I'm actually glad I didn't plunk down $400 with this company. I hope this store is the exception because if all of their stores have such apathetic service, more and more people like me will just walk away. I drove to the store to pick up the toner I needed to finish a project. According to the website, the 3-toner package was in stock; according to the young man who reluctantly dragged himself away from his conversation with his co-worker, that just means the item is in stock in the warehouse, not in the store. Okay, I said, can you sell me the individual items for the package price? No, he said, but we can give you the same price as the website price. Wait, you mean I'm paying more money for the same item if I walk into the store? Okay, I asked, well, that's not going to be the same as the package price for 3 toners. Do you have a coupon maybe you can apply? All of his responses were about what the store can't or won't do - and no one seemed at all interested in making a sale. I asked them if they just wanted me to leave? Throw away a $400 sale? No one offered any interest in helping me out and keeping my business, so off I go. This is not a sustainable business practice to leave your store in the hands of people who obviously are not interested in providing friendly service to customers. Seriously - this should have been a no-brainer: "oh my gosh, I'm so sorry, of course we'll figure out a way to get you as close to that package price as possible. Sorry you made a special trip down here. I know how frustrating it can be." How hard is that? You make the same sale as what I would have paid online AND kept a customer. It isn't often that I shop at office supply stores. I have visited this store twice. Once for a specific school supply, the second visit was on behalf of a group I am a part of. Both times, customer service was on point. Both visits I was offered help. Each visit, the cashier was friendly and made jokes. I felt appreciated as a customer. The way this location is set up, there is not as much variety of each product. With both visits, there was only one option for the items I was looking for. So my friend walks in to photocopy some papers for his mom. He walks up to the desk and apparently it isn't an option. They point him over to the self serve. Its one copy. He has coins to pay for it. No can do. Self serve machines are card only. They only have two self serve machines, mind you. One is normally down and the second one is usually being used by someone copying everything in a 5" three-ring binder. Yeah so...go to Staples if you can. One in Metro Center area and one in Arrowhead mall area. Better service and fully-functioning machines every time I go in. read more

Horrible service. We needed a few things printed for a baby shower and the experience was terrible. We paid $70 to have our items printed and just in color on card stock. Ordering was such a hassle and when we picked up we were missing prints and had to come back. I already did not really shop at office max / office depot but this experience has turned me off entirely from ever purchasing anything from this chain. read more

I had a great experience here! I used them for my first time for printing services. I was in a pinch and needed 300 business flyers made same day. I went into inquire about timing and price. Now I remember WHY I like Office Max over Staples, they have better service and I have always been greeted when I enter the store. I always thought they were the same, but hands down NO COMPARISON when it comes to service in general. They always walk me over to the merchandise, instead of pointing to a general area of the store. Consistently friendly and efficient check-out and service. The selection isn't as vast as Staples, but I prefer to shop somewhere where the employees are friendly and helpful. This location is next to a Target and Michael's, so it is worth the visit for me. read more

I was out shopping for a new laptop. Upon arrival at this location, not a single employee in sight to help us. I had to ask the cashier to call someone over. 10 minutes later, the manager comes out and assists us. We were after a laptop that was on clearance, and we agreed to buy the laptop after he offered us an addition 10% off. We are told that it needs to be reformatted and should take one hour. Not a big deal, it's in a shopping plaza so there was plenty to occupy our time with while waiting. We return an hour later with the news that the computer was not ready. He took down our number and stated he would call us when it was ready. Note, that was at 3:30pm that day. It was now 11:30am the NEXT DAY and still no phone call. I called and asked if the computer was ready, I'm told that it finished overnight and is now ready. I asked why I did not receive a phone call like I was promised and was told that "they didn't have time". Sounds like an excuse to me. So I drive down there, the manager who was helping us the day before does not come over to talk to us. Instead, a different manager comes over and begins boxing the computer up. I asked her if it is a standard practice not to call the customer when their item is ready, especially when it's been almost 20 hours since the promised time. Her response was "we are short handed, nobody is designated to the tech department, and there was no note on the laptop regarding why it was there". Seriously? That's a pathetic excuse for poor customer service. Please take your business to another business or location. This particular store and store team will not help you! read more

I need it to fax some documents and when we got there was no cover letters so Abraham told us he will print them for us , what he didn't say was that he was going to finish other things he was doing and take care of other customers . Came here to buy a Chromebook, worst service ever! It took over 30 minutes just for a worker to finally pay attention to us. The worker kept asking us if we needed help and we'd say yes then she'd leave and help someone else she did the same thing about 3 times until she finally helped us. We asked her which computers were touchscreen and she didn't know....then after we had told her we didn't want the warranty or for them to help us set it up (they charge 50$) she asked us again the same thing, I was the one talking to her and she kept ignoring me and directing the question to my father and waiting for his response after I had just told her no I found this very rude she was so unprofessional and she made it sound like as if we didn't know how to use a Chromebook by saying statements like "well I don't think you guys had a laptop like this they're new and they have a anti-virus installed so you don't have to install nothing." And "I can set it up and remove the trials and programs and make you an account so you don't get viruses and I'll teach you how to use the Chromebook properly." I had already told her no... And after she told us all that she was like "it's only 50$ you're sure? I can really help you, it seems like you need it." I ignored her comment and we just got our Chromebook and left! I would never in my entire life return there, btw this was my first time there and they're understaffed, if you ask another worker to help you they just ignore you, so you look like a crazy person trying to get someone to help you! Honestly I just believe it was something having to do with our appearance because like I mentioned she kept leaving us to help someone else she didn't even let us finish a sentence when she'd be like "I'll be right back with you." Please whatever you do if you have just gotten done with a 16 hr shift and you're still wearing your work uniform and you're with your elderly parent who wears construction clothes because of his job don't go they won't treat you right!!! read more

Don't go to this place unless you appreciate salespeople snickering at you if you ask a question. I went up to the counter to be helped and asked about the ink i was purchasing, showing him a cartridge i brought with me and making sure i had picked the right one. This girl behind him snickers and gives him this look as if i'm just SO stupid. Uhm, no. I cannot stand that kind of pettiness. read more

He help me get on his publishing site and I built a new certificate, he help me print it and find the paper. He made it very easy and I was still in and out within 15 minutes. read more

Was very pleased with her professionalism and her knowing where everything was at in the store. It was a really good experience when I walked in there. This store does NOT allow customers to use the computer in the print department to search online for the needed information like other stores do. Because I visit the stores in North Phoenix, Scottsdale and Paradise Valley to access my information online and print the job, I presumed ALL Office Max stores work the same way. WRONG! Not the store on Northern Avenue. I went there on my lunch hour only to be told that that capability is not available in their stores to customers, however, if I wanted to use the printers, customers can do that. Um, that's not why I went there. Better call before going, or better yet, find somewhere else. read more

Awful customer service in the Print dept. I sent my 47 page blue prints over at 7:30pm Friday night, receiving a confirmation that it would be ready at 9:30pm that same night. I wasn't going to go out that late and get them so I figured I would just go in the morning and pick them up on my way to my meeting. I called at 10:30am to verify they were ready and was told by Corey he hadn't even looked at them yet. I told him I needed them within an hour, they were supposed to be ready the night before and was met with a barrage of excuses. He said there was no way they could be ready in an hour and he didn't know what to tell me. He was busy helping customers. Customers? I am a customer but apparently since I already paid my $160 to print, I don't count. I asked to speak with the Manager who was most likely just his co-worker, I was met with the same level of customer service from the so-called Manager. In the future I will find a nice small business owner who will appreciate my money, not treat me like crap. read more
