My family and I were visiting the nearby farm for our Christmas tree and we were all pretty hungry and there was no food to be had and then I found Woody's. What an amazing find this place is! I only wish that they were closer to me so I could come here a few times a week ! The coffee is really good, the breakfast I had was fantastic, a western omelette with the most amazing home fries I have ever had, and I do not say that like lightly at all, these were wedges that were well seasoned, and then cut in such a way that they had Spaces that flavoring and texture would creep into making each bite slightly crispy and dense, but flavorful and overall pretty light in the mouth, considering that their potato wedges I could not get enough of these and I'm a diabetic. I really chose my carbs well at this meal they were totally worth it. I am absolutely coming back. This place is fantastic and my waitress gosh I wish I remembered her name. She was wonderful. We had a Greek salad with chicken, a tuna melt with onion rings, pancakes and bacon, and the red white and blue waffles. The salad was enormous! The waffles were piled high with fresh fruit. Woodys is the heart of this small town. It's the local go-to for breakfast or lunch. It's the small town gathering place where you see the locals or bikers passing through town. It's small inside, the food is good and for some reason many things come with fries. Like I had chicken and waffle(and it came with fries?)$16.99 it was good but the waffle was ice cold for some reason and didn't come with butter, but there were fries so I'm good. Like everywhere prices seem a bit steep for breakfast/lunch in a hole in the wall like this, but it's not too bad. I'd go with basic breakfast here, there is a separate breakfast menu available so ask for it if you only get handed a lunch menu. Good service and friendly people. Could be crowded at peak breakfast or lunch time. There are some stores along the main street but for some reason on a Wednesday every one of them was closed including the bakery. Definitely could be a twilight zone episode filmed in this town. read more

2 stars for the many mistakes with my food, only the fried eggs and the bacon were good. The home fries were tasteless and were just hunks of fried potatoes, no seasoning, no sautéed onion or any other vegetable. yuck. I asked for them to be browned, after previous visits yielded barely cooked potatoes. Today they were like burned rocks. I also ordered a plain Belgian waffle. it came undercooked, barely warm with powdered sugar all over it. I sent it back and it came back warm not hot, undercooked and rubbery. To their credit the watier did not charge me the listed price, $8.00 (!!!) The waiter was polite, yet disinterested, in an empty restaurant at 3 pm, and she failed to remedy the pile of food and liquid left on the floor under the table by a previous diner. I came to Woody's today to screen them as a place for lunch catering for an upcoming conference. I cannot possibly recommend them for this. read more

In town to visit family, we went here twice. The staff, the restaurant, and the food were all top notch. My Dad liked it so much that he fell in love with the small town, and daydreamed of moving there and eating at Woody's every few days. Its definitely worth a walk down main street to see the houses and the rhododendron in bloom We sat outside on a beautiful sunny day. The waitress came out right away to ask if we wanted coffee. Their menu includes eggs, omelets, pancakes and french toast My boyfriend got the egg burrito which was filled with potatoes and sausage. It was yummy. This is my go to cute town spot for lunch to go with my mom or both of my parents. I always order a BLT on white bread with either chips or onion rings on the side. Their onion rings are GOOD! The service is usually quick and pleasant here. It is cute and cozy inside (small with maybe 10 tables and a small few seat breakfast bar seat area). I love to go here when the weather is nice and then hit the ice cream spot next door- what a great combo. The only suggestion I have is to keep a better eye on the cleanliness of the corner table by the door as it often times has dead bugs/flies and some food left on the window will area. I understand that by the window bugs tend to thrive, but a quick vacuum and broom sweep can make this spot a better one. I used to love sitting by the window, but I don't anymore due to this. We got off the highway and stopped at another place but it was only a pickup spot with no seats and really did not look very clean so w3e drove on into town where we spotted Woody's. What a gem. It's kind of old and looks run down but the food is very good and reasonably priced. I got the Thanksgiving with turkey,.lettuce,tomato,onions, cranberry sauce and mayo. It was huge and came with fries that were absolutely delicious.. good and hot and crispy and mushy in just the right spot. Wonderful experience. We were greeted and seated immediately upon entering. The staff was all very nice as the owner visited every table while we were there to check in with customers. Menu had typical breakfast fare and all sounded good. My wife and I both had 2 eggs with home fries. My wife always always always asks for extra crispy home fries and almost never gets them - she did at Woody's. I enjoyed the coffee my wife felt it was a little bitter. She got English muffin and I got "woody's roll" which was also very good and worth the 50 cent up charge. For anyone wondering what a woody's roll is - I had to ask - it's made on the premises. I have never had a bad meal at Woodys. I have been there many times and have been happy with every meal. The only bad thing is settling on what to order... so many great choices. The staff is very friendly and attentive. Always checking and to see if you need anything. Woodys is a staple in Allentown. We visited this week and my husband ordered the ham salad on Woody's bread. It is my husband's favorite. the ham salad is chopped small with nice seasoning including a bit of relish and onions. ask for it on Woodys bread... always fresh and delicious. You can also order a quarter pound half pound or pound to go.... And we do it every time we visit. I ordered the pecan and banana pancakes. They were fabulous. The pancakes were nice and fluffy and they gave you three big pieces. The pecans were candied and paired nicely with the bananas. Of course you can never go wrong with a side of bacon... Crispy and delicious. My sister ordered the Gobbler....which is Thanksgiving on a plate. Texas toast, stuffing, oven roasted turkey, gravy with a side of cranberry sauce. everything tasted so fresh I believe the turkey is cooked in house. Sweet as pie owner and staff. It not only states free refills on coffee but they come around frequently with a coffee pot in hand and offer to refill your mug along with everyone else's! Homemade corn beef hash! It was almost all corn beef with squares of potatoes, green peppers and onions to round it out. Absolutely delicious along side my three perfectly cooked sunny side up eggs. Perfectly cooked means the yolks were beautifully set but completely runny so I could sop up every last drop with my rye bread toast. We've been here a couple of times now and we love it. If you sit outside you get a nice streetside view of beautiful Allentown, and if you eat inside you get a charming café setting with either tables or you can sit at the counter (room for 5, plus a TV). As far as the food goes, my favorite breakfast item is the kielbasa omelette. My husband really liked their chicken fajita omelette. For lunch, the jalapeno burger was really good, and I heard that the cheesesteak wrap was also great. The lunch menu is pretty extensive, so I've got a lot of things to try here. One thing I keep meaning to try is the banana milkshake. Three good things about Woody's: the portion sizes are generous, the prices good, and the staff is very friendly and attentive. read more

Charming local cafe. On our road trip we stopped by for lunch and so glad we came across this little gem. Ambiance was sweet and homey, service was very friendly and prompt, and food was delicious. I started with the special daily cup of soup, corn chowder with a small corn muffin. Soup was delicious, I'm a bit of a soup snob so it was very flavorful!
