When it was time to replace our laminate floors and the carpeting on our stairs, hallway, and bedrooms, we compared options at Home Depot and several local carpet stores. A measuring technician came out, took all the dimensions, and directed us to the 1020 W. San Carlos location to review their full carpet selection. At the store, we explained what we were looking for, compared carpet features and pricing, and worked with Dominic--who was very accommodating. His total project cost was competitive with the other quotes we received. We also wanted new baseboards that would match our freshly painted walls and trim. Dominic arranged to have the primed (but unpainted) 16' wood baseboards delivered ahead of installation, giving us time to paint everything before the carpet went in. Tip Our new carpet and pad are very soft and plush--great underfoot, especially on the stairs. Because the new flooring sits higher than the original laminate, our bedroom doors needed to be trimmed by about half an inch. We cut the doors ourselves, but it's worth asking whether your installer can include that as part of the project. Pros * Dominic is a true carpeting professional--he anticipated our needs and offered thoughtful guidance throughout the process. * Both the wood and carpet installation teams did solid, quality work. He buys short ends from American carpet manufacturers at terrific prices. I needed carpet for 2 bedrooms as the rest of house is hardwood. I got great quality, fully pet stain resistant, carpet for an unexpectedly low price. His team will even move furniture for a LOW price to make it easier on you. The shop on San Carlos isn't much to look at but you'll get awesome help and samples sent to your home. I don't think you can beat this place unless you need continuous carpet for several rooms. How did I not post my review? This place is a GEM - I was so grateful they are in their same spot on San Carlos. It feels like the last bit of old San Jose right where they are and the Feed store across the street. A few notes - parking was a challenge. There are so many new complexes and I circled a few times before ultimately parking at the store and walking down. I had to go to the store anyway - worked our perfectly! What I love about this place, so many options and the pricing cannot be beat. This was our second time getting a carpet for our living room, but we wanted it to be a super large area rug, so not fully installed. Our son loves to lay on the floor and having a cozy area rug is so wonderful. The first time we found a shag rug that was awesome, this time we went with a Cashmere carpet, really thick pile and so luxurious feeling. I wanted a lighter color, this is perfect. The pricing CANNOT BE BEAT and they finish the edges for us! I think the hardest thing for me was that since it was an area rug, not an install, the guys just brought it in but did not rollout. THIS THING WAS HEAVY and my husband had hurt his back, so I played wrestle the rug for a solid 45 minutes before I could get it in place, but totally worth it! When I redo our bedroom carpet (soon), I am going back to them and will absolutely go with their install services for that :D, but I have no doubt I will find a high-quality option, it might not be exactly the color you want at any given time, so go in with an open mind and you never know what incredible deal you walk away with! read more

After my exhausting day at Sherwin Williams the day before, looking at infinity shades of white, I knew I was in for some fun when I stopped in here. Prime Kitchen, who I found from Yelp and hired for my 1st floor renovation, sent me here saying they had the best price in carpet and labor. They weren't lying! The minute Prime Kitchen asked me to call them, Jenna alerted Angel, who was able to stop by to measure the floor within the hour. It just worked out that he was in the area. The entire experience was seamless as I was able to head straight over after my floor was measured. The storefront was in an industrial kind of area that looked run-down, so I didn't have much expectation for top-notch service. Lesson learned- never judge a book by its cover! Yes, I'm shopping on a budget, but this place did not make you feel like you were also being shorted options. They were well-stocked with plenty of options and Jenna was super patient in trying to understand what I was looking for. We grabbed the wood flooring samples that matched all the wood I have in my home to have some context and went on to match carpet color. I set a goal to be out of there in 35 minutes. I didn't tell Jenna because I didn't want her to feel rushed. We literally finished the selection ON THE DOT!! This process could not have been any more seamless. It was great they also took credit card with no service fee so you can be rest assured you can earn some cc points at this place while you're enduring your renovation! After seeing pricing from other places, their labor and material cost is extremely reasonable. Additionally, they do custom rugs. You can pick out a carpet you like, in the size you want, and they'll cut it down and finish the edges for you. For something comparable that you'd find at a Marshalls for $300 they can do for less than $150. Of course if you select something more luxurious or wool, the price will change but a large sized rug for something like a medium-sized living room would be around that much. I'm definitely coming back to get something cut for my living room and family room. Highly recommend! read more

