Interesting place. Very roomy inside but not much seating. The line outside is because there isn't much space inside to line up. The line moved fast too! Came in for coffee but it looks like 90% of the people in here had matcha drinks on their tables. The coffee was good though. They were sold out of the hand pies and so we decided to get food elsewhere. The Parking lot is a bit tight in a few tiny lot.
Offbeat coffee is great! The service was quick and the employees are super friendly. The food and drinks were delicious. If you're not sure if you like matcha, I suggest you try it here! Great spot! Love the vibe.
Ordered the twice matcha and the genmaicha with oatmilk. The drinks were superb as always. Today we also got the handpies which were so buttery flaky and filled with amazing tender meat.
I finally tried Offbeat coffee! It most definitely lives up to its excitement. For the long line outside, the service was really quick! I tried the twice matcha and added vanilla bean and it was the perfect combination. You cannot beat the Matcha foam, it's what makes the whole drink turn Magical. I love how flavorful and creamy it makes the Matcha taste. If you're a matcha lover or even if this is your first time trying matcha, this is a must try drink!
Loved their creativity and big ample space inside with not too loud of music. They are know for their matcha and hojicha but coffee is not missing anything as well!
Wanted to try this place because of the YouTube channel, Feed MeiMei. The Cold Brew with Hojicha Foam was delicious and was described perfectly by our front girl. The Black Sesame French Toast was fantastic! We also got the Date-Orange Latte and the Salted Honey Lavender Latte, both tasted great! Our three drinks took less than 10 minutes, and I think the French Toast took exactly ten minutes. Not long at all, and it was busy when we were there(11am). My order was to-go, and they were all perfectly packaged! I so appreciate the front girl answering all my silly questions, the efficiency of the team, getting to watch the man in the kitchen do his work, and the clean and inviting presence of the place. My daughter brought in her baby milk and spilt some, only for one of the guys to clean it up quickly. I so appreciate you guys!! There was a challenge, as I also spoke with the front girl about, but parking is competitive. All the parking spots were taken. Some parking spots were reserved for the neighboring businesses, so I found parking on the roadside. Is it possible to expand the parking lot? It's tough to give patronage to this great business with this challenge. I suppose it's a good problem to have when many people want to come here ;)
Stumbled upon this cafe and decided to give it a try on the way back to the Bay Area and thought it was pretty good! I got a hot matcha latte with oat milk and agave, and I also asked for it to be made extra hot. I would have preferred for my drink to be a bit hotter, but I think I've learned my drink temperature preference may be unattainable since I can't seem to get it at any cafe, so I won't fault them on that. The agave sweetened the drink up without overpowering, but I do wish the matcha flavor was a bit stronger. It's a really cute, aesthetic place with a good handful of seating. I could definitely see this being a cool space to get some work done or chat with friends. The workers were also really friendly and answered all the questions we had about their menus. Solid spot for matcha!
This place is worth all the hype! The line is usually out the door, but the wait usually isn't too long. I get the double-matcha and have yet to find a place who makes something like this better than Offbeat. Parking is really limited, so be prepared to drive around for a bit or park further.
Inject that Twice Hojicha latte right into me right now! The husband and I spontaneously stopped by for a morning drink and were pleasantly surprised by how unique this spot was! Their menu is simple, yet complex (in the best way possible). There are coffee drinks and tea drinks (matcha and hojicha). If you've never had hojicha, this is the place for a new morning tea drink! Previously, I've only had hojicha in Napa at the Oxbow, so it's not the easiest to come by. If I could describe hojicha, it would be matcha's earthier, non-grassy cousin. Love, love LOVE it. If you like matcha, you'll like hojicha. I opted for the Twice Hojicha and I could literally drink that everyday. The cream top hit the spot! Smooth and creamy. You HAVE to try it. 10/10 roll would recommend.
Highly recommend this spot. I tried the twice hojicha with whole milk and asked to make it extra sweet. So good! The creamtop is addicting! Will definitely come here again when I'm in the area next time to get my hojicha fix.
Offbeat is surprisingly spacious in the corner of a small plaza. As a result, parking is a bit iffy, but besides that, the cafe itself is really nice! We both got a twice matcha, mine with just normal whole milk and hers with oat milk. I personally really liked mine, and the matcha foam helped add some sweetness to the earthy matcha itself, which balanced it out very well!
I finally stopped by Offbeat Coffee. I've heard amazing things, but would always pass by on their closed days. I had a rare day off and made it a point to stop in to try them out. They have a parking lot but it's shared with other businesses and always seems to be full, however there's a good amount of street parking and I found a spot closeby no problem. When I walked in it was a lot bigger than I expected and they had a good amount of seating. There wasn't a line when I arrived, but that quickly changed after I placed my order and I feel like there was a steady stream of customers the whole time I was there. I was welcomed in and when I let them know it was my first time they recommended some items for me. I'm not a matcha fan, so I was more interested in trying their coffee. I ordered their date orange latte ($7), the twice hojicha ($7.50), and their simple avocado toast ($9). I had heard hojicha is a less grassy, more earthy/toasty version of matcha so I was excited to give it a try and see if I liked it more than matcha. Good news! Hojicha, at least the twice hojicha from Offbeat was delicious. I enjoyed the taste of tea and the aftertaste that matcha usually has for me wasn't there. I would 100% order this again. The date orange latte (iced) was also delicious and the flavors were perfect for our warm weather. The simple avocado toast had a thick piece of fresh baked bread with a generous layer of avocado on top. I don't frequently order avocado toast but it paired well with the drinks and is a great meal to start the day. I can see why this is a favorite for so many people and now that I've finally been in, I'll be back for more!
One of the best matcha places I've had in town. Their menu is so simple yet the quality and taste is so good. Came here on a Sunday afternoon. Parking lot is cramped so you have to kinda get lucky on a spot. There sometimes a line in front outside you have to wait. They don't want a line blocking the door so they make you wait outside until there's space. I got to order my drink while waiting in line pretty quick. I got the Twice Matcha ($7.50) and that was absolutely delicious. The matcha cream is sweet and mixed with the bitterness of the drink blends perfectly. There is plenty of seating inside. The interior is neutral with earthy tones. They even had cute blind box collection on the window. Only down side is that there is only one bathroom and it's takes so long. My boyfriend waited 30 mins just to use the bathroom. I even ordered my drink before he got inside.
If it's not already known, offbeat makes one of the best matchas in sac! The double matcha is so creamy and delicious! I also got to try some of the other drinks and honestly can't go wrong with trying anything from the menu. I mostly go on the weekends and there's always a line out the door. read more

