Here, Rocco's super submarine sandwiches are delightfully five stars for service, taste and quality, while the Home Depot experience is humdrum and lacking redeeming qualities like human interaction. In my case, I visited HD for salt to lay on driveway and sidewalk. I promptly shelled out $30 for 50lbs of melt, without any human contact. No choices. No one around to ask questions to about it. Just pay at the kiosk and lug the heavy sack out to the car. This, compared to the friendly repartee with the behind the counter staff at Rocco's, not to mention the awesome aroma and enjoyment of its open kitchen floor show. Did I mention how good it was to mange that sweet sausage and sautéed pepper and onion? Delectable! Five Italian Stars.

I saw it come across my search a few times and didn't look into it. Just for the hell of it I glanced at the website to see if the had any interesting Sandy's. Better, they have Mex! It's a more limited menu than the restaurants around here, but seems to be a good representation of the most popular items with a few unique things too. I went with 2 standbys, flautas and empanadas. Both came packaged the same exact way almost, with the item covered in heaping amounts of fresh iceberg and queso Fresca, both came with amazing sauces, the tomatillo had chunks in it and was thick, the habanero was smoky and not too spicy. The empanadas were also covered on one side with crema which allowed most of the lettuce to adhere to it if careful. Crisp shells with a filling of chicken and a mild red sauce, loved them. Flautas were completely hidden under all of the lettuce, once unearthed I found 5 of them. Crispy and filled with shredded chicken. My only feedback would be to add a bit of diced tomato, which I'll just ask for in the future or use my own. Both items I'll order again. There are only 2-3 tables and one was taken by some gentlemen eating breakfast, which looked good too. While I'm curious about the sandwiches and breakfast items, I'm coming back soon for more Mex. I was coerced by the kind waiter not to order my first choice of entree, I went with a chicken chimi and again, not even a gringo restaurant worthy version . After that visit I wrote this place off as there are several better ones closer to home. I returned again due to a recent search for the best breakfast burritos in this area . I ordered a bacon burrito with light sauce. It was good, very small in stature and not very much egg. If I grabbed this from a fast food place I might think I found the holy grail( for half of this ones price) but it wasn't even served with containers of salsa. I was pleased to see that they had my favorite fresh fruit drink, Tamarindo, so we were off to a good start The chicken tortilla soup had a good flavor, but it had no tortilla strips in it, and I had to ask for them. It also had pieces of corn and other veg in too. I know every family has their own version, but I wondered if my new to the job server brought me the wrong soup. It was good, but it was an unusual departure from my experience with the many, many chicken tortilla soups I've had elsewhere. The meal was more than taken to a new level with the main dish, which was by far, one of the best chili rellenos dishes I've had in the area. The chilies and cheese were good in themselves, but it was the red sauce that was the real star of the plate--not super spicy, but spicy enough and super flavorful. Chili rellenos have always been my litmus test for a Mexican place, and this one definitely passed the test. Along with the chilies, there was a choice of pinto or black beans, which is great, because most of the places around here seem more black bean centric, and I grew up on pintos. I would 100% return for this dish. The next visit was for breakfast, and I had the famous Huevos Rancheros, and they lived up to expectations. The excellent pinto beans provided a base for perfectly cooked eggs and a very good house made sauce. If you're expecting the melted cheese covered mess seen in many places, then you're in for a treat. The dish came with a side of potatoes, and they gave me the option of deep fried home fries. I don't like home fries as a rule (they're boring, hash brown wannabes), but the deep fry gave them flavor and a crispy outer layer, something lacking in most home fries. There were a handful of burned ones, but they died for a good cause. Our other dish was a very good California Benedict with a healthy serving of avocado, bacon, and two more correctly cooked eggs. I don't know, but getting an over-easy egg seems pretty hard to get right sometimes, so it's always a small victory when it actually happens. Service was attentive on both visits, and the inexperienced server from my first trip was assisted by a more experienced one midway through the service. Both breakfast plates and the main lunch dish I tried were absolute winners and worthy of repeating. The chicken tortilla soup didn't set my heart aflame, and I wouldn't get it again except to see if it's the same.