We were in the market for carpet replacement and installation services but needed to see what type of carpet options were available, the cost, and how soon the installation could be done. We had gone to another local carpet place which had a fairly good selection but the prices were more expensive by 15-20% in comparison to Off Price Carpet Outlet. When we arrived here, it wasn't a fancy place by any means but it had what we were looking for - a wide selection of carpets to choose from and generic to brand name vendors. The great thing also was they had huge rolls of carpet on-hand which we were told were cheaper per square footage if what we wanted was in-stock. A nice nugget of information to know was they receive new carpet rolls each week so their assortment is up-to-date. Josh had helped us from the get-go. He was super knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful with carpet recommendations. He gave us a few quotes and was very responsive with any questions we had. He was also able to setup the carpet installation appointment in the same week. Score! The initial estimator that came to the house and took measurements was a few minutes late for our appointment but that was ok since the folks installing our carpet were prompt and actually arrived earlier than our appointment time, which we appreciated. The installation process from start to finish took about 8 hours which is what Josh had told us as well. Ok, let me start by saying that I rarely write reviews, but this one is overdue and very well deserved. I've had hardwood floors for years but back in February decided to put carpet in my bedroom only, a very small job. We started our search online at all the usual carpet places and OMG, were we shocked, so expensive, even for just one room! Then I came across this place---and wow, do I feel pretty lucky that I did. We met Juan at the warehouse (not a showroom) and he helped us find the perfect carpet for our bedroom. He was honest about what would work, what wouldn't, the differences between all the types of carpets and quality as well. He knows carpet and flooring. They were super flexible on the installation, did an amazing job and the price was the best I could find, by far. My new carpet looks and feels amazing!! Fast forward to this past weekend when we had a short term renter leave our rental carpet in horrific shape, Juan came to the rescue again. I called on Saturday morning, he had his guys out to measure on Saturday afternoon and no joke, my carpet is being installed this morning (Monday) as I write this. He has gone above and beyond to help us out so that we can get the new renters in and doing it all at a price that is crazy reasonable especially since everything is SOOOOO expensive now. The reviews do not lie, people! This place is a great find. I had a small project where I needed a high traffic area recarpeted. I was tired of replacing the low quality big-box-store carpet that I used previously. A quote from a local flooring store was ridiculous. I went and visited Dominic and he was so helpful and friendly and I ended up with a really nice, high-end carpet at a much more reasonable price. The communication was great and even though my project was small, they never made me feel like it was less important. We had an issue with a door not closing properly which I did not notice when the installers were at my home, but I called Dominic and he sent them back out and they fixed it quickly. So we had some flooring put in late December and we've got some issues with the insulation and also quality of the floor (we got more expensive flooring). I have now contacted them three times to try to see how we can find a solution to our issues given that our floors are brand new. Every time I've called I have spoken to a nice lady who forwards my message to the gentleman we originally worked with and each time there's no call back. I ended up purchasing the grey Adura Max premium vinyl plank flooring. (They even gave me a sample for a few days to see how I felt with it.) The day of installation they brought 4 guys to do 800 square feet. The planks looked better than the sample and very glad I decided to do all new base boards for nominal fee. The installers were accommodating, super nice, and were so fast. They were done in 1 day and I was "floored". (I gave all the guys a little tip.) We recently contracted with them to replace all the flooring in a home (almost 2000 square feet) we recently purchased. They demo'ed all the existing flooring, then installed Luxury Plank Vinyl flooring that we picked out from their wide selection of samples in their showroom. The end result is amazing. Luxury Plank Vinyl is definitely the route to go these days if you seek to move away from carpeting and tile. It is superior to wood flooring in so many ways, is cost friendly compared to wood flooring, and looks fantastic once installed. The team from Off Price Carpet that did the install did a fantastic job and finished the demo and new install in 4 working days... right on schedule as they had estimated. No real lead time for the materials either as Off Price appears to have tight connections with supplier warehouses in northern California. The owner, Josh, is very personable, easy to talk with, and he knows flooring very well. He answered any and all questions I had before starting the work, which made me feel very comfortable with proceeding with them for flooring. The installation crew was polite, followed all our instructions for the install orientation and other details, and were friendly and courteous. if you are looking for new flooring, I highly recommend Off Price Carpet. Our carpet is now 5 years old and still looking good. We did 5 bedrooms plus the white remnant we had stitched into an area rug. It is still nice to lay on even after all the abuse of 3 kids. Over the years I have referred so many friends to this store and so far everyone has had a great experience. I have forgotten all the names of the people that helped us, but they must still be there because the last friend I sent just a couple days ago called to tell me how wonderful they were.... thus prompting me to finally write a review. They do a quality job, and on top of that... this place is cheaper than anything else I have found. I even sent one friend for a small remnant for a dog ramp and they just gave it to her for free. I would definitely go here again when I need to replace my carpet, but at this rate it will probably be years from now. I'm adding pictures that I just took today.