This spot is super cute and is bigger than I thought it would be. There's seating but it was pretty busy when we came on a weekend morning. The parking lot was full by the time we left, but there's street parking. They're known for their Twice Matcha, so we had to get it. I saw this place on a list of Sacramento cafe recommendations, and I just had to try it during my visit up! There was a line as anticipated, but it went pretty quickly. They limit the amount of people in line inside, so everyone waits outside until the line shortens inside. I ordered the Twice Matcha, and I was not disappointed! I see why it's popular for a reason. We didn't wait too long after ordering, and the staff were super friendly. I definitely would come back to visit again if I'm ever in Sacramento! read more

One of the best coffee place i've been. From the aesthetic place to the minimalist design of their coffee shop is absolute best! Love the cafe mocha which is my favorite. The macha is a top notch! I came on a Saturday morning around 9am. There is a small parking lot. The line was not too crazy long at this time. The matcha foam on the twice matcha was so thick so I was pleasantly surprised. The drink was sooo good. The service was quick! I think they have a smaller menu to combat the long lines which is smart. It was very busy inside because there was a pop up pastry shop the day I went. We also got the sunny matcha and that one was disappointing. My cousins and I did not taste any bit of orange syrup, not even a slight hint. They might've forgot it for our drink. Overall, I'm happy to see Offbeat's business thriving! read more
I spent a Friday morning working here and loved the modern, minimalist vibe. It was surprisingly easy to grab a table (I've tried coming on a Sunday afternoon before and it was packed!). I went for the Saigon Cinnamon latte and my friend got the Mint Matcha latte, and both were the perfect amount of depth and sweetness. The only downside was the WiFi, which was a bit spotty at times, but overall it's a great spot to work or hang out with really well-crafted drinks. read more

