The store is under construction or something. There is a sign that says, "we're open" though. I had stopped by another nearby Office Depot about 15 minutes before they opened. The employee who was waiting outside of the front door was nice enough to advise me of the Tyrone Square store being much bigger and having much more as far as selection. I showed up. At first it seemed there was nobody available to help. Usually I'm the type that gets annoyed by 'persistent' salespeople. Today was different though. I eventually got help from 3 people in the store. All of my questions were answered completely and thoughtfully. In my experience this is rare. I give it 4.5 stars. I really was impressed with the level of service. I mean, it was early and there weren't many customers, but it's still greatly appreciated. I couldn't round up to 5 because the appearance is a little, I don't know, 'messy?' Maybe not the best description but it is under construction. Also, the prices were okay, but not all bargains by any means. And I think there could be better selection on some stuff. Also, a peeve of mine is having to pay extra to warranty items. I mean, it would be nice to just pay a little more for quality merchandise and have the sellers and manufacturers stand behind it. Maybe I'm old fashioned. Or just old? LOL I don't know. Off my soap box! Anyways, there were lots of concerns but the service outshone all of that. I'll be back if I need more office supplies. read more

I've been there. They've always been nice to me. But reading online, seems like many people are unhappy with the way they operate. Yes, their stores need a "neatness visual" coach, because they're like the Dollar Store in respect of neatness. Maybe their employees are over worked, and unable to keep up with stocking shelves. TIL: Office Depot is not just a store your mom drags you to at the beginning of a school year, where you spend hours watching as your ~thoughtful~ ~diligent~ ~organized~ sister compares spiral notebooks and gel pens. Office Depot is so much more than that! My review will start with my online experience, though it is not store specific I believe it is helpful to note that the Office Depot online ordering site is really nice! The interface is a little clunky, still it's totally user friendly and the best part is I was able to submit a print job for order and pick-up (they can deliver as well, for an additional 8ish dollars) without having to create a dang account/profile! PRAISE! And they will still send you a text message to confirm when your order is ready. My in-store experience was equally user friendly. There is a large pick-up area for online orders (thank you Starbucks/Panera for pioneering this time-saving innovation). I could have been in and out without talking to anyone...but we know that's not my style. Scott was friendly and helpful. He invited me to use the ~office center~ to complete my project.. Who knew?! Not me. But now I do! I used their large paper cutter and even a fancy shmancy pen. This printing experience was cost effective and efficient. I will certainly be back to use the services. Also, they recycle ink cartridges (I mean, obviously I don't own a printer with cartridges to recycle, but you might and now you know). read more

This review is encompassing my last 2-3 visits to this Office Depot location. Let me begin with what I consider a serious "lack of knowledge sharing." Went to Office Depot online and right away a box down the bottom of page says "Military/Veterans Discount 20% off your qualifying, regular priced ....." I was medically retired from the UNITED STATES AIR FORCE in 1980! I have never received a military discount from Office Depot. Now, I might just be getting grumpier as I age but I am sick of cashiers yelling, (or saying it so softly person might as well SHUT UP) "Welcome to Home Depot." If you are saying it because you boss ORDERED you to please save your breath, you might need it. So they make said statement but with NO OTHER CUSTOMERS in the store why not follow with "do you need any help finding something." Instead, last time, about 2 weeks ago, in an empty store other than cashier who said "welcome..." One alleged OD employee is standing there playing "pocket pool" or whatever watched me walk up and down about 4 aisles without saying a word! DUH?!? Hey Einstein, get a clue doesn't it appear that I am not finding whatever it is I'm looking to purchase? Finally I go up to him showing him my worn out business card holder and I say, "excuse me sir. Could you possibly tell me where I might be able to locate one of these business card holders? I saw them online at the OD website for this store." He tells me to go over about 2 aisles and "they'll be right there." Of course they weren't. I looked all around the store without any luck. At one time this was a good store with very good, helpful employees. Obviously they have gone the way of the dinosaur. Now I am up in New England so I will go to Staples and buy my replacement for a wallet. I keep my cash in my front pocket so my wallet with my various I.D. cards, credit cards, and business cards that I use to write people's phone numbers on the back. So, going forward if I should shop at Office Depot (OD) again, though very doubtful, may the Welcome to Office Depot person have laryngitis, and may "Mr. I will watch you search in vain" have a myocardial infarction and I'll WATCH HIM instead of performing CPR! Office Depot is going onto my "only shop there if NO OTHER STORE has it" list. This post is going onto every website out there to warn my fellow consumers: "this place is a WASTE of your time" so go anywhere else. read more

Bought Epson printer 6 months ago. It's not printing right and I did all the possible troubleshooting myself before going to the store I purchased the printer from. The rep told me that printers are essentially disposable nowadays and last 1 yr. she was the Magee too, and she offered no help except to call Epson. They only provide 30 day return and no support. Don't buy your printer here. Buy online for cheaper as Office Depot has 0 customer support which in my opinion would be the benefit of buying brick and mortar. Very disappointed. read more

I come to Office Depot a few times a year for large print orders that cost significantly less to get printed than the amount of ink needed would cost me. But with the experiences I've been having lately, I'd rather pay for the ink than continue doing so, which if it gets to that point it certainly wouldn't be here I'd be buying the ink. I understand it can get frustrating when dealing with angry customers all day, so I try to be extra patient and kind when I come in. But, I am tired of being nice to people who talk down to me or treat me like I'm dumb because I don't always know how they do things (last I checked, it is the employees responsibility to make sure the customer understands how certain things work instead of expecting them to know your job, ie "we don't print bleed here" when I don't even know what print bleed is). Honestly, I'm not /entirely/ disappointed in the employees, because I'm not sure if it's an employee problem, management problem, or both. One employee even looks like he's on the verge of a break down every single time I come into this store, so I'm leaning toward a problem on both ends. Honestly, the work they do isn't that bad when they keep organized (which I know can be hard to do). But these attitudes are getting unnecessary. As I stated before, I understand it can be hard to keep a positive outlook when dealing with angry customers all day, but one could also argue that their would be less angry customers if the employees didn't talk down to their customers for no apparent reason other than being in a bad mood. read more
