Was mad I ate most of this before I remembered to take a pic It was a pound of perch

Cute little bar in an area of Michigan I love. I drove an hour to check this place out. Went for the full pound yellow perch dinner. Can get fried or sautéed. I got 1/2 and 1/2, which I was glad the cook accommodated. The fried perch was good, lightly breaded... sautéed was good as well, a little burnt taste though, not the fish itself, that was cooked perfectly, whatever it was sautéed in, whether it was butter or shortening, was giving off a burnt aftertaste...will stick with fried next time. Good portion size for the money. Clam chowder was really good! ... hubs and MIL had 21 shrimp basket, that was not bad...good value... our waitress was great.. atmosphere was nice.. next time I'll try the walleye.. overall, this place was worth the drive.

This is what a well done burger looks like I guess.

Placed an order for carryout around 5pm. Ordered southwest burger deluxe well done, 3 sliders with American cheese w/fries, a not so slim Jim with onion rings, a cup of french onion soup, and off the hook nachos supreme. My daughter's fries were forgotten and so was the French onion soup. The server I dealt with was Kayla H according to the receipt. Don't know who cooked. The southwest burger was supposed to be well done, as you'll see in the photos, well done means red inside I guess... Complete fail. The only way I talked my wife into trying this place was the soup that they forgot. Picking the food up was a trip as well, figuratively and literally. 15 miles round trip. And when I got there, the bartender barely even paid any attention to me as she was completely caught up in conversation with a group of 5-6 patrons who were talking about throwing people out of there chairs and fighting in the parking lot. Glad I didn't bring my daughter with me. The language was pretty foul. Didn't know people were getting that drunk at dinner. Sign on door says please wear a mask if physically possible, yet not a single person other than myself had one. Including employees. I called to see if they could just refund the money for the forgotten items and they told me no. That they would give me comp drinks on my next visit... I've lived in the area for ten years and this is my second time visiting this establishment. The first time being completely honest, was wonderful. I still remember the woman who we dealt with last time and I wish she had been here this time. My bill with tip was $50. I should've went to Catch 22 instead. Now we know. The end.

Tristan and Hunter enjoying dinner out with mom and dad.

Good bar food, reasonably priced, facility a little run down. OK for a neighborhood bar.

We like coming here for dinner. It's a small little bar type place. Lots of locals here. No view of the lake which was fine by us.

Tons of TVs, but still clean and not grimy at all. Even the bathrooms were super clean, which I always notice. The food is good and the portions are huge. Everything leans a little pricey, even the kids meals, but you are absolutely getting your money's worth. The adult meals came with a straight up mountain of tots. I'm not exaggerating. Like... a pile. My son got the cheeseburger off the kids menu and it was honestly big for a kids meal. He was pumped. And $2 for a 22oz Coors Light all day? That's a win. Service has always been fine for us. Lots of younger girls working as waitresses and we've never had anyone rude or inattentive. Nothing over the top, just consistent and friendly. There are random pinball machines and games in the back which feels kind of unexpected but fun. It's a great spot to watch a game, bring the kids, or just hang out. Just know your bill might be a little higher than you expect, but you won't leave hungry that's for sure.

Dear reader, We…read morestopped into Parlay Detroit after the baseball game and to escape the rain, and it turned out to be a very solid move. The place has plenty of TVs, which made it easy to keep watching games and keep the sports-bar spirit alive a bit longer. The staff was pleasant and friendly, and everything felt easygoing in a way that suited the evening nicely. We got a few pitchers of beer at a great price, which certainly helped morale, and the French fries were an excellent bar bite option. From what others seem to enjoy as well, Parlay does a good job delivering that lively downtown game-day atmosphere without losing the simple pleasures of drinks, solid snacks, and a comfortable place to land. Overall, good postgame stop.

