Village Pantry Deli has an old school charm about it, it's a mini grocery store/convenience store that makes Mexican food staples like tacos, burritos, and tortas. They also make breakfast sandwiches. I tried the Al Pastor tacos, which were so good! It's 3 tacos for $11.99 and they're quite filling. The pork was so flavorful, and you get a mild green sauce and lime wedges as accompaniments. The building isn't historic and the employees were friendly. Was driving through west Windsor , and wanted to have a coffee badly. This was the only deli in the vicinity . Donno why there are no coffee shops or deli in this area . Right on the road .. couldn't find parking from front side . Went to rear and had parking . Nice parking facilities. Coffee was soooo sooooo watery. Could hardly taste any coffee . also got some snacks which was a bit costly... coffee wasn't that expensive but tasted very normal . Had to pour the coffee out and get another coffee in Starbucks later . Couldn't get breakfast or other things .. very very average experience . read more

Came here for lunch today and enjoyed my food! Like another reviewer mentioned, I've driven past this deli for years without investigating further. Today, my wife and I finally decided to check it out, so we parked in the reasonably large lot behind the deli and wandered inside. This place is part convenience store, with tons of choices for soda, chips, and candy. They even had some groceries like bags of flour for sale. Anyway, I was just here for lunch, so after considering the menu for a minute, we ordered steak tacos (for me) and a roast beef sandwich (for my wife). The food was prepared to order so it took a minute, but that was fine - it gave me the chance to look around at all of the different candy available :) Anyway, our order ended up being $19.99 for the two items (not too bad!), and as probably mentioned by some other reviewers, it was cash only. My tacos were good! I enjoyed the large pepper (jalapeno?) they included on the side, and the tacos tasted fresh, with copious amounts of steak for the price. Honestly, I was stuffed after two of the three tacos, but I powered through (and I'm now kind of regretting that decision). My wife enjoyed her roast beef sandwich as well. I'm excited to go back at some point and enjoy a breakfast sandwich! The staff were professional and responsive throughout, by the way. I love trying out places like this. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is that the tacos were good but not great - there are one or two restaurants in the area that probably do a better job. But overall I really can't complain and would definitely recommend that everyone check out Village Pantry Deli! read more

I've driven past this place nearly every day for literally over a decade and had never stopped in. I'm not sure what inspired me to do so this week, but in a spur of the moment choice, I stopped in for some breakfast and coffee. The two gentleman working the store were friendly and engaging and encouraged me to fill my personal mug from the pots of fresh brewed coffee (which was surprisingly good!) while my chorizo breakfast burrito with being prepared. The rest of the store was filled primarily with snack foods and desserts that one would find in your typical 7-11, albeit in smaller numbers. When I got to work, I was very pleased with my selection. There was a nice balance of eggs and meat, and the jalapeños I requested added just the right amount of heat. There was nothing spectacular about Village Pantry, but it was certainly no worse than what you'd get from Wawa or 7-11, and given the choice between giving my money to a local business or a corporate entity, I'll go local every time. The only major drawback is that they are cash only. They do have an ATM on site, but of course it charges a fee, so keep that in mind! So, next time I'm craving a breakfast sandwich or burrito on my way to work and I have a few bucks in my pocket, I'll gladly stop back in. read more

Only had the breakfast wrap from here but it's by far the best around. I've tried three places after coming here and nothing compares. The best part of Village Pantry Deli is the old 19th Century building it is in. This was once a general store, and has been a commercial hub for a very long time. The old gasoline pumps are still out front from the days when you could just pull to the side of the road and fill up for 7 cents a gallon, and not worry about blocking traffic. Out back there is ample parking and a grove of picnic tables for al fresco dining. This has become a meeting place of bicyclists cruising this part of Central Jersey. It is close to Mercer County Park. I was just in for a coffee refresher, but was not impressed with the merchandise and food on the shelves of this tiny "deli." I did not have a sandwich nor an "authentic" taco, and those could be quite special. Maybe I will give them a go on another pass by. The folks inside seemed rather quiet, but that could be a good thing. read more

Passed by here a few times, the Authentic Mexican Tacos is what drew my attention. Stopped in and found 3 amigos waiting for food which was being prepared by 2 nice senoritas in the grill area. Ordered tacos Al Pastor and was not disappointed. Nicely seasoned pork and pineapple with cilantro and onions, salsa verde and a couple of lime wedges, but the whole grilled jalapeno on top of the order was unique and added some nice heat to the order. If you dont like spice, just get rid of the pepper and you still have a delicious plate of food. Not at all what I expected out of a small town deli, but if authentic Mexican is your thing, this place is worth checking out, just get there before 3 PM. read more

i've driven by this place 10,000 times. Something made me stop in this morning as I had a hankering for a breakfast sandwich. I walk in and I notice that the menu is partially in spanish. I ask if I can get a breakfast burrito. The bilingual gent working there said sure and asked if I wanted Jalapenos which of course I did. Simply put it was the best breakfast Burrito I've ever had in my life. Perfectly wrapped, piping hot and just the right level of spicyness. It was $5. I have lived in this neighborhood for close to 20 years and have not ever had the pleasure to visit this little spot. I pass by this place every time I go to visit my mother and kept telling myself I have to check this place out. My wife and I had the week off and decided to finally visit today. She, I and our older daughter got the tacos. My younger daughter got the burrito. All four of us loved it. Great taste without overwhelming heat and it was a lot of food for a reasonable price. The staff here is very friendly and appreciative of your business. I wish the world had more of these places as opposed to chain restaurants. This place is a hidden gem. Breakfast sandwiches are nice, but the Mexican food, especially the tacos are delicious, authentic, and affordable. It is not a restaurant where you go sit and have a meal with your entire family, as it says in the name, it's a Deli.
