She was so kind and gave me some products that has been so helpful with giving my hair more volume. After kids my hair and curls went flat and thin. The products are pretty great honestly. I asked Melissa to lighten my hair a little bit with single process color as I find bleach is too damaging, so she tells me there is no way to lighten my hair unless bleach is used (I achieved this result using store bought color in the past, so I don't know why a salon can't use a superior product to do same) BUT fine I say and she mixes up an ash color blonde telling me it will pretty much match up my roots to rest of head. Well, she applies the color and puts my under heat lamps for what had to be 35 to 40 minutes, this was obviously too long of process time for my fine, thin hair. She was preoccupied working on another client while my hair was frying...you would think they have a shampoo girl/assistant to wash the color out when needed NOT have a client wait with chemicals on their hair. Finally, she washed, cut and blew out my hair. First, I see the color is actually darker than my natural blonde color, but I let that go even though it was the complete opposite of what I was asking for. I also notice a lot of fly away hairs on top of my head, but she slaps on some serum and smoothes them down. So, the next day after I wash my hair and dry it I really notice a ton of broken hairs along the entire crown of my hair down through the shafts too. I have never had such DAMAGE caused to my hair before and to think this is a professional in the haircare industry is really frightening. Needless to say I will never give this salon another chance and I strongly suggest you stay away.

I made my appointment for a full head of highlights weeks in advanced. Val suggested I highlight my crown since the hair at the nape of neck had some breakage. I was ok with that but, she still could have given me at least a half a head of highlights. The breakage was minimal, at the base of my neck and unnoticeable. I told Val I loved her Instagram and wanted exactly that - icy white highlights. The colorist I previously went to made my hair orange and I said I am looking to avoid that. She nodded as if she understood what I was saying. I asked for a blow out when we are done but, Val said she didn't have time and was running behind. I don't know how that is possible since she just cut my appointment in half by only highlighting my crown and not my whole head. Throughout the appointment Val seemed preoccupied and was on her cell phone most of the time. She seemed like she was rushing not because she was behind but because she wanted to get out of there like she had somewhere else she needed to be. I left the salon with a wet head and paid $275 for my highlights in my crown area. When I got home, I blew out my hair and noticed I had brassy orange spots throughout. I messaged Val on Instagram letting her know and she became pretty defensive and unhelpful. She was arguing with me that the orange I was seeing is from the previous colorist, she said I could come in and she would put more highlights in. She said she would get back to me with a time and day .. obviously that never happened. She just didn't seem to care at all and the NEW highlights were done incorrectly. Below is a photo of the freshly done color by Val and my old color done 4 months prior. I also posted a photo of my hair after 2 washes - the toner/gloss is clearly not there anymore and the brass/orange is even more pronounced. Like I said this was my first time there and my last. I wish Val cared and took her time with my hair like the work she post on her Instagram but, I did not get that customer service.

I asked for ashy/silver blonde and left with 5 different color blondes in my hair, none of which matched what I asked for as a few pieces were even orange. PRIOR to even making my appointment, I told Maria my hair takes about 3 1/2 hours because I wanted to make sure the time allotted was adequate. My hair was done in two hours ( including cut and blowdry) and she even stated " next time we can go more silver/ashy". Pretty sure she knew the color was off immediately, but I personally can never tell with the salon lighting. That comment alone made me feel uneasy and I had a feeling it was going to be wrong. After looking in several different lightings and realizing how horrible my hair looked, I returned a few days later ( when my work schedule allowed) and Larry did a glaze for me. Unfortunately, but not to his surprise, the glaze did not help because the foil did not lift my hair where it needed to be to create the ashy blonde desired. I have been getting my hair highlighted since I am 13 years old and have had icy/silver before ( my base is also dirty blonde and warm so if done correctly, should be easily achieved by a professional). I called back to come in to get my hair re foiled as it was nowhere near what I asked for, but I think Larry already knew that. I was extremely embarrassed and unhappy with my hair and didn't even want to wear it down for the next several days . When I called back I was told I would need to pay for some of the service as "communication" was off the first time and it was going to be a lot of work. I was very direct and communicated several times that I DID NOT want my hair yellow/gold and provided photos prior to my first service. I am not sure how much clearer I could have possibly been. Communication on my end was NOT off and I felt like Larry was putting the blame on me for Maria's poor performance that day. To ask me to repay for what I already paid for is poor customer service in my opinion. It should have been done right the first time and none of us would have been in this situation, especially me. He saw my hair and knew it was nowhere near what I asked for so to place the blame on me was extremely uncalled for and his frustration was entirely misplaced. It was not my lack of communication that caused this outcome and I was very taken back and offended that it was portrayed in this way. After being totally disgusted by the outcome and then being told I had to pay for repairs, I cancelled that appointment. Not even ONE time did Maria reach out and apologize or try and make it right. It was all put on me to try and figure it out if I WANTED it fixed. You have to be kidding me! This is not how my situation should have been handled and quite honestly the salon should be ashamed of themselves for handling it in this manner. That's bad business. Her statement alone showed she knew the color was off after she blew my hair out, so accountability for her mistake would have been much appreciated. I felt my situation wasn't handled correctly at all as I was very open and honest about what I wanted. If Maria needed clarification, which I find hard to believe, then she should have asked. Although I wasn't charged for my glaze, I did leave a tip on the counter for Larry and the shampoo girl ( sorry I forgot her name) because I felt that was the right thing to do. However, the right thing for them to do for ME would have been to refoil my hair, FREE OF ANY CHARGES, if that's what was needed to achieve the DESIRED OUTCOME. My hair has never taken two hours to complete so I should have known something was wrong then. I believe the photos speak for themself so do with it what you will. The salon is adorable and the cut and blow out were nice, but the color is embarrassing and their approach to make it right was subpar to say the least. How does a stylist not even reach out to an unhappy client?! That alone just blows my mind.

Both the lady who washed my hair, and Brooke, the lady who cut my hair, were very friendly and knowlegable. They explained what they were doing and why they were doing it. The place seemed clean and the products were mostly Aveda. The only downside was that it was $22 for a wash and cut, and it could not be cheaper based on the fact that I had already washed my hair that day and did not need it to be washed again. Overall the price was average for the quality of service but if there was a just cut option I would have liked that.

I've been a customer since 2018. Excellent outs. Some bad experiences but overall positive…read more Yesterday ATM was down so my tips to blow out man and hair colorist were only about 15 percent. The man started counting my tips and made a nasty comment. I was very embarrassed. The manager listened near by and over. He was very nice. But the staff can be rude about tips very pushy sometimes and look at your tip then barely say thank you even if it is a high tip. I usually do 25 percent but they still seem Unappreciative.
