They have a cut off inside to preserve the customer experience, and the sign outside says to move in once people have moved up past the cut off. It is annoying waiting outside watching all the people who can't read walk in and try to get in line though, like, hi, I'm not standing behind this clearly signed line for my health. I obviously want drinks. Since the first time I went, they've updated their menu quite extensively. If you're into coffee, get the cold brew with the hojicha foam. If you're not a coffee person, the twice hojicha foam is where it's at. Honestly, anything with hojicha foam, get it. I dream about it every other night. It's so good that my to-go drink is generally almost gone by the time I'm walking out the door. It's the perfect amount of creamy, sweet, nutty hojicha. Stopped by Offbeat Coffee for the first time and honestly, it was a great experience. I got an iced latte and a double matcha latte, both were really good. You can tell they use quality ingredients, and everything was made just right. The matcha especially stood out, smooth, not too sweet, and had that earthy flavor that hits perfectly. The place itself was super clean and had a nice vibe to it, modern but still cozy enough to hang out for a while. It's the kind of spot where you can chill with a drink, catch up with a friend, or even get a little work done. The customer service was friendly and welcoming, which always makes a difference. Finally got to come and try this place after seeing so much hype about it online. This spot is easy to miss because it's tucked in the corner of a small strip of shops off Broadway. Parking can get a bit tricky because of this too. I came on a Friday morning and it was pretty busy. All the seating inside which is kinda limited was filled and I waited maybe 10 minutes to get to the front. The menu is very simple just like the interior. The cafe has a minimalist and slightly industrial design but it is very light - both in color and the amount of light. Theres really tall ceilings which help it feel more spacious. There were people studying/working, hanging out talking, and others filming the infamous matcha being made. This isn't a cozy cute spot if that's what you're looking for. I ordered the twice matcha which everyone seemed to be getting and a cortado. The twice matcha was super good because of the matcha cream top. The cream top is velvety and rich, it is sweet but not sugary. This cream top is so so good and when it mixes with the matcha latte it creates the perfectly not too sweet but sweet drink. I'm not sure if the matcha latte by itself will be as good to me but I'll have to try it. The cortado was good as well, strong but had a nice flavor to it. I was curious to try the Twice Matcha and Twice Hojicha after seeing a lot of praise on social media and Offbeat delivered! We got both drinks with oatmilk but it is important to note that the foam tops are made with dairy as noted on their menu! The cream tops were very delicious and smooth and provided most of the sweetness for both drinks. I enjoyed mixing it in which gave the drink a more creamy texture and a nice sweetness level. It was definitely sad to finish up the cup but if you can find a seat on a weekday, it's a very nice place to study because it's quite spacious. I finally got to try this place! I've driven by before with lines out the door and didn't want to wait yet alone find parking. I went on a weekday late morning and it was still pretty busy but not as busy compared to the weekend. The parking lot was full but I got lucky and snagged street parking up front. The line was up to the door but at least inside. It did go by pretty quickly. Staff is very efficient! All the seats were taken so I just took my drink to go. I've been wanting to try their matcha for the longest as I keep hearing its one of the best in Sacramento. I ordered Twice Matcha and it was delicious! I loved the matcha cream top. It added just the perfect amount of sweetness to the matcha latte. I really enjoyed the matcha quality. Lived up to the hype for me. Essentially these are Offbeat's take on the "double matcha latte" feat. a decadent cream top designed to slurp from the cup rather than sip from a straw. What's unique about this place is they use Rocky's ceremonial matcha, a top-name US brand sourced from Japan that comprises a blend of 4 cultivars, for a very balanced yet vibrant flavor profile that's perfect for both beginners and seasoned matcha aficionados. Pretty poppin each time I've been on a weekend with lines out the door even after noon and can be quite tough to snag a table (esp if you're coming with a group larger than 2) unless you're proactive... tbh it seems to me like they should add a couple more tables because it's pretty spacious inside and there's plenty of empty unused space. On the bright side, they have a pretty efficient, well-oiled work flow (check out the row of ice-filled cups and their hand-whisking speed) and drinks always come out in a timely manner. Despite there being a dedicated lot, parking can be tough to find because it fills up FAST and people tend to stay for awhile rather than just grab and go. Me and my sister both got the iced double matcha. She asked for no ice (she's picky about ice levels) while I didn't make any customizations, and I noticed that her matcha was filled to the top while mine was 1/8 empty. It's not noticeable in the picture, but just something to keep in mind. We've been to Offbeat multiple times because we heard good things about their matcha. I would say that the quality is really good, but a bit pricey for the amount you