I will be picking my replacement battery on March 3, 2021, what I saw of this place is not too shabby even their customers rivaled what some of us did in College of DuPage [cod.edu] so those who wonder about what kind of laptops they have -- it is a curious question if they would even be able to custom modify a laptop to dual run Apple and Windows in combination with software which Google OS ended up stemming from [those who doesn't even know how to navigate Linux I will mention you're not alone in that one. I was surprised he even had been able to track down the battery for my laptop being now it's aftermarket; around the time this was being done I had a solid-state installed on the laptop from my step-father's computer guy -- uBreakiFix handles my iPad repairs and sometimes my Android OS systems, Mark will be sharing the Windows OS duties with my step-dad's guy. When I entered their rather handsome looking store front I was greeted with the owner yelling racial epitaphs at a black gentleman who looked very embarrassed about the situation. I smelled alcohol in the air and was quite turned off by the situation so I promptly left. I greeted the black gentleman when he exited the store out of curiosity. I was told that he was picking up his laptop after repair when the owner came in and was very upset about his late payment. Racial slurs and insults in the store lobby over late payment? Outlandish. I accidentally deleted Windows OS on my disk partition while trying to learn how to use Linux os. Staff were great. They looked busy in there. I am glad business is somewhat back to normal for them I think. I think they have a new crews. Price was very fair. My sons laptop stopped charging. My husband did very minor things to try and fix it. New charger and replaced the battery. It didn't work so we brought it in the the shop and we had used them before and it was great. Well this time I paid 40$ to have them do absolutely nothing but destroy my sons laptop. After waiting 5 weeks of being promised they would order the tool they needed to replace the charging jack, I took the computer to a different repair shop that records the techs repairing the computers . When they opened the computer up the mother board and wire components were shredded like someone was trying to pry things apart with the wrong tools and just total disregard to the computer and other people's things. So now I will have to pay another shop to repair the damages that were done by Mark Evans computer repair. Thanks for charging me 40$ for nothing and costing me money. read more

I brought my laptop in for an issue with the Network Wireless Adapter. They charged me $53.50 to fix it. It still doesn't work and now the power light also does not work. They tried to sell me a new hard drive and when I question that they told me that they had confused me with another work order. They also tried to up sell me more memory. In summary, they didn't fix the problem, broke something else and tried to sell me things that I don't need and charged me money. I'll never do business with them again. read more

I give this organization a very low rating for customer service and technical capability. They began by being 30 minutes late for an appointment then proceeded to not use well structured troubleshooting on my computer. It ended with the tech telling me i needed to buy a battery on a website without even putting a voltmeter on the battery (it wasn't the battery). The office manager then demanded to be paid quickly even though I wanted to speak with the owner or someone with more authority before paying. O could not recommend their services. read more

So I got a gaming pc from them built pretty fast runs great all I recommend is do a lot of research before you go ask for a quote on a good machine look up the same parts buy them and have them build it , just to save a few $ , unless you like me and wanted it like super quicker and payed a lil extra , Ik I could of built something crazy with the budget I had , but I'd wanted something now and that's gets the job done , only thing I wish they did more better is the wires in the back look more neat even tho you'll never see them in mines it just be nicer if they did it , but I would say I'll come back to this place for upgrades in the future!! But yeah the wires in the back is why it's 4 stars and not 5 stars , but I recommend this place for ppl who want to get a pc and or are new to pc , just do research on what you want ! Im not going to go on a long rant here. Its simple. THESE GUYS ARE THE BEST.. PERIOD!!!!! I lived in Los Angeles for 25 yrs and dealt with many computer repair places and then moved back here and was worried i wouldnt find a place that actually knew what they were doing. Well, they proved me wrong! All the people working here are truly nice human beings that care about their job and the work they are doing. Great bedside manner. They take care of the problem you brought your computer in for. You are not going to get it back and get a bunch of excuses why it wasnt fixed. I just cant say enough about this place except i wish all businesses has their work ethic. GREAT JOB GUYS. 1st class all the way around. My 6 month old Thinkpad developed a bunch of problems, including terrible battery life, problems charging and giving a correct display of the charge amount, as well as random software errors, and since ME is a Lenovo servicer I took it to them for repairs under warranty. The people there are very friendly, and I was pleasantly surprised at how reasonable the prices are. Only $79 for a diagnoses/repair, with deals to put the $79 toward the cost of replacement parts, though my parts would be free due to warranty. They ordered me a new battery and had my computer done in two days. Upon pickup however, I discovered some problems still occurring, such as the computer not registering when it was plugged in - it wouldn't sense the AC adapter. This was a problem they did not experience when they had my computer, so they didn't know about it. So I had to take my computer right back to the shop, and they determined that my computer needed a whole new control board (I think that's what they called it.) They got the part quickly and since getting my computer back a second time there have been no other problems. I was concerned that since Lenovo is a Chinese company, that it might take them a while to get replacement parts, since it would have to ship across the world, but for both the battery and replacement control board they received the part within 2 days, and have the replacement done the same day. They were a pleasure to work with and they gave me utmost confidence that they'd take good care of my computer. I'll happily recommend them to anyone who needs any repairs, or who just wants to buy a new computer. They had many models for sale and will build them to your needed specifications for cheap. This shop is a small cottage industry specializing in repairs and refurbished sales. They do not make house calls but are impeccably capable, honest, fast and reasonably priced. Just had a laptop refurbished, including disk drive diagnostics, checking for unnecessary startup programs, cleaning fans and airflow, cleaning out temporary files and corrupted registry info, verifying anti-virus status and subscription (they usually install Kaspersky), installing all security updates, defragmentation and reconfiguring a template. Cost: $99. I am not local and return to Evans for non-emergent service. They also offer free limited warranties and free telephone service for trouble-shooting. read more

Buyer Beware: I recently purchased a "New" Lenovo lap top from Deb at Mark Evans computer. I was recommended to them from a friend and have read most reviews that were good. I knew what I wanted as I was looking online at the Lenovo web site and actually brought a print out of what I wanted with me. On a table labeled "New" Deb showed me a Think pad X 1 carbon the same as I was looking for but a I 7 processor ($100.00 more) instead of the I 5 I had seen on the web site . I could buy it local instead ordering from Lenovo and wait. I also liked the idea of buying from a local business. I tried it out there and liked it and purchased it for $1,699.00. When the battery needed to be recharged I then noticed on the charger a sticker that said used equipment. This prompted me to to go to the Lenovo web site and put in the serial number and find out that the factory warranty started in Feb 2016 and the computer was manufactured in Feb of 2016. When I brought this to Deb's attention she insisted it was a "new" computer and the fact that it was manufactured in 2016 and a Gen 4 and not a Gen 7 was of no consequence. She ordered a new charger for me saying it was just mismatched with that computer even though along with the used equipment sticker was another sticker that matched the computer and the charger together. She then also went on the Lenovo site and entered a 3 year warranty that is good at a carry in depot. The CONCLUSION is that I purchased a used computer which was represented as "New". Even if it was never used where has it been sitting for 3 years. A three year old computer is not "NEW". I received no satisfaction from Deb and because of a planned trip I needed the lap top for I am now out of town with my 'old/new' computer purchased at a new computer price. read more
