was so excited to try it, I wasn't sure what to expect. The presentation was amazing, just wish they were a big more crispy but the dipping sauce it came with was really good :: Burrata Bucatini - calabrian chili vodka cream sauce, pancetta, burrata, ricotta, thai basil, grano padano 3/5 :: Brick half chicken - pretty good! I would give it a 4/5 it was really creamy and the chicken was cooked well but I don't think it was seasoned that well. I would say for the portion size and the food, it was a bit overpriced but definitely 5/5 for the ambiance!

It's a stunning space, maybe the best in Langley that we have seen. The entrance is physical, with a wallpaper you'll never see, the shell shape is a statement. The hallway to the washrooms requires some attention with the light and to the reality of the place. The service was top notch, with the two staff members taking care of all of the tables with a well choreographed movement of product. The food, we wish, had reached the level of the service. The best item that we had was the Polenta fries with real Parmigiana Reggiano and a spicy Calabrian chili mayo and chive ash was in our mind fantastic! We'd come back for that alone. My Falafel pull apart sandwich had good flavour, but the corkscrew fried pickle was underwhelming and greasy. I don't know how they made the fries so dry, but they weren't good. The lovely K had the Spicy Peanut noodle bowl, which needed far more peanut flavour, more acid and maybe a little heat. The menu is quite eclectic, but might be a little too much so for some diners. That said the Polenta fries will bring us back, and we'll be trying to copy them at home.

I loved the crispy exterior with the sea salt on top, and the inside was so pillowy and buttery - then topped with the blue cheese butter... yum! So good. For my entree, I ordered the truffle tenderloin steak and my dining partner had the ahi tuna. We also added the Brussels sprouts and Brie mashed potatoes to share. A really cool feature is they bring over a selection of steak knives that you can choose from. I really love this concept and whoever thought that up is a genius. I chose a gorgeous, elegant-looking knife with a handle that looked like mother of pearl. The steak was easily one of the best steaks I've ever had. They shave black truffle directly on the steak when it's served, which adds such a nice richness. The sauce is also one of the better sauces I've had on a steak. It was so tempting to want to lick the plate! It was a cooked to a perfect medium rare and so tender. It's been a long time since I was really blown away by a great steak, but this just hit the mark in every way. The Brussels sprouts were great, but there was something in the dish that was a bit odd - almost like wasabi or something. It wasn't bad, it just had a kick that I wasn't expecting and made me cough a little bit. The potatoes were creamy and buttery but I did think the Brie flavour wasn't coming through enough. Maybe because all the other flavours on my plate were pretty strong. I didn't try the tuna but it looked beautiful and apparently tasted just as good. We finished off with a couple of desserts: the beehive pavlova and the crème brûlée, the latter being my typical go-to dessert. Unfortunately, I didn't really care for the salted caramel flavour here, but can't really put my finger on what exactly I didn't enjoy as I normally love salted caramel. One bite was enough for me. It looked amazing, though. I did enjoy the pavlova, but it wasn't a traditional style as it had ice cream inside instead of whipped cream. It was more like a baked Alaska without the flame. The flavours were good on this dessert, but I probably wouldn't order it again as I was really craving the more traditional pavlova. Service was good, but we did wait quite a long time after being seated before placing our order, and then waited again after dessert before getting our bill. We weren't in a hurry, but I think we were there for over 3 hours. Still a very enjoyable meal and I would definitely return for the steak alone.