Finally got to try this hyped up cafe during the Fourth of July holiday! They're located in a little plaza with a good amount of parking. Since it was a holiday, there was a pretty long line that extended outside. Luckily, the line went by pretty fast and there was also shade for the line outside. The interior itself is pretty spacious with plenty of seats if you wanted to hangout here with friends or study. We were pretty bummed out to find that their famous banana matcha latte was a seasonal item, but one of the workers mentioned that it might come back as one of their weekend specials! We opted for the twice matcha instead, which is their matcha latte with a matcha cream top. I understood the hype behind Offbeat Coffee upon my first sip of the drink! The matcha cream top was deliciously super thick and flavorful enough to drink on it's own. It's honestly one of the best matcha cream tops I've ever had. As for the matcha itself, it's not that sweet so pairing it with the cream top was perfect for my sweet tooth. Their matcha definitely has that earthy umami-ness, so I would definitely come back, hopefully when they have their banana matcha drink again! read more

Offbeat deserves all the hype! I've tried the Twice Matcha and Twice Hojicha and loved them both. The drinks really perfected the balance of drawing out the earthiness of the tea flavors while not being too bitter. The cream top is also so fluffy but not too dense to where you can't sip the tea from underneath. The cream top also adds just the right amount of sweetness as well! You can tell that the workers are a well-oiled machine, the drinks never take too long to make and they're consistently tasty! Also, I think the $7.50 price tag is fair bc of the quality of the drink. Great job, Offbeat!! read more
My favorite matcha spot in Sac. Their Twice Matcha is so smooth and delicious with oat/whole milk and the matcha cream top is just the cherry on top. Love the ambiance of the shop and how well spaced out their seats are. Plenty of seats along with plenty of open space. Staff is always friendly. But, I will never go here on my own. The parking lot is a burden to my soul and the line can sometimes go out the door. I will 100% temporarily endure that madness for my friends if they yearn for this matcha though. read more

I'm always so close to this coffee shop, but I start work before they open and they close before I'm off. After shifting my schedule slighly one day specifically to visit here, I managed to stop by first thing on a Wednesday morning. I expected I'd be the only one waiting for them to open, but three other people got out of their cars to head into the shop right at 7am. Service was good. It's an open area with table seating. The last time I had a hojicha latte was when I was in the bay, so I was excited to see they offer it here! I had the Twice Hojicha. The cream on top was sweet and tasted of hojicha. It was a smooth, creamy drink. Can't wait to try a coffee drink next time! read more

Vibes inside were nice! I got the hojicha iced latte which has a great nutty flavor, and I really liked it even though it's unsweetened! My parents got the matcha iced latte which was pretty good, but I think I would've gotten a shot of syrup with it. read more
Ever since the matcha craze took over TikTok, one of my favorite hidden gems has been absolutely packed. I mean genuinely... if you search up "best matcha in Sacramento", this place will be the top recommended place. While part of me is sad about the long lines, I'm genuinely so happy to see Offbeat Coffee thriving. I've been here twice now, and both visits absolutely delivered. My first trip was back in March during their soft opening, and I was so excited to finally try it. My friends and I ordered three different drinks to sample: - Saigon Cinnamon Latte - Hōjicha Latte - Matcha Latte The Saigon Cinnamon Latte wasn't quite my favorite, but I will say, if you love the flavor of Cinnamon Toast Crunch milk, this is basically that... with a shot of espresso. A very specific taste that some will love. The Hōjicha Latte had a deep, earthy flavor, and my friend who's a hōjicha superfan absolutely loved it. They've since updated their summer menu to include a Twice Hōjicha topped with hōjicha cream, so I'll definitely be bringing her back to try that one. Now... the Matcha Latte? Phenomenal. One of the best I've had in Sacramento. So good, in fact, that I had to come back just to order it again. Which brings me to this morning; I returned around 9AM to try the Twice Matcha. I had mine made with oat milk and a splash of vanilla bean syrup (I like mine sweetened) and it was even better than I remembered. Creamy, balanced, and totally worth the hype. One thing to note: now that they're busier, parking can be a challenge. You'll either need some luck catching someone leaving or try to swing by during off-hours. They also offer specialty drinks during the weekends, so if that's what you're after, I recommend arriving early to find parking and secure your spot in line. The interior is bright, minimalist, and super spacious. Think industrial loft meets cozy hangout. There's fun seating, lots of greenery, and a super chill vibe. With high ceilings and white light, it might not be the best spot for comfortable reading, but it's perfect for bringing a laptop to work or study with friends. If you're craving matcha, this is the place to go. You'll see why everyone's talking about it. read more
I've seen this place all over TikTok and Instagram, so I had to check it out for myself. I went on a Friday morning around 10:30 AM, and the line was already from the cashier to the front door. In my head, I'm thinking okay, this place must be good! When you walk in, it's a huge open space with super tall ceilings. The vibe inside is bright but pretty plain. Since they're known for their matcha, I was excited because I'm a matcha lover and make my own lattes at home every day. The staff was really friendly, and they made drinks fast. I ordered a matcha latte with oat milk ($6) and agave syrup (+$0.50) with light ice. They only have one drink size (12oz). The ice cubes are big square blocks, which I'm not a fan of. Even with light ice, my drink still watered down quickly and I usually finish mine within 10 minutes. The matcha latte itself was... okay. Honestly, nothing special. The color looked right, but the flavor just didn't hit for me. Pretty plain, like a basic matcha latte but the flavor just wasn't right . For me, it's a 3/5. I'm sure some people love it, but I didn't get the hype. Maybe I didn't order the right drink, but if they're famous for matcha, I expected it to be amazing. If I'm craving matcha again, I probably wouldn't come back here. read more

