    Surf & Turf Fries

Stopped by this taco shop in La Jolla and overall had a really good experience! [[HIGHLIGHT]]The place is a little hole in the wall, but actually a decent size inside.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]It was pretty hot and muggy in there, so we decided to sit outside, luckily they had outdoor seating which made it super convenient.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We tried the piña and horchata drinks. They were okay, nothing I'd go back for, but they did the job of washing down the food. For our meal, we got the surf & turf fries and the surf & turf nachos. Both were tasty, but the nachos definitely stood out! I'd highly recommend those to anyone stopping by. Prices were pretty decent too, especially for the portion sizes. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Great flavors, casual vibe, and perfect for a quick bite in La Jolla![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

While the crowds flock to the touristy restaurants along the Main Street, those in the know take a short walk -- only about a block in -- to find an authentic local taco shop with all the regional favorites. We were in the area and were quite impressed with all of the food our party ordered. Our table had a tostada, carne asada fries, a shrimp taco, and a breakfast burrito with bacon. Food came out fresh, hot, flavorful and satisfying. Not too greasy and not too heavy, but serving sizes were just right. It's a small shop, with one hostess taking orders and one cook in the kitchen, and we got there right when it opened so there wasn't a wait, but as we were leaving more people started walking in so not sure how quick it is when busy. Caustion: The red salsa is HOT... but the salsa verde has a great flavor, and only a mild spice (if any). Overall a great taco shop!

Stopped by here after a visit to La Jolla Cove! We were excited to see they had such a huge menu. I got the Carne Asada plate and it was filled to the brim with food and a generous helping of meat! It was super tasty and it wasn't too long of a wait for the food, either. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The spot is very no-frills, but the food is good![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Parking is on the street.

I don't say this lightly, this might be some of the worst Mexican food I've tried. Flavorless and bland. Definitely not worth it. The only thing I could eat was the refried beans.

This is proof that corner shops will always have superior tacos. I ordered the fish and shrimp- both came very full of fish, topped with pico and lettuce. Tortillas were soft and didn't fall apart. This plus a short walk to the cove makes a day

Prompt and very friendly service! She recommended the fish battered taco and the carne asada taco. I got both tacos, and they were both very delicious. I got sides of salsa but they were delicious, moist, and flavorful without it. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Inside the restaurant was bright, spacious, and clean.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Would recommend to anyone in the area.

I truly love this place, but the prices keep creeping up. It's kind of crazy that La Jolla Taco Stand is so much cheaper, but it's true. $11 carne asada burritos before tax is just the state of things I guess. I've attached the most recent menu, because the prices keep going up. With that said, I still love this place, and still come probably once a week.

Raymundo's is fast, affordable, gives large portions, and is so delicious! Highly recommend any of the burritos, tacos, or bowls. Adobada and carne asada are my favorites here. Service is great too!

Tacos are amazing, being both packed with meat and incredibly delicious. Service was quick and excellent!

No flavor. Oily. So dried out beef

We were honestly blown away by the quality of the fish. We tried the tuna poke, and it was so fresh and delicious. It actually tasted even better than it looked! It looked like a smaller portion at first, but it really wasn't and ended up being very satisfying. We also got the seabass sandwich, which was fantastic. If we were locals, I could definitely see us getting this often. Last but not least, we tried the octopus, which was cooked wonderfully. We really liked that this was such a casual spot, and the person taking our order was so nice and helpful, especially for a newbie like me who wasn't familiar with the menu. We'll definitely be back next time we're visiting San Diego and would absolutely recommend giving this place a try!

It was filling and tasted healthy. There were large sides of yams and broccolini. For dessert, I got the Majestic (dense carrot cake with thick and creamy lemon cashew vanilla frosting). I liked the frosting quite a bit -- a little sweet, but not too sweet. The cake part was too dense for me; the texture was almost like that of a blondie (1 star off). For my drink, I got the Love smoothie (almond milk, coconut water, banana, kale, almond butter, date, and spirulina). It was hydrating and filling. I could even have it as a breakfast meal. The cafe is on the penthouse floor, at the top of the building. People are doing yoga outside of the cafe. What a great place to do yoga and get something healthy to eat and drink!