Wow... what a BEAUTIFUL restaurant. At first glance, as I…read morearrived at valet, I was genuinely proud to see this Black-owned brick-and-mortar in person for the first time. Unfortunately, I did not anticipate that it would also be the last. The valet attendant was attentive and professional, and the host staff greeted me as I walked in. So far, so good! The bar wasn't busy, but I figured it was still kind of early and things could liven up. I was meeting friends for a birthday toast, and they were already seated at the bar. When I approached, we were very excited to see one another, so naturally, we took a moment to catch up. I noticed there was one bartender in the service well who was busy making drinks and therefore understandably unable to greet me. There was another bartender conversing with patrons standing next to my barstool and another bartender on the far end. Now, as someone with a background in food & beverage, I naturally exercise patience in casual dining atmospheres because service can be a little laxed--which isn't necessarily a bad thing. I'm not expecting the bartender to teleport across the room because I walked in. However, in this case, after greeting my friends, we wanted to do a round of shots in honor of the birthday girl. After several minutes, we still had not been approached by a bartender. Not to mention, the bartender conversing just to my right was STILL carrying on with the same gentlemen patrons. After a continued wait, the birthday girl decided to flag down the bartender, who acknowledged us with eye contact... ...and then continued her conversation. Ma'am. That was very unprofessional, but we were in such great spirits that we decided to overlook it and try to get the attention of a different bartender. Now, hindsight being 20/20, we should've left right then. This same bartender, standing not even 3 feet away from us, eventually finished her conversation and walked away. She actually ended up standing at the service well in plain sight of us, where she then pulled out her cellphone to devote some obviously much-needed quality screen time. We were in utter shock. Within a few moments, the bartender originally on the far end of the bar had made her way to our side to take a new set of patrons' order who had just appeared to my right. Once again, the birthday girl calls out and asks if it would be possible for her to assist us when she was done. To our dismay, the lady looks at us with absolutely ZERO emotion and simply states, "Yea." Not exactly the response we expected, but hey... it's Detroit. We are natives, although I no longer live locally, so we know customer service isn't necessarily the city's strongest suit. ‍ After Ms. Dead Emotions prepared drinks for the new set of patrons, she followed suit with the previous bartender and walked over to the service well for some R&R with Screen Time Girl. And THAT was the moment we realized these bartenders did not come to work... They came to clock in. At this point, I decided to ask for a manager. The nice woman I approached asked me what it was regarding, and I explained what we had experienced and told her it was disappointing, to say the least. She seemed rational and understanding and offered to send a waitress to the bar to serve us. I thanked her and went back to my seat. It was obvious that the bartenders had been made aware of my grievances because their demeanors and facial expressions suddenly had a LOT to say. At that point, we realized training, support, and customer service may be an unrecognized area of opportunity by upper management. The server was busy with tables but eventually made her way over. She seemed very nice. However, by that point, we had decided we would leave. As we sat there conversing about this unbelievable experience and discussing other bars we could go to instead, a few patrons walked up to our side of the bar to introduce themselves and ask about our plans and whether we would stick around to have a drink with them. When we informed them we were leaving, they asked why. We gave them the short version as we prepared to leave. Sadly, they weren't surprised--but they offered AGAIN to make it right. Imagine customers offering to make it right. ‍ Just before leaving, one of our group stepped away to the restroom. At that point, Screen Time finally walked up and, exasperatedly, asked if we wanted anything. IKYFL. The birthday girl, who is sweet-natured, was understandably disappointed, so I decided, you know what? We'll take a shot for the road. A simple Don Julio Repo shot took longer than it should have... ...but the bill came IMMEDIATELY. And, of course, an automatic 20% gratuity was the cherry on top. At this point, all I could do was laugh. Beautiful restaurant. Great first impression. Unfortunately, the actual experience was a completely different story. WE WILL NOT BE BACK.

Our food ended up taking forever to come out so we were rushed to hurry up and eat and leave when it came out. For appetizers we got the chips and dip and salads. The dip had a long piece of hair in it and we immediately sent it back and the waiter looked at us like we were crazy for not wanting it. The salads were pretty good - big portion with lots of fresh toppings and dressing. For entrees we got the buffalo chicken sandwiches and the grilled chicken plate. My mom asked for no buffalo and it came with buffalo on it so she didn't love it. Mine on the other hand was pretty average. It was a large portion and had a good amount of toppings on it that altogether was very flavorful. I did ask for ranch on the side when i ordered and it took awhile for it to come out. The chicken plate was just about the only good dish we had. It came with a good spread of well prepared food and was a healthy option on the menu. The worst part of this experience was when we asked for bags for left overs the waiter told us to go get it ourselves so we had to awkwardly go behind the bar to grab it. Overall the service was terrible- everyone was rude. The food was slightly above average but with the hair in it and messing up our orders i would not recommend. Even though this is in prime location there are so many better options in the area. I could see this place having potential for coming for drinks with all the tvs or on the rooftop in the summer but thats about it.