A friend had recommended that we check out Offbeat during our visit to Sacramento and I was honestly very impressed. There was a decent line when we went on a weekend afternoon but it does move fast. We got the twice matcha and twice hojicha. The matcha did not disappoint but it was on the sweeter side to me, or maybe that was just the matcha cream. It wasn't watered down and hits the matcha cravings for the price. The hojicha though was a bit lighter in my opinion, the roasted flavors weren't as prominent as others that I've had before. Overall, definitely worth checking out and I'll be revisiting if I'm ever in the area. Looking forward to trying their seasonal/limited drinks next time since I didn't get a chance this time around. read more

I stopped here on the way back to the Bay from Tahoe! It was around 2:30 and there was still a line out the door. I debated going somewhere else since it was pretty hot outside but I was determined to get a some good matcha and my best friend who lives in the area recommended this place so I trust her! We waited about 30-40 minutes but I can honestly say it was worth the wait! I got the Twice Matcha, and the first sip was so tasty. They reccommend drinking it without a straw so your first taste is the sweet, creamy foam, followed by the a true matcha flavor - soooo good! My husband got the Old Fashion Latte, which was also really good. Sadly, they only have one size... I wish I ordered two of the matcha! Definitely coming back next time I'm in the area! read more

Found out about this place through a friend and when we went, I just knew this place was going to blow up even more. It was already very busy when we went but I can see where the hype is coming from. Their matcha is hands down one of the best in town! I got the Twice Matcha and it was the perfect cream texture and sweetness level. A super cute coffee spot on Broadway! A strong recommendation to think twice before coming here on a Sunday morning like I did - the farmer's market crowds can really affect the parking situation! And the two times I've come (once not on a Sunday morning), queues form out the door! It is still very popular even several months after opening. Otherwise, I find this place alluring and comforting. I know, weird for an unsuspecting warehouse on a tight strip mall. The decor is quite sparse but embodies a cohesive cute vibe. The seating is all very flat, wood. While I did notice a couple of longer term patrons, my booty probably couldn't handle a couple hours in those seats, lol. The staff are all pretty young millennials or Gen Zs and they work fast and efficiently. Offerings: For both drinks, I believe the term "twice" indicates that the drink and the foam are both flavored. The foams are typically thicker than coffee or milk foam and are typically sweeter than the drink itself. - Twice Matcha: I can't tell the difference between the grades of matcha, but I can say that this was a tasty drink and I really enjoyed it. The foam especially put it above and beyond many other spots. I would recommend mixing the foam into the drink though - hope that's not blasphemous - to spread out the sweetness. - Twice Hojicha: I am a huge hojicha girly, and this place did not disappoint. Super friendly and fast service. This place is worth the hype. I got the twice matcha and it was delicious! Wish there was a little less ice so there was more matcha It's tucked away in the corner so kinda hard to miss if you don't know what to look for. There's plenty of parking but I could see it getting crowded quickly. There's tons of seating inside, it has an industrial vibe. A good place to catch up with a friend. They have a simple menu, a little pricey but definitely taste the quality so it's worth it. read more