get. I do understand that there's a matcha shortage so matcha is getting more expensive, but I was surprised at how small the cups were. I also noticed that the matcha isn't always consistent. On some days, I get the most amazing and smooth matcha I've ever had with the perfect amount of sweetness and earthy notes. On other days, I can taste the matcha powder (thinking that it hasn't been properly mixed in with water) and it isn't fun to suddenly drink a big clump of matcha. Finally got to try this hyped up cafe during the Fourth of July holiday! They're located in a little plaza with a good amount of parking. Since it was a holiday, there was a pretty long line that extended outside. Luckily, the line went by pretty fast and there was also shade for the line outside. The interior itself is pretty spacious with plenty of seats if you wanted to hangout here with friends or study. We were pretty bummed out to find that their famous banana matcha latte was a seasonal item, but one of the workers mentioned that it might come back as one of their weekend specials! Ever since the matcha craze took over TikTok, one of my favorite hidden gems has been absolutely packed. I mean genuinely... if you search up "best matcha in Sacramento", this place will be the top recommended place. While part of me is sad about the long lines, I'm genuinely so happy to see Offbeat Coffee thriving. I've been here twice now, and both visits absolutely delivered. My first trip was back in March during their soft opening, and I was so excited to finally try it. My friends and I ordered three different drinks to sample: - Saigon Cinnamon Latte - Hōjicha Latte - Matcha Latte The Saigon Cinnamon Latte wasn't quite my favorite, but I will say, if you love the flavor of Cinnamon Toast Crunch milk, this is basically that... with a shot of espresso. A very specific taste that some will love. The Hōjicha Latte had a deep, earthy flavor, and my friend who's a hōjicha superfan absolutely loved it. They've since updated their summer menu to include a Twice Hōjicha topped with hōjicha cream, so I'll definitely be bringing her back to try that one. Now... the Matcha Latte? Phenomenal. One of the best I've had in Sacramento. So good, in fact, that I had to come back just to order it again. Which brings me to this morning; I returned around 9AM to try the Twice Matcha. I had mine made with oat milk and a splash of vanilla bean syrup (I like mine sweetened) and it was even better than I remembered. Creamy, balanced, and totally worth the hype. One thing to note: now that they're busier, parking can be a challenge. You'll either need some luck catching someone leaving or try to swing by during off-hours. They also offer specialty drinks during the weekends, so if that's what you're after, I recommend arriving early to find parking and secure your spot in line. The interior is bright, minimalist, and super spacious. Think industrial loft meets cozy hangout. There's fun seating, lots of greenery, and a super chill vibe. With high ceilings and white light, it might not be the best spot for comfortable reading, but it's perfect for bringing a laptop to work or study with friends. A super cute coffee spot on Broadway! A strong recommendation to think twice before coming here on a Sunday morning like I did - the farmer's market crowds can really affect the parking situation! And the two times I've come (once not on a Sunday morning), queues form out the door! It is still very popular even several months after opening. Otherwise, I find this place alluring and comforting. I know, weird for an unsuspecting warehouse on a tight strip mall. The decor is quite sparse but embodies a cohesive cute vibe. The seating is all very flat, wood. While I did notice a couple of longer term patrons, my booty probably couldn't handle a couple hours in those seats, lol. The staff are all pretty young millennials or Gen Zs and they work fast and efficiently. Offerings: For both drinks, I believe the term "twice" indicates that the drink and the foam are both flavored. The foams are typically thicker than coffee or milk foam and are typically sweeter than the drink itself. - Twice Matcha: I can't tell the difference between the grades of matcha, but I can say that this was a tasty drink and I really enjoyed it. The foam especially put it above and beyond many other spots. I would recommend mixing the foam into the drink though - hope that's not blasphemous - to spread out the sweetness. - Twice Hojicha: I am a huge hojicha girly, and this place did not disappoint. Super friendly and fast service. This place is worth the hype. I got the twice matcha and it was delicious! Wish there was a little less ice so there was more matcha It's tucked away in the corner so kinda hard to miss if you don't know what to look for. There's plenty of parking but I could see it getting crowded quickly. There's tons of seating inside, it has an industrial vibe. A good place to catch up with a friend. They have a simple menu, a little pricey but definitely taste the quality so it's worth it. read more

One of my new favorite coffee shops! Not only are their drinks high quality and delicious, the staff are so sweet and the space is great! My favorite special drink is the banana pudding espresso, but I love that they rotate their weekend specials (follow their instagram to see what it is!). They've recently been super popular, so the line can be up to a half an hour wait. But honestly, if you have the time, it's worth it. Their matcha is exceptional too, and on Saturdays Pastry Cat pops up. Go early to snag a pastry, they're excellent! read more
