Took Dad and wife to breakfast this morning to Off the 8 Cafe. Dad had not been here before today. He was amazed. He had the pork chops and eggs and was pleased he could not finish he got so much food. The service was over the top. And the ambiance is very simple and enjoyable. If you want a simple place to eat and be able to enjoy a breakfast or lunch give them a try. They are quick to serve and quick to bring your food and accurate.

We've been in here many times and the food is 100% good. We split a hamburger and french fries. The service from Lexi was amazing. The ambience is very clean.

Ordered the pancakes instead of toast and they were also sooooo good

We were traveling through and fortunately stumbled across the Off the 8 Cafe. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was so great. Every staff person was so friendly. The menu is great with lots of choices for everyone. We chose to sit inside, but they also have a lovely patio. My husband LOVED the extra large coffee cups I chose the Mae your own omelet and my husband had the chicken fried steak and eggs. Both of our meals were delicious. We would definitely recommend and will stop by again when in the area

Always really great service and the food comes quick. Simple menu. Both breakfast and lunch are great. The club sandwich or chicken wraps are amazing.

    3.00% Credit Card Surcharge

FOOD: We had the Patty Melt. It was very good, though I was not thrilled with the French Fries. SERVICE: Very Good. We had a very friendly server, who was fast and efficient. AMBIANCE: Nice. The place was quiet, with two opposite facing televisions on a non-political station, so anyone seated could see (but not hear) the televisions. PRICE: Not Good. Our Patty Melts, which were basically cheeseburgers on slices from a loaf of bread, were $17.45 and only included French Fries. The the meals were very good, however what we received did not justify the price. A similar meal at, say In-N-Out, would cost under $10 per person, include a drink, and there would be no expectation of a tip, saving nearly half the cost. To add insult to this financial injury, they added a 3.00% "Credit card surcharge" of $1.13. So, for two burger and fries combination plates with water to drink, we were out the door for $45.73, including tax and tip. Just not worth it.

Now let's talk food... the brisket was out of this world! Tender, flavorful, and just the right amount of smokiness. Paired with the coleslaw (so fresh and delicious) and their BBQ sauce that was sweet but not overpowering, the whole combo was dynamite. I even had to snap a "before" pic of the plate--and let's just say the "after" pic didn't survive because it was THAT good! They were out of dessert during our visit, but I'll definitely be back to try that cinnamon and lemon pound cake that customers around us were raving about. Big shoutout to Vi and to Penelope (I believe she was the cook that day) for serving up not just a meal, but an experience. The layout was super cool and very clean. I never knew this place was in Alpine but I found my new barbecue spot. Definitely come and support as they are a hidden gem We'll 100% be back soon--thanks again for the warm hospitality and amazing food!

We were a party of 11 and we got a big booth so all of us could fit. I ordered a bowl of chili and had an Alpine Duet IPA. Im not normally an IPA drinker but this one I liked, it wasnt too bitter and I dare say I liked this IPA! Chili was great and hit the spot, was hearty and well seasoned, just what my body wanted. Ambiance was cozy and gave you a small mountain feel. Service was on point and no issues. Id definitely come back when in Alpine again, was a fun experience!

Then mixed with.bacon & cheese. It was a HOT bowl filled with ooey gooey goodness..... The hubby & I shared the steak sandwich. DELICIOUS!! Our salad was fresh & crisp. My bro seemed to have really enjoyed his meal too. Ryan was our server and did a wonderful job. He even put the Padres game on for us!! Perfect.... We had a really good time. Had such a great dinner tonight at Mediterraneo in Alpine!…read more We started with a few appetizers and honestly...they were the highlight. The MELENZANE RIPIENE (eggplant stuffed with ricotta, parmesan, and cherry tomatoes) was incredible: rich, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. The calamari fritti was crispy and delicious, and the TONNO ASIATICO (seared ahi tuna with sweet chili glaze, ginger, teriyaki, and wasabi) was a huge hit at the table. We also had to try their house-made mozzarella sticks, don't skip these...the cheese pull alone is worth it For the mains, we had the CAPELLINI ALLA CHECCA and the RIGATONI ALLA NORMA, and both were fantastic. You can really taste the difference, the pasta is imported from Italy, and it shows in the texture and flavor. My husband also ordered the margherita pizza and said it's the best he's ever had, which says a lot! The space itself is big, welcoming, and super versatile. There's plenty of indoor and outdoor seating, plus a large bar with a full menu. We tried a couple drinks from their spring menu: the pistachio espresso martini and the berry margarita both were so fun and tasty. The staff was also incredibly friendly and attentive, which really made the whole experience even better. Bonus: they have a great family-friendly area with arcade games and a pool table, which makes it perfect whether you're going out as a couple or with a group. Definitely a spot we'll be coming back to!

We've gone out of our way for years to drive to Alpine because the food and ambiance are truly exceptional. We've hosted parties here, attended celebrations here, and enjoyed countless brunches, lunches, and dinners. The Med has long been a staple for our family and for East County. Our daughters even ask to come for the bread alone. Unfortunately, our experience this evening was unlike anything we've encountered here before. From the hostess, to our server, to the owner, every interaction felt unfriendly and dismissive. The only bright spot was the bus staff--they were kind, attentive, and appreciated. The food remains wonderful, but the service was shockingly disappointing. There's really no other way to describe it: rude. We sincerely hope this was an isolated experience because this has always been one of our favorite places to visit.

Once the music got set up on the patio, it was so loud, you couldn't talk with anyone at the table. not a nice way to spend a relaxing afternoon with friends. but ok, we moved inside. The music, by the way, was excellent. So it's not that. Inside we had a server who seemed new or not very well trained. For a place that serves breakfast and lunch, it was odd that at 10 minutes before noon, we still could not order "lunch" items. but ok - pivot to breakfast. we placed drink orders and food. What came out was disappointing. we asked if the bottomless mimosas could have a little cranberry juice added. Server said not problem. What came out were cranberry mimosas, no orange juice in sight. when food came out, it left a lot to be desired. The avocado toast order was awful. plain white, grocery bread barely toasted with an avocado smash (container spread from the store or costco?) and dried grated parmesan cheese (like from the plastic container in the grocer) not as advertised and definitely not what one expects for this dish. The side of bacon was forgotten. The eggs benedict looked ok however the hollandaise sauce was barely existent and what was there was split. Making it barely edible. The other breakfast dishes were just ok. Biscuits and gravy looked good. lots of it and chunky. scrambled eggs and hashbrowns are hard to mess up. But for one person, the hashbrowns were pretty much cooked to a crisp and a lot of grease on the plate. that person left those to the bin. And had a hair on the plate. We had to ask for the bottomless mimosa to be refilled. The server took the glasses, and when they came back, one was orange, one was cranberry and THE GLASSES WERE REUSED! Unacceptable!! if the server didn't know, the bartender should know NOT to reuse glasses. Even if it is our own glasses, you don't reuse them. If you want music, average food, and drinks - this will be ok. The band was really good. The food experience was dreadful.