One of my new favorite coffee shops! Not only are their drinks high quality and delicious, the staff are so sweet and the space is great! My favorite special drink is the banana pudding espresso, but I love that they rotate their weekend specials (follow their instagram to see what it is!). They've recently been super popular, so the line can be up to a half an hour wait. But honestly, if you have the time, it's worth it. Their matcha is exceptional too, and on Saturdays Pastry Cat pops up. Go early to snag a pastry, they're excellent! read more

The twice matcha is 10/10. The umami flavor is really present and the foam has a great sweetness to it. Also ordered the salted honey lavender latte, it is not too sweet and the salt is an underlying flavor. The matcha is definitely better but it's still good. It's spacious and clean in there. OFFBEAT COFFEE! What an experience! The line was completely out the door and we got through it so fast, so please don't let that discourage you! The staff were super welcoming and gave really good ideas on what drinks to get! We got the twice matcha and the orange matcha and both were delicious. Offbeat is now one of my favorite coffee shops. The moment you step in, you're greeted with a bright, open space with an industrial vibe that still manages to feel cozy. While seating is a bit limited considering how popular it is, it's clear why people flock here. Almost everyone had a matcha in hand, and after one sip, I understood why. I had the Twice Matcha, which is perfect if you like a sweeter, foamy matcha. My boyfriend had the Sunny Matcha, which had the most subtle hint of orange. It was a unique twist on a classic and so refreshing. We also got the financier, which had just come out of the oven. It was still warm, soft, and perfectly sweet! Service was quick and the staff were super kind, even with the steady crowd. You can tell they've got a great team behind the counter. It's a small spot with a big following, and now I totally get the hype. read more
Delicious matcha drinks in a beautiful space for studying and catching up with friends! I tried the Sunny Matcha, which was perfectly sweet and had a great citrusy flavor. The cashier recommended it over the twice matcha which is much sweeter. I like how they do not charge extra for alternative milks. I would love to come back and try their other drinks. read more
The line builds quickly shortly after the shop opens on a Saturday. There was one cashier taking orders and the line moves very slowly because he took time to chat with each customer, just make sure you have time to wait 20+ min to order and get your drink. I also noticed there were only 2 ladies making drinks that day so maybe the cashier was buying them some time. By the time, I got my drink, the line was down the store and to the door. Twice Matcha- the matcha cream was tasty, I'm glad I stuck with their staple. At the time, pistachio cream was offered to me as their new cream which was also pretty good. The matcha latte itself could be stronger, not bad but I expected higher quality for a $7.50 drink. read more
Let me preface by saying I am VERY new to the matcha scene. I've only tried a handful. In the last week I've tried this place TWICE. 07/24/2025 1st time arrived around 7:10a-7:15am (they open at 7a) There were maybe two people ahead of us. I got the Twice Matcha with whole milk and Vanilla Bean. 10/10 ! I usually get my matcha sweetened, but this one was delicious! In my opinion it's not too sweet and I can very much still taste the matcha. 07/27/2025 I was craaaaving this drink the last few days and my boyfriend went to get it. He got there around 1:50pm and said that there was a line out the door. We were on the phone the whole time and I'd say it took about 20 minutes for him to order and then almost instantly got the drink. Even after the 7 minute car ride it was a 10/10 when I took a sip. read more
Offbeat Coffee is such a vibe! The shop is super aesthetic, minimal, clean, and the kind of place that makes you want to stay for hours. It's the perfect spot to get work done or just relax with a good drink. I tried their matcha and an iced vanilla latte. I'm usually not a big matcha person, but theirs totally surprised me, it was so good! Smooth, balanced, and not overly grassy. The iced vanilla latte was just as good, creamy and not too sweet but nothing that wows you. Simply a good iced vanilla late If I'm ever back in Sacramento, I'll definitely be coming back here. My favorite matcha spot in Sacramento. The spacious interior is great for studying or hanging out. I enjoyed the sweet matcha foam on the Twice Matcha. My favorite drink was the matcha latte with oat milk. Stopped by on the weekend and the line was to the door, but drinks are made so quick that after I paid, my drink was already ready. Granted, I spent some time talking to the co-owner who happened to be cashiering at the time. Vivian is super friendly and made our experience at Offbeat 100x better. Fun fact, Twice Matcha and Hojicha were actually named after the kpop group Twice. So funny because as my friend and I were waiting in line, we were joking that we were going to order the drink based on its name. read more
