While our food is almost always next to perfect this time was not a good experience at all and we frequent this place.. Between two of the servers, not sure which one but one of them stole my sunglasses off the table. They were approached about it and were quick say they hadn't seen any. I know for a fact they were taken from my table as I had laid them down to eat. We had only stepped down the ramp, not even off the premises before me noticing I didn't have them. Why Didn't We Find This Before?? Sometimes we just take off to explore East TN looking for things to do and places to eat. Today we decided to head to the Jefferson City area. Off the Hook popped up on our search, looked good on paper so we went to give it a try. Got there too early but the host/owner was gracious enough to let us sit in their large two-level outdoor seating deck until the kitchen opened. And we took the opportunity to try a couple of their excellent house specialty drinks (try Lake and Bake). Sitting under the large sun sails, sipping our drinks, and taking in the view from the deck of the Black Oak Marina, Cherokee Lake and the plateau was perfect. Getting there was straightforward from the Sevierville/Pigeon Forge area. Only caveat was when you turn into the marina, hang a right. The restaurant is separate from the dock/marina area. They have many events and on Saturday afternoon they had live music, mostly mellow tunes, island tropical and folk. Perfect for the atmosphere. After the kitchen opened, our server, Brittany, was courteous, helpful, and friendly. We started with the calamari. Perfectly breaded and seasoned in a good portion. I got the steak tacos, and my wife got the garlic parmesan wings. The tacos had a double taco shell with a wonderful sauce, and tender steak pieces. The chicken wings were perfectly breaded, moist with a garlic parmesan sauce that would not have been out of place on pasta or burger. Incredible experience. All the waiters and especially Brittany were attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. Once she found out this was our first time, she spent several moments discussing the menu and making suggestions. Which is good because they have a lot of things on it from entrees to burgers to tacos to wings and sandwiches. The prices were reasonable and in keeping with East TN (less than most of the eastern seaboard. The owner gave us a tour of the inside area (killing time until the kitchen opened). They have inside seating with 7-8 large screen TVs with a good-sized enclosed deck area that would be great in inclement weather. Good for a sports afternoon. If you're looking to get away from the crazy of Touristville and want to enjoy a relaxing view, good music and great food, give Off the Hook a try. It's a bit of a drive, but the countryside around it is typical Tennessee rural experience, green, lush and very, very country. read more

Well, I really wanted this to be a fantastic experience. Location is great. Nice view of the lake. Service was good. Prices were not bad. Food was just mediocre. Our table of four each had different sandwiches, a burger, a fried fish sandwich, nachos and not one of us said we would order it again. If I was cruising around the lake in our boat I would probably pull in for a quick bite but I doubt we'll drive there. Maybe some of the entrees are better but someone else will have to speak to that. read more

Fantastic place- it has indoor and outdoor seating with a view. Music was on, energy was high and everyone was friendly. UFC and other sports playing on TVs. Lots of parking too. Options for dining and having a beer are limited in Jefferson City, actually this may be the only option. We had a large party and they were pretty accommodating. This is clearly the spot to be. It's beautiful right on the lake and a casual atmosphere with some live music, corn hole and a lot of outdoor seating. We sat inside on the little porch, it was a bit dimly lit by the time it was dark, so I wish they had more lighting back there. The food was solid! I ordered the Sun of a Bun, it came with a skewer with fried jalapenos thru the burger, it was delicious, solid amount of heat and great flavor. The fries were ok, I wish I had gotten the onion rings they looked huge! Everyone I was with said how good their meal was. Service was very good and you can't beat the prices, $10 pitchers of Yuengling and I think the most expensive burger was $13 and it had like ribs on it or something. What a cute, easy going place with a nice view. The service was quick and friendly. It is also a plus when the employees look happy to be there. The menu options range from pub style to steak and seafood. It would be nice if they had some lighter, healthier options like a big green salad or fruit. This was mine and my wife's first time her at Off The Hook. This place is very inviting, the environment is really nice and the staff is really friendly! My wife and I both had wings on wing night which is on Wednesdays. We also had some Bluemoon to go along with our dinner. The food was very good. I would have liked to of had more sauce on the tradition wings. They also have live music here which is nice as well. It's not very noisy and provides an overall except experience! I would recommend this place to anyone who lives in the area or passing through! I have lived here for 2 years and my wife for longer and we had no idea this place was here until we started using yelp! Can't wait to go again. One thing I don't like is karaoke on Thursday's. My husband come here every other week or so either on Wednesday for .50 wings or Thursday for $2 drafts. The wings are really good but a little too saucy for my taste, although my husband thinks they are perfect. My favorite menu items are the chicken tacos and fried pickles. Tonight my husband got the mahi salad, which is said is okay. We get the same waitress every time we come here and she is really sweet and always does a great job. My wife and I stopped in here for lunch. It's a great setting. Its right on the marina with a great view of Cherokee lake. I had the catfish which was really good. Sometimes catfish can be mushy but not theirs. It was delicious. As were the Mahi tacos my wife got. We lived in San Diego for years where fish tacos were invented. This place definitely has it right. Is give 5 stars but the service is mediocre at best. It's mostly teenagers who would rather be anywhere else at that moment. You should check this place out. It's a good day trip destination if you live in Knoxville or Johnson city. read more

It was a bit of a drive off of hwy92 to get down to the lake, but it was totally worth it. There is some parking off the road near the sign on the road, but continue down to the right of the sign on the tree, there is plenty of parking below. . This is a great location on the lake for nice views. They have an outdoor deck, a porch with Windows seating inside, and a bay that seats 15. . The food. Everything is made fresh on site. The breading is crispy and tasty. They have a variety of tacos ( beef filet, mahi, chicken, and...,?). Even chicken wings are excellent. The most expensive item is a mahi mahi filet dinner,$19. . I sat at the bar and chatted with Andrew and Justin the manager. The staff is attentive and friendly. They could use more craft beer, but are limited on taps. Bells Two Hearted was nice to have. I would definitely return next time I am in the area. . They do not take reservations, but call ahead of you have a large group. read more

Definitely a place to visit, fun for the locals. Mostly pub food, tacos, wings, burgers but does have a few fish, chicken & steak dinners as well. Fries are really great, wings, shrimp po boy, mahi mahi tacos & burgers are my favorites. They have different specials throughout the week such as wing specials, etc. usually have band or entertainment on weekend so it fills up fast. Possibly a good place if you're drinking heavy and don't care about the food. From the time we got there it was a terrible experience. Maybe I am far too picky. But if I am taking the time to go out to eat I want a pleasant experience. There was no hostess seating people when we walked up so someone I believe was the GM asked the people in front of us if they had been helped up, but walked on by our group. I stepped over and told him we needed a large table for our group. Once we finally got seated it was a long time before anyone came back to get our drink order. Then as we were looking around we noticed TWO other tables seated AFTER us were being waited on. It was like 'OH well we have them seated so just forget about them' our group truly thought about leaving. I reckon those in the group enjoyed their Bloody Mary Drinks, Hamburgers & PoBoys but the fried fish and fried chicken tenders left a lot to be desired. From someone that Fried Fish & Chicken has paid their bills for years ; season the breading for the chicken (also the chicken was very tough and chewy ‍) and see if your distributor can get you some smaller filets OR at least cut out the mud vein. Also, please actually bake the potato, it was half way cooked. Again, had everyone had been half sloshed there probably would have been rave reviews from beginning to end.