I walked in here, expecting to order my usual coffee fix. The shop was busy and everyone had a matcha in their hand. When in Sacramento, do like the Sacramentoans (?).... I ordered the twice matcha and it's one of the best matchas I've ever had. Full flavor, smooth, and the matcha cream top was perfectly sweetened. It was magical. This place is going to be a must hit for me every time I'm up in Sacramento. I also want to try the twice hochija. The pastry is fresh baked in the morning. There is a big parking lot but all the spaces were taken because this shop is busy. Street parking available and I had to brush up on my parallel parking skills. Casual. Good service. Another adorable coffee spot in Sacramento! This one is located off broadway in a strip mall! I came for the first time around 9 am and there was already a line! I've been seeing so many videos of people saying this is the best matcha in town! I had to give it a try for myself! I got the double matcha and dang it was delicious! It was sweet, creamy and tasted perfect! Definitely one of the best places to get matcha in Sacramento! The inside is cute it's giving an industrial feel and it's really big! They have places to sit and work or chat! The menu also has a variety of other drinks besides matcha and also a daily special! I can't wait to come back and try more drinks! Like probably many of us, we've seen this all over Instagram or TikTok, and yes that is what led me to check out this spot. I went on a Wednesday and it was not busy at all. The parking lot is pretty tight, but I was lucky to find a parking spot. So I hope, whoever is reading this, you find a spot when you go! The inside is pretty spacious. A very open space but with only limited amount of seating. It's like it was anticipated for them to have such long lines so there's a good amount of entrance space. The way this coffee and tea shop looks like reminds of the setting from the book "Before The Coffee Gets Cold." It's a pretty aesthetic coffee shop with its bare walls and very minimal decorations using plants and random things like Lego, Labubus. Their menu is simple and straightforward. I ordered their Twice Matcha and Yelp Elite Dario O. ordered the Mint Matcha. Both iced. The Twice Matcha is what a majority of people are raving about on social media, but a Matcha has always been my go-to drink at coffee/ tea shops, so of course I ordered that. To me, it's not a "hype," their Twice Matcha is 100% worth getting. It tasted authentic. It was earthy. It was creamy. It was what I hoped their matcha to taste like. The Mint Matcha was also a yummy drink! It was a perfect balance of the two flavors, and not one flavor felt like it was too much or too little. I enjoyed being able to taste the minty/ refreshing taste mixed with the down to earthiness from the matcha. went on a saturday morning. this was my second time and both times the line went out the door. dont be fooled though, this is mainly because they keep the line inside short to prevent blocking seating. inside is super vibey, very modern. kinda loud though, so studying could be a hit or miss. not too many large tables, mostly smaller ones for your drinks -bsl coffee(3/5): just tasted like a standard fall spice drink -twice matcha (4/5): good quality and strong. the cream is sweetened but the drink isnt -twice hojicha (4/5): same as the matcha overall a solid coffee/matcha shop with good vibes. would return read more
I have been wanting to try this place since it got so popular! I went on a Friday afternoon, and there wasn't a line, however, it gets pretty busy on the weekends with the line going out the door. The parking lot is small, but there is a lot of street parking nearby. There are also lots of tables and free wifi, so it's a good place to do work. I got a Twice Matcha (matcha latte with a matcha foam) with oat milk. I also added agave since the it comes unsweetened. I first tried the matcha latte with a straw to see how the matcha by itself tasted like. Even with the sweetener, it was not sweet and it tasted pretty watered down in my opinion. After tasting the matcha on its own, I mixed in the matcha foam and tried it again. I was surprised by how good it tasted after mixing in the foam since the latte by itself tasted pretty bland. The matcha foam is pretty sweet, so I don't think the agave was necessary. It also had a lot more matcha than I expected so it brought more matcha flavor to the drink. I went a second time on the weekend and got the same drink but without agave. It tasted pretty milky to me even after mixing in the cream, so I think their drinks aren't really consistent. Overall, I think this is probably one of the better options to go for matcha in the Sacramento area. I would definitely go again, and hopefully they get more consistent with their drinks. read more
